It was mid afternoon that the foreign female sat out at one of the tables on the deck, enjoying the sun on that otherwise mild winter day. A thick coat like robe of white adorned her otherwise kimono covered body, her mind consumed in the task at hand as a Sake set sit on a cloth on the table.

With one of the little cups in hand, the femme worked carefully polishing that little cup as if she was doing a routine clean on a pistol or rifle. No spot left unchecked, or unpolished, each angle inspected and deliberated on. Looking the little green cup over not twice, but three times did she see fit that it was clean without a single smudge or smear. Only then did she place it neatly back in a padded box at her side before continuing to the next one.

Her eyes looked a little tired, but she continued to clean each cup till it was spotless.

Jerome slouched lazily under the tree near his pod. Today was no different than his usual lounging days, but he felt that he was troubled by something a recent friend spoke to him. True he enjoyed his current wardrobe, but he felt a small longing to be in normal clothes, despite his knowledge of not getting that choice.

He sighed and glanced around lazily, only to spot a colorful dot near the bottom of the hill. Jerome forced himself to his feet and looked to the dot, realizing it was a fox. "Well, anything is better than staying up here" he sighed as he began the steep trek down the hill

Setting down the next cup, Koyuki tilted her head back to look up at the sky while the white clouds slowly drifted by. Another day was passing again, and she couldn't think of anything really worth while she'd done. While it was important to her to keep practicing on her english and her Geisha training...she often looked back on her kit days with a sad smile. The prospect of friendship and playtime was as long gone as her tiny body, Geisha's had a full time job...often spending weeks with clients...so what time would she even have to make some friends of her own?

Getting up from the table she stretched, feeling a few pops come from her spine as she shook out her stiffness. The snow had melted here and there, but otherwise the white caps still covered the near and distant hills and mountians. It was when she noticed another fox making its way down the hill, but by the physique she could presume it was a male. Only once he was in detailed sight that she felt a bit taken back by his attire.

Armor....is this another Spartan? She'd seen an offspring of one as a kit, but never had she seen one that had probably seen the plights and tribulations of war. Was he friendly? There was no way to tell since his helmet covered his face. None the less, it was time to put her things away for today, so she turned and began to put the rest of her cups into the box when a misjudgement of her hand knocked over one of the cups, hitting and rolling across the floor till it fell into the snow off the deck.

"Oh dear!" She sighed, mentally cursing as she walked over to look over the railing, guaging if it was worth it to grab her kimono ribbons to hold up her garb to go into the snow.

The Spartan watched as he was noticed by the colorful fox, and also observed something fall into the snow. He didn't question anything as he was still pading his way down the hill. It wasn't until his front feet were level with his back that he started using his technological advances to observe why he ventured down

Very odd looking fox. She almost looks like Elysia. Weird" he thought as he walked towards the fox, not at all bothered by the snow he trudges through. When he gets within ear shot he finally speaks up

"OY! Miss, What's up?" he said with his helmet muffled voice

Looking up from where she'd dropped the cup, her ears perked towards the Spartan as indeed he was on his way to her! How very odd that he would approach her, but then again it was also weird that he wasn't with anyone. Not that she knew a lot about the military, but she'd read a few key pointers and was sure they worked in groups the majority of the time.

Immediatly she looked up, curious to why he'd asked such a strange question but quickly clued in it was the slang her mother spoke about. Oh yes, what am I doing....not what is up!

"Ah...well...my cup rolled away on me and fell into the snow." She called back, watching him as he got closer through the snow.

Greeeaaatt. I must really stand out that im nothing of a geisha yet aside from a pretty outfit. Koyuki mentally scolded herself, wondering if this soldier needed anything to make such a trek back down to the shop.

He paused for a moment when she looked up at the sky. Perplexed her blinked a few times and scanned her outfit. It was certainly something he had never seen before, or at least not in real life, so he figured she wasn't quite accustomed to the rather confusing terms of English.

"Did you..drop something" he asked as he finally was within 10 feet of her and trying to follow her gaze from where she was. Has she not seen snow before? He pondered while he waited for her response

"Ah...yes. I was cleaning my cups, when I was putting them away one fell and went into the snow." She moved her paw to motion to the pile of powder snow just off the deck. Folding her ears back, she looked back up to the concealed spartan. "My clothes are not meant for outside, but it is too noisy inside to concentrate..." Koyuki admitted, tilting her head gently to the side.

Should she ask if he could get it for her? Would that be rude? She looked a little conflicted as she weighed her options, certianly he didn't seem unfriendly...but she didn't want to be presumptuous.

"I will have to go change, and then come back for the cup." She admitted, best to get out of these fine formal clothes anyways.

Jerome looked from where she was pointing to the mound of snow. He saw the small hole in which he pressumed the cup fell through. He looked back up at the rather odd fox.

"Oh no no. I'm already here, I'll get it for you" he said with a concealed smile. He trudged over to the the mound she gestured to and found the cup rather quickly. He took a moment to admire the design of , to him, was the most fragile thing he had ever held. Quickly he looked it over to make sure there were no cracks before reaching up and trying to give it back.

"It looks fine, Ma'am. Not a scratch on it." He said with a positive voice

"Ah...Thank you..." Koyuki's lips curled into a smile as she watched him retreive her cup from the snow, and then as a bit of a shocker he seemed to take in its simple design of a two toned painted green. In truth she loved the set, she supposed it was her pride and joy really.

Leanding out and down a bit to gently take the cup from his paw, the vixen took a moment to wipe the bit of snow still left on the cup. "I'm glad...although it is just one cup, it leaves the set rather incomplete otherwise." Laughing softly, she excused herself a moment as she quickly padded back to the box and carefully returned the cup to its spot amongst the rest and closed the lid. Returning to the deck she found herself looking down at the Spartan once more.

"No need for Ma'me, my name is Koyuki...its the very least for the one who saved my cup." She chuckled in good humor, tilting her head. "Why don't you join me up here? Or I can meet you inside?" Maybe she could offer him some Sake? If he was allowed to drink that is, the uniform might have meant he was working or something.

He chuckled lightly under his helmet. "Sorry for the formalities, Koyuki, I'm Spartan Dash 092..or Jerome if you prefer to be less formal." He said as he examined the deck carefully before leaping up and landing as gracefully as one could in Mojlnir armor.

"Sake? I've never had the pleasure of tasting that. I'll take you up on that offer, so long as you don't give me too much" he said with another light chuckle. Last thing he needed to do was get wasted around a smart and intelligent woman and possibly end up like Douglas.

"Please do not worry...You are just being polite." Koyuki smiled once more, nodding her head as she pondered a moment what was wise to call him. She decided to take a risk with informality, it didn't seem he was uptight or anything.

His jump was amazing, as it was apparent she was a bit taken back by it in her eyes, but quickly composing she put on an excited look as she turned. "Chilly!....ah! I mean Cool!" Maybe she should stay away from using slang for now. "Jerome, please come this way."

Turning she walked back to the table, taking the wooden box with her as she ventured back into the shop. "There are a few private rooms meant for very important customers, but there is one that has yet to be fully set up. We will use that one, one cannot enjoy sake on their first try if they cannot concentrate on what they taste." She continued, taking pride in what she knew and it showed in how enthusiastically she spoke. Continuing down the upper hall she finally reached a door and went in, where there was both a traditional ceremony setting and a table and chairs. Figuring he might be more comfortable at the table, she motioned for him to sit.

"I've been using this room to practice...I have a long way to go, but the solitude helps. Please, take a seat." she laughed softly, tossing a look over her shoulder at him. "You cannot hold your alcohol? Or is there another reason?" She asked, giving him the opportunity to either indulge in conversation or simply enjoy the view the window offered while she took out the cups from her box.

Without question, the Spartan followed, listening to every word as he peered around the shop nervously. He had only been there once and felt very out of place, even if the other foxes didn't seem to care. He followed her down the hall and into the private room. He nodded when she graciously showed him the table "Thank you" he said as he sat.

As part of protocol, he quickly took off his helmet and set it on the table to his right. Out of instinct he spiked his military trimmed hair and wiped away a bit of sweat from his scarred and hardened face. Immediatly his green eyes fixated themselves on the peculiar fox. "No. I can hold it, I just don't drink much. And may I ask, what are you practicing for?" he asked as he leaned on one arm that was place on the table

While he made himself comfortable, Koyuki took out two of the clean cups from the box and set them neatly on the bamboo tray. Taking out the flute and the bottle of Sake she had been pretending to pour with, the vixen opened it and poured its content into the darker green flute before setting it too on the tray. Standing up she turned around and looked to jerome with shock, not of his appearance but that she hadn't been expecting him to be helmetless.

"Oh, this will be much easier! I was afraid I would need to try and guage your reactions on voice alone. Silly that I presumed you'd keep it on but none the less a lovely change." She laughed at herself, knowing she wasn't the smartest cookie in the jar.

Setting the cup with precision that it made no sound infront of him, she spoke as she filled it with the clear sake. "I am training to be a Geisha, it was something I was born to do...don't ask me how but when I emerged I was in the attire. I have wondered my heritage...but I was adopted, so I will never know." She offered a bit of her background, setting her own glass and filling it in the same elegant mannor. Taking a seat herself she brought up the cup and took a sip.

"I am glad, I would hate to have my first client per say get drunk and not enjoy! Now, don't drink it like it was a beer, untill you get the taste just take small tastes." Koyuki advised, waiting to see what he'd think.

Jerome wasn't one for savoring the taste of his liquor, but he figured if there was ever a time to start, then it was now. He picked up his dainty cup and raised it in a form of cheers, then brought it to his nose and sniffed it before gingerly sipping the warm Sake, letting it slosh in his mouth before swallowing. "Wow...not bad for fermented rice!" he said as he licked his lips and set the cup down, more interested in conversation than the drink itself at this point.

"Please explain. What is a...Help me out..the thing you mentioned you were trying to be?" He utter awkwardly. He was never good at odd words and today was no exception

Smiling broadly, she nodded her head and set her own cup down as well for the time being. "It is...different, but not in a bad way." She agreed, folding her paws on the table.

"A Geisha?" Koyuki giggled, knowing the term Spartan also confused her for a while untill she knew the history. "A geisha is many things, but we are an entertainer first. Geisha's are trained to make tea, pour sake, dance, play an instrument or revise poems. We are well educated to uphold conversation...all in all though we are hired for what we do like escorts."

Then she seemed to remember something and blushed through her white cheeks, "Ah! Escort....pardon my english but it has many meanings. Geisha's are not like streetwalkers....oh...I am not sure they're proper name! It is like...hiring entertainment for nice parties! I hope im not confusing you, Jerome..." Surely, she must be though!
