Hemlock wadded onto the shore of Kell Beach. She had gone in the water for her everyday bath...drink of sorts. The girl perferred being on land like a plant, but she was a Sireni and needed the water. Plus, she didn't like the feeling of dry skin.

Further down the beach, Leafia ran at the water's edge. Her footfalls were muffled by the wet sand until a wave rushed back in - then only a small splashing was heard. As the waves rushed in and out, sea foam bubbled around the sireni's ankles.
Holding her arms out and her hair blowing in the ocean breeze, Leafia giggled happily. She loved running along the beach, it gave her the surreal feeling of what flying might feel like.
As she sped along the waves, the female noticed as a little blue and purple ghostling entered into view. Slowing her pace, Leafia waved both arms over her head. Smiling widely, she called out to the other ghostling. "Heeeeeellllllllooooo~!"

Hemlock heard something and began to look around. As she did she saw another Sireni like herself. This one too looked like a plant. Hum....
The girl walked over to her slowly. The sand did feel nice on her feet. She loved land and needed the water so this was a nice feeling. "Hello. I'm Hemlock." She told the girl once she reached her.

Leafia grinned happily. "Helloo~" she replied, in a sing-song voice. "My name is Leafia." She paused a moment, looking the other ghostling over.
"What a cute hat!" Leafia cried, poking at a flower petal upon Hemlock's head.

Hemlock smiled she loved hearing things about her pedals even if the girl called it a hat. But then she poked it. This caused her to puff out a bit of pollen. "That's my flower. I"m glad you like it but please don't touch." She didn't mean it in a mean way, she just didn't like others touching it.
"You seem plant-y, do you like the water?" She asked as she looked at the water they were near. She didn', but hated her skin being dry. It was an odd thing.

Leafia stared in amazement as the girl's flower released its pollen. She reached up and felt her own leaf sprout amidst her hair. 'I wish my leaf could do tricks,' she thought.
She nodded, smiling a bit. "Yes, I do!" she called out, a little too enthusiastically. "I love coming to the beach and playing in the sand and finding stuff that's been washed up."
"But.." She continued with a softer voice, "I don't know how to swim, so I never really go in the water." The latter made her cheeks flush bright pink, and she tried to hide it unsuccessfully with her hands. "But!" she said, a little more perky this time. "I do like getting my feet wet!"

Hemlock listened and nodded. "I dont' like dry skin, but I'm not much for swimming." She had never thought about if she could swim or not...seeing that she never tried she more then likely couldn't. However, Hemlock figured being a Sireni she just could.
"I like the ground, but not other plants...stealing my sunlight." Hemlock smiled. "Do you like sunlight?" She could make darkness and take the new girl's away, but then again she wasn't a real plant.

Leafia grinned and nodded very quickly. "Yes, I love how warm the sun is!" Putting a finger to her chin, she contemplated for a moment. "But I do also like when it rains.. it makes everything so fresh and it makes my sprout really perky, too!" At the latter, she pointed to the little leaf sprouting from her forehead. She went cross eyed for a moment looking at it.
"But.." she continued, "I've never had a problem with plants stealing stuff from me.." She turned around, scanning the dune grass and back to the forest edge. Turning back to Hemlock, her eyes locked on a single blade of dune grass by their feet. "Are they doing it right now?" She whispered quietly, as if to keep the grass unaware that she was talking about it.

Hemlock nodded with a wide grin. She too liked rain. "Oh, yes rain is very nice. It means my skin stays wet and I get to stay on land. It is wonderful." This made her wish it would rain right then. She even looked to the sky half thinking that it might.
Hemlock looked back at Leafia. She did have a sprout on her head. Not as pretty as her flower, but a plant none the less. However, she looked to the grass instead. "Well, this will stop them." she made a bit of darkness to cover them. This way they could have the sunlight. For some reason she was okay with Leafia.

Leafia watched curiously as darkness shrouded the blade of grass. "Wow!" she exclaimed, bending down to look at the plant. Placing her hands on her knees, she squatted next to the grass. "How did you do that?" She looked back up at Hemlock, her eyes were wide with excitement. Turning her gaze back downwards, her mind was racing with thoughts.
"I wonder if I could do that.." she softly wondered aloud. She wasn't sure how Hemlock had done it, but she had made it seem effortless. Squinting her eyes and crinkling her nose, Leafia focused all her energy on the blade of grass. 'Shadow. Shadow. Shadow.' she begged in her mind. But nothing happened.

Hemlock had never thought about how she did it. She just always could. "I just think about how I don't want other plants taking sunlight and that happens." The girl hoped that explained it, but knew it might not.
"Maybe you can do something else?" She didn't really know about types and all that, but she figured it might be true.

Swishing her leafy tail back and forth, Leafia pondered a moment. What could she do? She wasn't sure she could do anything. She had never tried to use any special power, so maybe it was just buried deep down inside somewhere..
Standing back upright, Leafia shrugged. "I guess I'll just have to share the sun," she said giggling a bit and poking the tip of her tongue out of her mouth.

"Oh yeah?" Hemlock giggled and then made darkness around the other girl, of course this was too close and it caused the darkness to block her own sun. Hemlock didn't like this at all...she puffed out pollen and sulked as she waited for the darkness to dissipate

Leafia gasped as she was shrouded in darkness. The sprout upon her head began to curl up in protest. Her head began to feel a bit sleepy and dreamy. The darkness had a hold over her. Her lids began to feel very heavy and they dropped a bit. 'Is this how it is?' she wondered. She didn't feel bad, just so... tired..
As the darkness dissipated, Leafia's eyes shot open. She felt instantly normal again and her sprout returned to its normal state. Her eyes widened as she turned her gaze back to Hemlock. "Don't do that!" she cried out, her brow furrowing. Folding her arms into her chest, Leafia pouted.

"Yeah, okay." Hemlock nodded. She liked to play pranks, but when they affected her too that was no fun. She did noticed that it worked of Leafia which was a plus to learn, she guessed.
"Want to do something?" Hemlock asked not knowing what as she was rather new.
