Well, I've heard all the positives from my friends, family, and recruiters. No one seems to talk about the negatives.

But here goes...
I want to be in AMEDD and I'm 17. So I need college experience and all that. I've got options.

HPSP STUDENT- 100% tuition assistance! Offiicer's pay on break and $1992 a month. But active duty.

Army Reserve Enlisted- Again, 100% tuition. But, don't know much about it.

ROTC- No clue what I get for this. But I have to wait til I'm at a school that has ROTC and that'll be a 2 year wait.

Those are my options. I want the MOS 62A and I'm sure I have it down to qualify and do school.

But my questions are that if I'm attending a certain university, can they go and station me somewhere else? Because for med school, online classes aren't going to cut it! Seriously.

Could someone give me some answers?
Maybe some advice?
I'm happy with whatever I get.

Well, if you become a cadet you are nondeployable and you won't have a duty station, they respect that cadets are in school. You can be "active" and do that, but you could also join the Guard. The Guard generally pays more money towards tuition than just being a straight up cadet, but the Guard can be awful sometimes. You'll also get more money if you go through BCT/AIT before becoming a cadet, but that runs you the risk of deploying. Like for me, I was supposed to contract with ROTC last semester but they changed my contract while I was in training and so if I contracted with ROTC I'd have to give back my signing bonus unless I waited another year. Well my Guard unit is getting deployment papers any day now, and I'd have to go with them. I'm in a bit of a pickle lol.

There's a lot that sucks about the Army, it just depends on where you go and what you're looking to get out of it. You gotta figure out if you wanna be an officer or not. You could always serve your basic x amount of years enlisted and then use your GI Bill to go to school. (Although don't expect that s**t to come on time, the VA is slow as molasses)
