As Sorien passed through, a heavenly sent would catch her attention. Following it would lead her to a clearing where the black and green demon, Raanan, was amusing himself in an odd manner. He had "abducted" a long buffet table from a nearby wedding, complete with cake and all the other treats. In the privacy of his own meadow, he was picking through his spoils to see if anything appealed.

Sorien watched as the strange pony picked his way through the buffet table. her stomach growled hungrily. Sorien had never been very good at sharing though and very much doubted that this pony had any plans of his own to share his small feast with anyone. She would just have to eat both the pony AND his buffet. Sorien readied herself to charge in.

The grumbling sound caught Raanan's attention, fortunately for him. He glanced up and saw her just before she could charge. For a moment, he just stood there, before his mind put the peices together and he nodded toward the buffet.
"Help yourself," he offered, deciding all he wanted was a slice of the cake.

Foiled again. How humiliating to be betrayed by her own stomach! Sorien cautiously made her way out into the meadow and up to the buffet table. It would be tough eating the pony now that he was alerted to her so she decided to focus on the actual food. With one large bite Sorien nearly ate the table whole. "Your name?" She said out of the side of her mouth as she chewed on one of the table legs.

"...." Okay... that... was different. He had never met a pony who ate wood before. Though something told Raanan that he needed to keep her supplied with food. Or else she might turn on him.
"Raanan," he told her his name, figuring that was the best thing to do at the moment. She was still distracted with the table, so he could buy time to locate something else for her to nibble on.

"Raanan?" She quested raising an eyebrow. "Strange name.." With a loud crunch she finished her table leg and began nosing around the remains of the table.

"And your name?" he asked, deciding not to point out that his name wasn't the only strange thing in the clearing.

"Sorien" She replied sitting up straight and proud. Sorien made quick work of what was left of the table and turned back to Raanan. "Is there more?" She knew by a quick sniff of the meadow that there was not but that wasn't exactly what she was asking. It was obvious that buffet table did not belong in that meadow and she wanted to know how it got there. That and she was still ravenously hungry. If this pony could produce large tables of food at will it would save her the time and energy it would take to catch and eat him.

"There could be," Raanan hedged calmly. Casting his gift out had shown him a few picnics but nothing that would provide a large store of food, yet.

"Could be?" Sorien replied raising her eyebrow doubtfully. Maybe It would be easier just to eat him after all. She took a step closer. "Where is the rest of your herd? Do you have a herd?"

He stood his ground defiantly. Perhaps not his best idea but hey, life was short. "Here and there. I might have a herd, I might not. How do you feel about fruit?"

Sorien smiled menacingly revealing long rows of sharp jagged teeth. This one had guts to stand his ground. Especially when a lesser pony may have tried to flee ages ago. She was slightly impressed."Fruit is good."

"Then how about a fruit salad?" he offered with an elegant bow. The air between them would glow softly before a picnic appeared. Conveniently displaced from two meadows over.
