Koko Powell was now human sized. As an adult, she still lived with her mother, at least for the time being though, and it led to a tired and irritable Lena Powell dragging herself into Gogo Sushi with Koko skipping behind on her new human-sized legs. She was dressed in a ridiculously girly white ballgown and her hair was up in an ornate bun. She wanted to look as ladylike as possible on her first outing as a grown up.
Lena sat at the counter. "Boba tea, please." she called out.
"Boba tea, if you would be so good!" Koko mimicked. "I'm quite parched, aren't you, Mother?"
Lena gave an irritable mumble that sounded like a yes and hunched herself over on the counter. Undaunted, Koko pulled out a notebook and a sparkly pink gel pen and set down to writing.
Finally, Lena asked "Koko, what are you doing?"
"Drafting my first romance novel." Koko replied genteelly.
If anything, Koko's dimestore romance novelist mother got even more irritable.

Cinderella, better known as Cindy to all her friends, sat on the counter of the GoGo Sushi Bar close by to where a big person girl was writing inside of her journal. The tiny proper princess was quite cruious to what she was doing, so out of her own curiosity, Cindy hiked up her long blue ballgown and made her way towards the girl in her small glass slippers that clinked against the counter as she walked. Cindy stopped beside the girl's hand which was furiously scrawling away at the notebook and Cindy watched with a curious expression on her gentle face. She turned her head and looked up at the girl, "What is it that you are doing?" Cindy asked politely.

Koko was completely unsurprised when she looked up and saw a tiny princess in a ballgown as fancy as her own addressing her. Princesses happened. In Koko's world, princesses, princes, adventurers, and villains happened all the time. She had deluded herself into thinking she was the heroine of one of the type of romantic novels she was now drafting ages ago, after all.
Still, she was as thrilled as if she would have never guessed there would be a tiny princess in front of her when she looked up. Koko was always either despairing or joyful, and 'middle ground' was for people who didn't believe in the magical, sparkly power of True Love. "Oh my goodness!" she breathed, her face lighting up. "A real princess! Oh!" Quickly, she got off her stool and lifted up the hems of her gown in a curtsy. "Hello, your Majesty! My name is Takoyaki Powell, but you can call me Koko." Scrambling back onto her stool, she leaned in close. "I was your size just yesterday, you know, but now I'm much taller. Otherwise I would kiss your hand and such, but as it is, please do excuse me if I don't."
Finally getting around to answering her question, Koko said "I'm writing a novel! It's about a beautiful duchess who is kidnapped by the cruel and evil Baron Von Nunermayer, but her True Love, the valiant, yet humble vassal, Peter, is going to ride out on his horse and save her! It's all very romantic, you see."
She held the notebook to her chest and gave a long sigh, fluttering her eyelashes, before coming back to Earth. "Oh! But where's your handsome prince, your Majesty?!" she asked worriedly.

Cindy was slightly surprised and flattered by the girl's sudden reaction. She just smiled beaming up at the giant girl and nodded her head, "Yes, I am a princess... of a sort. Though someday when I become a giant like my daddy and everyone else is, I want to be a pop star! I want to sing and dance for people and become famous..." Cindy wasn't exactly a real princess due to the fact that when they made her, she was only modeled to look like a princess. She didn't really mind Koko believing that she was a princess though. Cindy curtsied to the giant girl, "It's a pleasure to meet you Miss. Koko. You don't need to call me your Majesty." Cindy added, giggling, "I am Cinderella, but all my friends just call me Cindy. Were you really my size before? That's very amazing, how is it like to be a giant now?"
Cindy walked and leaned over the page that Koko was writing on, "A novel you say? Is it a fairy tale? I wish i could read it, but it is far too big for me to read all by myself. My daddy usually is the one who reads the stories for me. Someday I want to be able to read a book by myself just like you..." Cindy watched as the giant girl lifted her novel up, fluttering her lashes and Cindy just gave a curious giggle. The next question sort of caught Cindy off guard as well, "M-my prince? I... I d-don't have one yet. B-but I hope to find him one day...though there is this one boy. His name is Philly and I sort of...um..." Cindy couldn't exactly admit that Philly was her crush, due to the fact that she was afraid if she told anyone, especially Philly, if he found out then he wouldn't want to be Cindy's best friend anymore, "Never mind, it's not important. What about you? Surely someone as beautiful as you would already have a prince." Cindy giggled.

She listened to Cindy's plans, saying "Oh! A singing princess, that sounds so lovely! I hear they have the most charming and musical voices, and yes, they do look very pretty with stars around them!" She had no idea what a pop star was. Romantic novels did not relate. "And of course, princesses are all very famous because everyone loves them," she continued.
Giggling, she added, "Okay... Cindy," as if she had just done something absolutely forbidden. In Koko's world it was forbidden to call a princess by her frist name, but as she, Koko, was a Heroine, she figured it would be okay if she had been given permission. "And I was! I went to bed the same size you are now, and I woke up and I was human sized, which was ever so uncomfortable, but lovely and magical." She sighed again, adding, "Of course, now I won't have as much fun watching Thumbelina, but that's okay, I suppose. I can read a lot more easily now though, I mean, I used to have such a hard time reading all my romance books, but now I can read them whenever I want!" She demonstrated by picking one up and opening it, easy as pie. "My mother never read stories for me, but if one is a determined and plucky young lady, anything is possible." she added primly, as if she was sharing some big state secret.
"Oh! Oh, no prince?!" Poor Princess! Koko listened to her confession and the said, "Oh wonderful! And I'm sure he'll love you too and you'll live happily ever after! But I know Philly, and he's not a prince, so I think he'll probably have to save you from Peril for it to count." she informed the little Gogo. "Don't worry, he's good at it, you know. He saved me from an Evil Uncle once!"
As for what Cindy asked her, she blushed and swung around in her chair. "Well, there was this one adventurer who saved me from Danger, but he's little, and now I'm big." Her face fell a bit, but she perked up. "If it's meant to be, I'm sure True Love will find a way, though! It always does, you know."

Cindy couldn't help but giggle slightly. This girl grow more and more curious by the second, by Cindy thought she was sort of fun. Perhaps she could be Cindy's best friend too, along with Philly. Koko seemed to be more stuck in a fantasy world than Cindy was, though Cindy thought it was very interesting. She wished that she could live inside of a world of fantasy in her own mind. "So, is it hard being so tall? I mean, I would be ever so clumsy if I were as tall as you... i'm sure all your old friends mustn't look at you the same anymore since you are ten times bigger than them." Cindy was happy for Koko, though at the same time she felt sort of bad since Koko must have missed being small.
Cindy blushed now that Koko knew that she liked Philly, "Philly sort of has saved me from peril once. We were trying to figure out a way to get over to the tables across the sushi bar, but since we aren't big people we can't just walk across. So then I thought of a plan where we got his sister Luna to fly us across... just as I lifted off the ground, Philly saved me by offering to go instead. If he hadn't done that, I would have surely fell to my death. In the end, we both decided to just not do it anymore. So who is this adventurer that saved you from danger?" Cindy began to grow very curious now, "I told you mine, so maybe you could tell me yours as well?"

Koko frowned. "Sometimes it is. I've only been tall for a little while, so I haven't really met any of my old friends again, but I'm sure they'll be tall soon too, and then we can all have fun without having to worry about things like heights and tables and chairs! Although I'm sure there will still be plenty of Peril for young men to save us from," she added conscientiously. "And I do admit it took me a little while to get used to this new size, but Proper Ladies are always graceful, so it was not too hard!"
She swung her legs back and forth on her chair, smiling a sort of there-is-True-Love-going-on-and-I-get-to-know-about-it smile. Who would have thought that plain old Philly could get a princess to like him! It just went to show that anybody could be a romantic hero, although Koko would admit he was very good at rescuing people from things. "So he's saved you already? Oh, he's so wonderful with that, isn't he? I've always said that if one can rescue Young Ladies from Peril properly, one can do just about anything with themselves."
She blushed again and fiddled with the hem of her dress sheepishly. "Well, his name is Sir Kohi Jutsune," she admitted, "And I haven't seen him since he saved me, but he was ever so smart at dealing with damsels in distress. I got the distinct feeling that he had quite a lot of practice at it. He saved me when my mother suddenly decided to become a wicked stepmother and ground me in my room, which was absolutely horrible. Luckily, I managed to escape the house, but the lawn was so very big, and then there were giant insects, and it was so scary!! But then Sir Jutsune came and calmed me down, and, well, it was almost exactly like fate, don't you agree?"

"Yes, Philly really is sweet... he really underestimates himself though. I remember one time... when I was still just a small ferment, him and I... we danced together alone in the middle of the empty sushi bar counter. Even if it wasn't exactly a ballroom, and at the time all I could do was swing my arms back and fourth because I had no legs yet it was still so romantic... he promised me that when I am a teenager, he would dance with me again. Here I am as a teenager, but we have yet to dance. I'm hoping he will ask me soon though..."
Cindy thought about that day and she felt her entire face turn scarlet red. She then turned back towards Koko, "Someday, when I am a giant like you, maybe we could go to the ball together with our princes? You and I will both be beautiful princesses twirling and dancing all night with our prince. We will make so many ladies jealous and we will be the best of friends." Cindy smiled at the thought, "We could even do that thing... the thing where we sleep over? A slumber party is it? And then we could... go do that shopping spree thing?" Cindy learned new terms day by day from watching television.
When Koko told her story about Kohi, Cindy couldn't help but smile. It was so sweet... this Kohi boy that Koko seemed to be talking about. "Awww... I really hope that you can see him again someday. I really do. That is the most romantic and the most bravest story ever. I would be so sad if you could never see him again... I do believe it was fate Koko, darling. And then you will have your fairy tale ending as well. You can even come and live in my castle along with my prince... and we can rule over our land together."

"Dancing is the most romantic thing ever," Koko sighed dreamily. "Oh, you're definitely going to live happily ever after, I'm sure of it!"
When she heard that they hadn't had their next dance, she stopped and exclaimed, "Why this is a perfect opportunity! You need to dance with him at a ball, in masks or some such thing, and then he's sure to fall in love with you because everyone knows that when a Princess goes to a ball, she simply must meet her Prince Charming! You'll see, it's never failed, not even once, and it's just ever so posh and romantic."
She nodded eagerly at her plans for slumber parties and shopping sprees, though she wasn't very sure what a 'spree' was, or what a slumber party was, for that matter. (A Sleeping Beauty themed party, maybe? Probably!) However, she paused and bit her lip, saying "I'd love to do all those things with you, Princess, but I can't ever be a princess, myself. You have to be born a princess, you see, or marry a prince. I'm a Heroine though, which is almost as romantic as a Princess, so don't worry about me! I'm just good enough for a dashing knight or adventurer, and that's good enough for me. If I got a fairytale ending with an adventurer, especially..." Her eyes darted around before she whispered "Him, then, well, I'd be so very pleased!" She let out a romantic little sigh. "And of course, if you need me in your kingdom, I would stay." One did not argue with princesses, after all.

Cindy smiled and laughed, "A ball? That would be so wonderful! I hope to do that one day then! With music and food... and in a beautiful castle as well. Oh, but I can't have a a ball without my new friend Koko there. It just would not be complete without my wonderful Royal Ball planner, Koko."
Cindy giggled as she twirled around, holding out her arms pretending to be dancing with someone. She stopped though when Koko spoke, "What do you mean you can't be a princess? Of course you can! Anyone can be a princess if they set their mind to it. I want you to be a princess just like me, because I said so. I am sure if a princess dubs a commoner as a princess, than the commoner will become a princess too!" That was Cindy's theory and she would stick with that, "And of course I need you in my kingdom, Koko! Not as a commoner, but as a princess as well. Along with your handsome adventurer!" Cindy was slightly disappointed at Koko for being so down on herself.
