Aston Martin, one of the most successful car companys around! the thing is..... have you heard of them and if so ..... what do you think of them?
They are Britten's best sports car company not just making sports car but luxury cars too! In the 40's they used to win le mans and on the comeback year they got a good score. The next year they came first in Les Mans so aston martin will be getting there names out there again

Not to mention that Astons as of late have been..
Appallingly beautiful.
They are gorgeous, gorgeous cars. If I ever find myself rolling in cash, (After purchasing a 1969 Dodge Charger R/T 440) i'd find myself in an Aston dealership damn quick, drooling over a V8 Vantage.

I beg to differ! IMO Lotus is Britans best sports car manufacture. Sports cars for sporty driving.
Lotus did luxury too. Look at the Lotus Carlton. What more luxury do you need with leather seats and power windows? Although, I would most certainly like to own a Astin Martin. I'm more partial to the big Astin Martin DBS, or a classic DB5 with machine guns and an ejector seat. Astin Martin. Extavantly quick cars for showing off.DBS

They're more practical, better looking (in my opinion), more comfortable, and for the most part, faster. (The exige is a bit quicker, but it's essentially a trackday car.) Lotus currently only has what, the Elise, Exige, and Evora out? Nearly no trunk space, not comfortable for long drives, only holds two people.. And that's ALL the models. The exige has no carpets, and electric windows are an optional extra. Plus, they all look like crazy insects. Yes, the Carlton was an everyday sort of car, but it's no longer in production, and hasn't been since, what, 92? I'd use an elise or an exige for occasional fun drives in the summer. I'd use a DB9, or v8 vantage every day, all day long.

Aston Martin's are legit. I'd gladly buy a fully loaded DBS, no problemo. I haven't heard it for myself but I read that their Bang & Olufsen sound system was great., even their stock audio systems are great. They may not be as fast as Ferrari's, or the most fuel efficient but I don't think any one with that type of money would care about gas mileage. I'd buy a DBS, a Ferrari California, Corvette ZR1, and a LF-A if I was filthy stankin' rich. I sat in a Lotus Evora! My brother is planning to get one if he doesn't get an BMW M3 Coupe or Mitsubishi EVO MR, after he pays of his RX-8. Personally, I wouldn't get one, you can get 2 EVO's for the price of one Evora, and I'm sure it'll smoke it.

The thing is that with aston martin, most of the cars of England were Luxury car such as Rolls Royce and Bentley. Aston Maritn's started as the second british Sport cars company (after Bentley) and have carried that name up until this point! Bentley have stayed to Comfort and Sports cars but they re now owned by Audi the most gayest car company in the world today! Yes Aston Martin do make some slow cars for their league but there is something about them that seems casual and a lot more useful than a Ferrari or a Porche. Aston Martin still seem fast and as sexy as a ferrari but lotus? They are all very nice but take the elice, 40,000 pounds!!! for just 120 mph! is that really worth it? Lotus is one of England's best car manfactor.....if they were....I mean they are owned by a company in the far east, just like bentley are owned by BMW!! come to think about it though...aston martin are Englands only car manufactor apart from Morgan(but they suk). can anyone else think of any pure British cars?

One more Question. Is Aston Martin famous enough. here in England it's not that Famous despite it's English. In the States, is it as famous as (the best car company in the world) Ferrari?

@ Twist: Um, no you wouldn't drive a Aston Martin every day. Because you'd probably have a Bently, or Rolls or Merc S class, or helicopter thats more comfortable to get from board meeting to board meeting. xP
I'm in no way putting down Aston Martin as a brand. I think their cars are ALL georgous, and to have every single car that you sell look good and be desirable is talent in every regard. A Aston Martin is probably a million times more streetable than a Ferrari, Lambo or Zonda/Ascari, I do think that it is a rich man's car though and though.
I just think Lotus cars are more accessable, and I've always been a fan of the cheap quality sports cars and lotus philosophy.
@ Gaza: The Lotus Elise may only top out at 120mph, but it can go 120mph all the time everwayware! xp I wouldn't say Morgan sucks, they're not doing to badly in British GT if I'm not mistaken. Sure they may not look that modern, but still.
I'd say Aston Martin is plenty famous. In South Africa its in the same league as Ferarri for sure.
I'd say, that if you drove a Aston Martin, in any given day, you'd close a big deal/contract for your company, have a super model/swimware model try and pick you up, you'd have a police officer pull you over to compliment you on your car, and your valet would give your tip back.

I accept your opinion but just 2 thing's.......1A rolls Royce has a bigger engine and and allot of brilliant engineering, and the cost of this? more weight which means more fuel and the same for a bentley. (As in comfort engineering not racing) and number two.2 have you ever hared of a speed limit? if a lotus can get to 120mph pretty quick ummm, i forgot what i was gonna say lol. I'm not arguing with you i was just making the convo longer. I like a lotus as much as the next man it's just a the price that makes me a bit suspicious. for 40,000 pounds you can get a porche that will go 170mph. And for half the price, you can get a ford focus RS that will go 175mph. I'm just saying that for 40,000 pounds you get acceleration and that only!!!

I agree. a Lotus is for a track not a road but i would'nt be harsh enough to say they were all bugs. The Evora looks like a leaf. If you like that kinda thing then yes get a lotus but if not....welll no (i do like the look of a lotus)

Well, maybe I was being a bit harsh with the "Bugs" comment. But, to me, they are rather.. insectoid-looking. I mean, they look good, in a weird sort of way. Comparatively, though.. They've got nothing on the smooth elegance and flow of the Astons
@Panda
If I were rich enough to afford a chopper, a bentley, a rolls, and other such things.. I'd still drive the Aston as often as possible, nor would I have a bentley, rolls, or a helicopter. Wouldn't really want them. Although, were I rolling in that kind of cash, I might skip the v8 vantage and get a DB9s. smile
Not to mention that the rest of my car collection would consist of classic cars. wink

I think Bentleys are rather nice too, just because they're owned by Volkswagen now doesn't make them bad vehicles, and Volkswagen is by no ways a bad automaker.
If I had a DBS, it wouldn't be my daily driver, I'd drive it at night time in very upscale areas, during the day I would drive a Pagani Zonda F or a Ferrari California, Ascari's are cool too, although I don't know too much about them. I would easily choose a Aston Martin over a Ferrari for these reasons 1) Not everyone has one/wants one, 2) Its luxurious without being slow and has a banging audio system, 3) It comes with an actual Six speed manual transmission unlike Ferrari's with they're dual clutch trannies (although they are very good though), and 4) It's a James Bond car!!!
The only Lotus I could see driving everyday would be the Evora, other than that, I'd keep it as a weekend car, or racing car. The price doesn't really seem that bad, I mean if its a problem you can always opt for a Mazda Miata and save like 8 grand.
Astons are fairly popular in the states, not as much as Ferrari's but they aren't far behind. They aren't spoken of as much, but a great deal of its popularity comes from the later James Bond movies ( the earlier ones he drove a bmw I think). It seems Aston isn't necessarily less popular, but just for a select few.
