[I read a short article on the show Everybody Hates Chris, which is a comedy about Chris Rock's childhood in the 80's. I've only seen one episode of the show, the Halloween/trick-or-treat episode. It was funny, but I thought it could have been better. 3nodding
-Has anyone else seen the show? --Do you love it/hate it?
-Where were YOU in the 80's?? Not even "thought of" yet? xd In the womb? In kindergarten? In highschool? gonk ]

[I personally don't remember the 80's too much. I was born in '83, so I had a 2 second memory until maybe '88. I know I got a big stuffed dog for Christmas and I burned my arm trying to reach into a hot pan for popcorn...YES, stove-top popcorn... gonk My little brother didn't even know you could make popcorn without a microwave. rolleyes lol BTW, I still have the scar on my arm. sweatdrop ]

Passion_Dragon [...Oh! And I loved the California Raisins commercials. (They danced...) surprised ] LOL! the first two commercials were cute. after that, it was like, okay, it get. they're raisins. they're from a grapevine. they sing and dance. rolleyes in 1980, i turned 6. i was in 3rd grade, and at my new school, i met my almost half-stepsister. that's how i found out (and informed my mom by accident) that my new stepdad was getting married again. without divorcing my mom. bigamist a*****e. i burned my hand on an iron, there was a ghost in my house who kept coming into my room (i think - i remember a shadow) almost every night and scaring the crap out of me, and i had the most horrible corduroy pants, with little flowers on them, that my mom had me wearing like every week, because she thought they were cute. but other than that, the year was great. xd

[ xd Moms are great when it comes to fashion, aren't they?? ...LOL, I'd better shut it...I'm talking to one. biggrin
I made all the horrible fashion choices myself; I didn't need my mom to intervene...if she had, maybe my fashio sense would actually be better. lol I was into ripped clothes, but I didn't buy them that way. I wore things that didn't match, etc... I think my mom was trying to let us "express ourselves" by being allowed to pick our own clothes every day.... xp ]

[I got done with school early too...because of a lst minute desicion to take summer school...I know at the time it was bittersweet because I wanted to do all those "senior" things and graduate w/ my class and all that...but i just couldn't take it anymore.
It's too bad that your son is "anti-mom." Though maybe he'll find a way to look his best while not feeling like he "surrendered to the enemy." xd ]

I was still in the fetus state until Dec. '86. I actually remember a bunch about the late 80s because My parents wanted me to be as independent as a child as possible, so I can remember when nintendo first came out, and disney movies and working those old VCRs. Also I remember catching reruns of Fraggle Rock on the Disney Channel. I love that show to death!

We all have that little nagging voice inside us that tells us we're getting old...soon it will start saying "My, how the times have changed."
I just read in the paper the other day that the oldest person on record was 122 years old. eek ]
