So, last night I went to the first concert of Utada Hikaru's American debut tour, called "In The Flesh 2010". The concert was at Pipeline Cafe in Honolulu.
The entire building was PACKED. Everyone inside was shoulder to shoulder, literally. They totally oversold tickets. Luckily my mom (I LOVE her so much for getting tickets! <3) and I got in early enough to snag a table and a couple of stools, so we got to sit down during the whole concert instead of standing for 3+ hours.
My two favorite songs of hers are Passion/Santuary and Hikari/Simple and Clean. I was SO happy when she started singing Passion, and then switched to English for the chorus and switched back to Japanese. Most of the other songs she sang were in English, since it's her American debut after all.
The lighting and stuff was GREAT. During Sanctuary, these lights were emitting these long, beautiful rays of golden and blue light from behind her. She looked SO COOL!!!
I was a little disappointed when she finished and didn't sing Hikari, but I was like: Well, that's alright. It can't be perfect.
And then... she did an encore performance. 8D SHE SANG SIMPLE AND CLEAN (english version of Hikari)!!! HUZZAH!!! >w< And she also sang another English song.
The concert was great! I wish I could have taken pictures, but they were taking people's cameras away if you tried D8
So anyway, discuss:
Do you love Utada Hikaru?
Did you go to the concert? If so, did you enjoy it?
If you didn't, are you bummed you didn't or are you jealous of me? XD
Have you ever been to Pipeline for a concert before?
