It wasn't her fault she had her mind on other subjects, espeically something as unfathomable and yet intriquing as the 'ghost stories' she heard not too long ago. Besides, who puts a bush right smack dab in the middle of the plains any way? Its like they were just asking for someone to come along, not look where they were going, and stumble right into the prickly thing. Yeah, Spook had gotten herself into quite the pickle at the moment. As her names states, the mare had done a trade mark spook by leaping upwards when she felt herself run into it, and by doing so caught herself in the middle of it. Drat! Not only was this embarrasing to the athletic mare, but it had to be the most annoying thing she had ever done in her three years of life. Well, almost four, but that was besides the point.

Indeed, Spook was trapped, with her forelegs spread out in front of her, her sprawled on top of the thing, and her hind legs dangling off the other side and wiggling an in attempt to get her down. Gosh darn it! After several mintues of trying to free herself from the situation, the flaxen- maned mare flattened her ears against the side of her skull and snorted. She'd give it a final attempt, no holding back, and if that didn't help well... she'd have to think of something else. Bunching her muscles the mare pushed back with her hind legs, although not able to get a good footing, and instead of pushing herself off wound up tangling her hind legs into its branches even further. Ugh. Well... there was only one things left to do, and she hated to do it. After all, she had her pride. The flaxen maned mare lifted her head and gave the best impersination of a 'startled dainty mare' she give, and hope someone came running. Like that would happen.

The grass was green and tender, but as he ate, Hawkbit could hardly taste it. Eventually, he gave up, lifting his head from the ground and staring up at the clouds. Over his head, a raptor wheeled, and he narrowed his eyes. From this distance, he couldn't tell if it was a hawk or a falcon, but either way, he didn't need the reminder. He'd been thinking about his brother, and the old herd. With weather like this, the foals would be having a good time, and hopefully there was plenty of grass left in the old homelands for them all. Except maybe his brother... He snorted. That was best left behind him, over the mountains and far away. They showed plenty well how capable they were of managing without him, and he wasn't going to give them the benefit of his concern anymore. Shaking his head fiercely, he bent his neck to the ground again and cropped at the grass. The first bite was barely in his mouth when he heard the whinny. It sounded like a mare in some sort of pain or distress. Interesting. As far as he knew, this part of the plain was sparsely populated, which was why he was eating here. Sighing, the spotted stallion looked hungrily at the grass, then wheeled around in the direction of the noise to see what the brouhaha was about. It didn't take too terribly long to reach the mare, and upon seeing her, he had to stifle a laugh. She looked to be about a third of his age, most likely less than that, and she seemed to be making good friends with a gorse bush. Somehow, she'd managed to get herself wedged down in the boughs good and tight, though what she was doing in the bush in the first place was a total mystery. Hawkbit shook his head, a small smile playing around his mouth. "Well, well," he said, circling the shrubbery and chuckling warmly. "I daresay you're stuck in a bush. Or else you're making a fashion statement. But somehow, I think it's the former. My name is Hawkbit; do you need assistance?"

And if no one came at all? Spook wasn't certain what she'd have to do to get herself unstuck, but it would probably take a while to be done. You know what? This was all that crazy palomino's fault for telling her stories like that! Because that's exactly what they were, stories, lies, something to just freak her out. Guess what? It'd worked, she gotten distracted and now look where she had ended up. Trapped in a bush and he was probably laughing about it, and, and... and... that was just stupid. There's no way he'd find out about it because she'd never tell him. Obviously. To say the least Spook was feeling a little more than frustrated at the moment, at herself for getting stuck and at Rowan for telling her such crazy things. I mean come on, a whole herd plagued with decay and rot? That was insane!

Before her thoughts went any further on the matter, she did happen to catch a 'Well, well' and a very spotted stallion circling the bush. That of course caused her jerk upwords in surprise, yellow eyes wide and circled with white as she stared at the stranger. How on earth did he sneak up on her like that? Oh right... she hadn't been paying attention. Didn't she just get in trouble for that very same reason? Heh, looks like she needed more work in that area.

"Erm, well yes, I'd say I'm stuck in a bush as well." Great, how embarrassing was this? Not only did it have to be a stallion, but from what he was saying and the look on his face she dared to think he was amused by her little plight. "Seeing as how I've been unable to free myself, I guess I should take any sort of assistance or advice you can give. So... um, any ideas?" Pleasantries and manners were far behind her at this point, much too embarrased to remember, and far too grouchy at the moment to bother giving her name. Oh, he seemed friendly enough, that was for sure, but as stated before, Spook had her pride and she very much wished she'd have been able to get herself out without having to resort to calling for help.
