Carl Sagan, on advanced civilizations visiting earth

this got me thinking, about the idea of creating a Language of Numbers, or the concepts of those Numbers, as a means of communicating with extraterrestrial beings, and sharing Languages with them. the idea is of course, that this Numeral Language would have to be simple enough to be understood or taught effortlessly. any ideas or thoughts on this hypothetical undertaking?

Actually, to a certain degree, it is already been suggested, and even done.

The Voyager Space Probes were sent into space with simple math equations imprinted on them in the form of dots. SETI transmits patterns in the form of radio waves into space, and looks for patterns as well.

There are groups working on decoding the unprovable crop circles, and one of the most recent findings was a circle that clearly demonstrated a Fibonacci sequence and demonstrate Pi. (I'll see if I can find the articles on it again and post them)
