In between all of the hustle and bustle of the apartment (not the crazy kind Eli was used to at the Cottage, but business nonetheless), Eli realized he had yet to really even ask Haevan's permission to stay. It didn't matter that Haevan had been at his dad's, it was still the kind of thing that sent the good-mannered kuppy into throes of guilt because he was completely intruding on everyone who lived in the two bedroom and after his sister had not killed him, his guilt had focused squarely on the wolf Hyte.
So Eli baked cookies.
It was more of an instinct than anything--besides the fact one hardly saw a single mahou shoujo in which there was not a baking cookies episode, Eli had worked in a bakery and was a firm believer in the power of sugary baked goods to bring happiness. He supposed it could also be seen as a bribe--but it was a delicious bribe, so who cared?
Knocking lightly on the bedroom door he'd never seen open, Eli held a plate of sugar cookies in hand and hoped for the best.

Considering the door had yet to open..meant quite that. Haevan had yet to even return home. Well, that wasn't quite true. Fishing his keys from his pocket, he fiddled with the lock until it actually opened. The first thing that struck the wolf hyte as odd was the lack of Noe's scent. He was use to 2 familiar scents, his best friend Seth, and the female kuppy. Once upon a time it had been his live in sweet heart Hunter..but due to events around the holidays that had changed.
The second odd thing was what he thought might be Eli knocking on his bedroom door. He'd only en-counted the male kuppy a time or two and had never been properly introduced. Blinking a few times the wolf's head cocked to one side, a small lop sided grin formed on his face. "Ye won't be findin' no one ta answer that way, might wanna try turnin' around." The wolf stepped in the door bringing with him his gear from having stayed with his old man (plus a few additions mind you) It had been a nice trip... but all things considered it was nice to be back home. Granted he was in the dark about recent happenings for the now.

Eli turned around quite sheepishly, and waved at the wolf coming in the door. "Hi, Haevan. I'm living here for now. Would you like a cookie?" he said, offering the plate. His heterochromatic eyes took in the baggage Haevan carried, and surmised the wolf really hadn't been home until just now. The kuppy wondered if Seth had managed to tell Haevan anything about what had happened the past few weeks...

Make that a 3rd odd thing. Then again he was use to strange happenings..just not of this nature. Eli lived here now? From what he remembered Noe and Eli usually mauled the other..what was going on. "Oh? 'ah..suppose that'll be fine? Eet's a pleasure ta meet ye officially." He tipped his hat to the other..and stopped half way laughing. The suddenness of all this was oddly refreshing. He finished the gesture by offering his paw out to the other male. "Hm? Aye 'ah would love one. Thank ye~" he chimed in reply to the pro offered treat. He retrieved one of the baked goods and just as soon a section of the soon to be gone cookie. Haevan nodded in response to the cookie..defiantly yummy enough. "Sorry if 'ah seem rude..kinda caught me off gaurd." He fell silent after a moment.
However, not even baked goods were enough to distract the wolf for long. The feeling of emptiness made the hair on the back of his neck stand on end. "Why..do 'ah sense 'm missin' somethin." He glanced around the apartment a worried look replacing his welcoming smile. His golden gaze returned back on the Kuppy, searching for answers left unspoken.

Eli breathed a tiny sigh of relief before shaking the other's hand. "Sorry to catch you off guard," the kuppy said ruefully, placing the plate on a nearby table. And at Haevan's quick assessment of the situation, Eli scratched his head, unsure of what to say. "Do you want the cliffnotes version or the long, messy one?" He supposed the shortest summary would be something about a falling out with Shimy and then Noe's kidnapping...other events, like Kitten, Haevan was probably best left unaware of.

Haevan shook his head and after shaking the others hand waved the notion off. "Nye, 'm 'ah big boy. 'Ah can handle surprises." he remarked with some hints of bemusement all the while. With Eli's sheepish appearance the wolf in all reality wondered if he'd like -either- version. "Cliff notes 'ah suppose?" he drawled opening his door and tossing his things on the bed before returning to listening to the Kuppy.
Something about the others easy going attitude and sort of rushed overview made the Wolf feel like he'd known Eli for longer then 10 minutes. However, what news was to come wouldn't sit well.

Eli tapped a furry finger to his cheek, as if pondering the best way to explain this. "Well, I suppose my part of it starts with my grandmother--Sabra Sabina, the Shimy always running around Hytech like a crazy woman? Ah, well, she and I had a bit of a falling out, which is why I came here...though I won't be crashing forever, my mother's going to build some sort of ultimate heroes lair or something for Kamiko and I--" Eli still wasn't sure how that had happened, to be honest. It'd all come together so quickly... The kuppy coughed, and hurried back to the main story. "And then just a few days ago, Seth got word from Noe's bounty hunting boss that she...was kidnapped." Reflecting on the aftermath of that wasn't something the kuppy cared to do at the moment, and he finished with, "But she was taken offworld...and, um, I don't know if you'd ever noticed but Shimy and I sort of have connections to a lot of different worlds so Shimy's working on finding her." That was all the necessary bits, wasn't it?

Surprisingly the wolf didn't seem off putted by the mentioning of 'other worlds' or anything of similar relevance. It was all plausible, he spent time around a great deal of anomalies, strange happenings and the unexplainable. It was what it was, simple as that. "'n other world?" He echo'd the kuppy's words brow knitting together. "'ah hope yer grandma can find her. 'ah aint talented in those kinda things but... dun't mean I can't understand." Shaking his head he leaned back and lightly plucked another cookie to nibble on. "As fer ye stayin'..like 'ah said stay as long as ye need." The wolf gave a light shrug. "'n..good luck with the heros deal?" He smiled faintly at that, it sounded like Kamiko had found a companion in her hunt for justice after all. "Sorry ta drill ya." the wolf looked sheepish as he finished off the second cookie. "But 'ah gotta know, how does eet all work for ye two?" He was referring to the super hero gig. The wolf had always had an interest in technology, comics, games, computers you name it but who wouldn't wanna know more about superheros? Not that he was gunna run around in a clock or anything..nah he'd leave that to the professionals.

Eli was greatly relieved at Haevan's matter-of-fact acceptance of his little speech, even in spite of the fact that Eli was fair sure any normal person would deem him insane for it. Then again, they were all designer hybrid children, so one would think Hytes would be more willing than the typical human to embrace a little oddity...
"Oh, when Shimy wants to find someone, she finds them," Eli said, with a bit of a nervous laugh. That was the short version of it, anyway...
"How does...the hero thing work? My answer is wildly different from Kamiko's," the kuppy said, scratching his head. "Kamiko mostly gets tech--weapons, gadgets, you name it--from my mother, actually. Or my mom uses her connections to get whatever it is Kamiko needs, if Mom can't build it herself. And she's been trained extensively in various forms of combat. Other than that, it's mostly patrolling and being vigilant, I suppose."
Eli paused. "And in my case, the story starts with world dragons and gets progressively odder from there. Ah, let's see...mostly these days I keep an eye out for lamiak, who are little critters a bit like Hytes, they're partially humanoid, but they often have some form of magic...which can cause trouble, when they suddenly appear places and even the lamiak themselves don't know how they got there. We think it has something to do with a friend of Shimy's, she says the lamiak are from her homeworld...but the kicker is it got destroyed a very long time ago so nobody knows how the lamiak are getting here, lest of all the lamiak themselves." It'd been awhile since the last disturbance, but Eli knew better than to think it was over just because it had been blessedly quiet for awhile. "And I've also managed to anger an Empire full of magical girls, but that's a very long story indeed. And it's mostly Shimy's fault." He had rather provoked Eurus that time he'd met the Praetorate, so he figured he had to bear a little of the blame now.

If spouting details about magickal things wasn't enough to send the wolf Hyte screaming..there was little left that would. Maybe he was more glad that Eli was willing to be honest then anything else. And truth be told, he'd seen a thing or two since his days as a pup up until now. To refuse otherwise would have been the truest for of insanity. At least according to Haevan. There were things out there that normal human beings couldn't fathom. Call it what you wanted, but he like the other Hytes indeed were living breathing proof of that.
"Guess we'll have ta wait 'n see." He replied with an incline of his head to Eli's words on Shimy.
Now as for the business of what Eli had to say on the superhero business.. it sounded about what he thought it might. "Heh, eet sounds like ye 'n Kamiko have something that works real well for ye both." He mused. Made him think of the days when he'd wanted to do police work..fighting the good fight. At the last bit he snorted at the Kuppy's explanation of pissing off magical females. "Oi, sounds like yer good at gettin' yer self into loads 'ah trouble. Careful eet don't see things rainin' down on ye 'n metaphorically 'n literaly crapin' in yer yard."
There again came that silence that implied the blue haired wolf was thinking. More to choose his words then anything else.
"'ah suppose this may sound sudden 'n such." He replied, chewing on his lower lip. "But.. if 'ah can 'n any way shape 'r form.. 'ah wanna help ye 'n Seth find Noe." he said gazing turning to the direction of his best friends room he'd shared with the female Kuppy. "'ah ain't talented magickally, 'n might not look eet but 'ah can lend 'ah hand in keep ye lot safe. Stayin' with my old man ment 'ah spent time with the Werewolf clan dad hails from" He smiled at that, granted it was with some reluctance. It wasn't like everyone willing ran around telling almost complete strangers random bits of information. "Lets say eet reinforced 'ah thing r two." He summarized in short.

"Mostly Shimy's fault!" Eli insisted, holding his hands up in the air as he protested. "To be fair, it's a shitstorm that's been waiting to happen for several years--so before I was born, even. Murders of diplomats, reinstating the Coliseum, general mucked up hostage-driven politics--not a place full of happy sunshine and rainbows, despite the prevalent sparkles." There was a difference, after all. And, he remembered, Shimy had grown up in that world. Maybe he shouldn't have been so surprised...
"I know I'd be glad for the help," Eli said honestly. They still hadn't any idea what they would find--and unless it would require the stealthiest retrieval, Eli was definitely of the opinion that the more meant the better. And if Haevan said he had some experience, that he could handle himself in a fight, Eli would believe him. "I just wish I knew if it was my fault. I don't know exactly what kind of work Noe did, or what kinds of contacts offworld she might've had...but I definitely have enemies on various worlds, or Shimy does, and it's all the same to them." Whoever 'they' might be...

Despite the grave situation, Haevan laughed at the others protests and instance. He waved a paw at the other, with a grin to match the others flailing response. "Still, coverin' yer arse might be wise.." He gave the other a mock serious look. "Then 'ah again.. can't help what yer born inta. Important thing is ye dun't try 'n make eet worse."
He eye'd the others wings despite not wanting to stare. Not that he could help it. Haevan was certain he'd never seen so much sparkles in once place. Not that it was a bad thing. "Just cuz there's sum hint 'ah sunshine 'n crap dun't mean it's one 'n the same. I've met vampires who'd kill ye if you mixed the two up 'n vice versa." He rolled his eyes fondly as if remembering something "'n Werewolves who'd have yer head 'n 'ah basket. People can 'n will be idiots." He plopped his chin into his paw with a shrug. Translation? Anyone who made fun of others deserved a kick in the teeth.
Haevan removed his hat and inclined his head. "Dun't be blamin' yer self Eli. Important thing is ta try 'n do 'r best 'n find Noe. Regardless of who's done what." he jammed his cap back on. "Suppose the best way ta sum eet up is simple. Do what ye can, not what ye can't."

"True enough," the kuppy said ruefully. "In an odd way, I don't know if I'd be relieved if it was enemies of mine--it'd make things simpler, I guess, I'd know how I could solve the problem. If they're enemies of Noe's--I guess I really ought to insist on those magic lessons we always talked about but never got around to, when we get her back." Eli didn't see not getting her back as an option--it was Noelani. He half expected to walk into where she was being held and be reprimanded by her for taking so long. She was strong, way stronger than he was--she'd made it through Dyre, she'd found happiness, she'd get her way, Eli was sure of it.
