The crunch of snow sounded lightly as a black and blue haired female walked through the city, a red and white wolf by her side. In her hand she held the handle of her violin case. A white breath of air hit her in the face as she exhaled. As she and her partner passed by different stores, her cheeks became even more flushed then they already had been. Seeing as the wolf still wasn’t an adult yet, she hadn’t wanted to ride him for about three reasons. First reason, she really didn’t want to risk hurting him. He was still growing. Then there was the fact that Abigail might get angry at her and even more so, the Alpha wolves. Finally the store came into view. It had to have been her favorite place to be as a kid. It was so much different than it had been at home for her. The atmosphere was warm, the store owner was kind and the fact that she had been able to play any of the instruments in the place. The music store had been her real home. In fact, she actually stayed some nights with the owner when she hadn’t wanted to go back to where her ’family’ was. There’s the store, Flame, the apprentice said with a happy voice.
Wow, that certainly took us a while to get here, Flame replied bluntly. It had taken them a bit time to get to the city itself but he didn’t mind. If he was getting away from the fort, more specifically from the few who wanted to beat his rider to death, he didn’t care how long it took. In fact, the longer the better most times. Muscles rippled underneath his coat of fur as the blood wolf padded gently through the snow. Anyways, are you sure you’re okay, Emi? I mean you did walk quite a bit and your cheeks are downright flushed red. Concern for the girl was obvious in his topaz eyes.
A light laugh passed through pale lips. Don’t worry, I’m fine. I really don’t want to hurt you so walk a bit was fine with me. Actually, it’s been a while since I just walked in the open air. I liked it, Emi replied truthfully. Turning her attention back to the store, she noticed a black wolf waiting outside. Looks like I wasn’t the only rider who decided to take a trip back to the city, she observed. At the moment, she was only happy that the black wolf wasn’t Alister because the guy was also a violinist. If she was lucky, he still didn’t know she played as well, and wouldn’t threaten her by holding her violin hostage. Now that would really suck for her since she didn’t have much from her childhood that she actually liked having around.
FlameFrost stopped and watched Emi pivot on her foot so she was staring directly at him, as if she could peel his every feeling and desire out from under his shield. Without a warning, her arms were around his neck. I’ll be back soon. I really want to get some music, strings and see the owner again, she told him. The ice and fire wolf nuzzled her cheek gently. Alright, I’ll be waiting right here. With that he push his partner towards the door and watched her go in. Once she was out of sight, he settled himself down to wait. Of course Flame wasn’t oblivious to the black wolf nearby. The wolf had to have been from New Eve since by now, he knew pretty much all the wolves at the White Shadow fort. He gave a polite nod of acknowledgment.
“Owner, I came for a visit,” Emi said as she let the door close behind her. It had been so long since she was last in the shop. The place smelled a bit like marshmallows, firewood and chocolate. Sweet as always, she thought. Feet silent on the floor, she started to wander around looking at different pieces of music. Of course she heard the owner reply back happily, causing her to grin stupidly. Yep, she felt at home again. Better yet, she felt loved by a human again.
