Along a cobblestone street sits a long, tall brick building with numerous businesses scattered along its front. Nestled between a beautiful china shop and a delicious smelling cafe, rests a calm little store. The store is average, not nearly as large as the china shop next door, but not smaller than the cafe on its other side. The door is white with a small, curly-cued sign that reads 'Open', alongside with the symbol for the word 'namaste'. When the door is opened, little wind chimes tinkle softly like fairies announcing a new customer. Incense wafts through the air in invisible clouds, but not heavy enough to cause any discomfort. The whole place feels relaxed, as if it is perpetually a calm spring day inside the store. The walls and floor are comprised of the same dark wood, and the bookshelves are tall, reaching to the very ceiling and full of books, little statues, bowls of various crystals, little silver trees with jewelry hanging off their branches and various decks of many kinds of cards. Fluffy cats wander between the shelves, silent except for their squeaky meows when they want to be petted. The ever smiling clerk resides on her high stool behind the counter located right inside the door, like a Queen reigning over her kingdom or a hawk watching for any potential thieves, only the clerk believes in the goodness of all and would never consider someone might actually steal something. Welcome to the Underground's New Age Bookstore.

The door opens quickly, a little rashly as Mari whisks herself into the store, flashing a bright smile at the clerk and murmuring pleasant greetings before confidently walking forward. Once she reaches the shelves she slows until she is browsing idly, reaching down to pet the little golden cat that rubs itself against her boots. She looks up for a moment, glancing around to see if anyone else is in the store before bending down to better scratch the cat while she mumbles her adoration to it.

Slowing to a stop in front of the bookstore, a dark eyebrow was raised slightly. Corvus entered the store, looking around before getting lost within it's aisles. Everything was so tidy, his eyes skimming the spines of several novels and tomes, until they became fascinated with a girl crouching by a cat. He watched the cat briefly before his eyes were once more enthralled with the girl, finding her actions more intriguing than the felines. He purred softly, mimicking the cat, his hands fumbling idly at his sides.

The cat meowed softly, rubbing once more against Mari before padding softly away from her to this new, purring man. Mari had heard the chimes when the door opened, but had thought nothing of it until now when he was before her. She stood quickly, brushing some of her long pink dyed hair behind her should to make her look casual, though really she was startled for some reason by this man. "The cat's name is Montegue. I don't know why they named it that, but they did." She said it with a smile, her pale hands finding the other so that she was holding hands with herself.

Corvus narrowed eyes towards the cat, but bent stiffly to pick the feline up. He brought it to his nose, sniffing at it lightly. He looked to Mari, raising a brow before shifting his expression to raise the other brow. "Montegue," he simply said, pressing his lips together.

Black gloved hands covered a giggle as she realized he had sniffed the cat. She couldn't fathom why he would ever consider that, she had found that most cats smell the same, but motioned around her. "There are two others somewhere around here. A black one name Tiberius and a gray one named Mittens." Mari looked around the store, wanting to keep talking to this man dressed in such a strange outfit. She had a particular weakness for anyone dress differently than the norm. "Why did you smell him, by the way?"

Corvus set the feline on a random bookshelf, shoving his hands into his pockets before removing a pair of glasses, putting them over his eyes. "Is Montegue edible?" he asked, turning his gaze to the cat once more, raising a brow.

Mari watched with growing concern as the cat was set down upon the bookshelf, but when this stranger posed his question her eyes widened in horror and she rushed forward to grab the cat. (Who really could have cared less about anything going on, so long as he was being paid attention to.) "Heavens no!" She cried a little loudly. "You don't eat cats!" She scruntinzed him for a moment, looking him up and down. "You're joking, right?"

The man turned his seemingly emotionless gaze to her, his lips slowly tugging into a frown. "I suppose I am..." he mumbled, mostly to himself as he walked around the girl. "Forgive me."

Mari frowned at his reply, quickly setting the cat down and running up alongside the man. "Hey! Are you ok? It was just a joke, no need to be upset." She cracked a smile, her knees knocking together to appear cute. "I've never seen you around in here before. I'm Mari!" She offered him her hand, waiting for him to introduce himself.

He raised a brow at her quick movements, but ultimately his golden gaze rest on her offered hand. He raised his own to it, clasping onto it rather tightly, in an awkward-not-handshake. "Mari, are you edible?"

Mari, instead of stiffening against the handshake, only laughed at his grip and took it to mean his sincerity of their meeting. "Not really! Unless you're a cannibal, and in that case we can't be friends."

"What is cannibal?" Corvus questioned, bringing her hand stiffly to his face. He sniffed it lightly, then let his tongue dart across her knuckles. He moved his tongue around in his mouth, tilting his head in thought.

Corvus watched him. He pulled her close, forcing her to look into his eyes.
"Do you like my makeup?" he asked.
"yes. YOu are such a pretty girl."
He licked his red tained lips and stroked her hair.
Then it sudenly got colder.
