 Memphis sat on a rock with her tail in the water. She was coming her hair and just enjoying the sun. It was a nice day. Sure it was winter, but winter on an Island wasn't the same as winter on the main land. Anyway, she was a fish so the colder water didn't bother her.
Memphis wondered if she would see Cadassi again. She also wondered how his swimming was coming along. She hoped well, but seeing that she taught him who knows.

 Cadassi took a deep breath an dived under the water again. He had been practicing off and on since the storm and so far he had gotton rather good at that swimming thing. If only he could find his teacher and thank her for her hard work and effort.
He'd been to the rock cove and beach a few times since the storm but he must have missed her. The only thing ot do was try again, he suspossed. What else did he have to do?
Turning around and heading east, he made his way slowly but efficiently toward the small rock cove where he had first met his kind hearted, sourthern belle of a mentor.

Memphis rolled from laying on her back to laying on her tummy. She looked to the water and placed a hand in it to feel it's coolness. She was slightly bored, but oh well.
The now adult saw something rippling in the water. He eyes got wide as she saw a fin. Oh great, a shark. Just what she needed that day. Memphis pulled her tail out of the water and sat waiting for it to go. Hopefully it wouldnt' want her enough to get itself out of the water.

Cadassi grinned, seeing an all too familiar blue tail being plucked out of the water. He finally managed to catch her. Not realizing that his fin was sticking out of the water, he swam a little faster, adjusting his course so that he was swimming right where the blue tail had vanished.

Oh great it was still coming her way. What was she going to do now? The was no way she was going to be able to out swim a shark.
"Go away." She said in her thick accent. "I can blind ya!" She put her hand to her lips and kissed a few blue light hearts, which was her power.

Cadassi, oblivious to her threat since he was underwater and still quit a few yards away, continued his one track course.
Lost in his own thoughts of how happy she would be to see how well he could swim, he never noticed the glowing blue hearts just above the water, waiting on him.

Memphis put her hands on her hips. She wasn't sure what to do now. It was either wait the shark out and hope he didn't come up on her rock and if so use her power. Or she could dive in the water and try to out swim him. Memphis didn't think her power would work in the water being that they were made of light.
Memphis decided to let the shark make the move. If it did try to get her on the rock then should could try to swim the other way. If she went fast enough she could make it to shore. If it went away then that would be fine too.

When Cadassi finally reached the rock, he stopped a few feet away and popped his head out of the water. Paling a bit at the blue hearts surrounding his friend, he ducked back under the water.
Had he just seen... Shaking his head, he peeked back above the water, leaving half of his submerged just in case the hearts were dangerous. Yup. those were glowing blue hearts.
Sighing, he decided to put on his brave face, which was probably more laughable than brave, and popped completely out of the water.
"Memphis? That you?"

Memphis saw that the shark was emerging. She got herself ready and then saw something else. He only peaked for a moment before going back down. Was that who she thought it was? Not a shark at all.
Memphis then saw him again. "Yes, it is me sug. You sure scared the dickens out of me. Thought you were a real shark." She told him with a smile.

Cadassi blushed a light blue. "Why would you think that?" he asked, then blushed even bluer when he remembered his giant fin. "Oh yeah. Well, like you have any room to talk!" he playfully accused back, paddling in the water. "Look at you and your big, flashy hearts! I thought I was brbacued for sure." he joked.

Memphis chuckled. "Ah, those would have just blinded ya. If I wanted of course." she blew Cadassi a kiss and made a blue heart that wasn't too powerful, so that it only shinned.
"How ya been, sug? Looks like you are swimming fine now." She smiled as she kicked her fin at him splashing a bit of water.

Cadassi giggled, ducking under the water to avoid her splash.
Swimming the last few feet, he hauled himself up on the rocks and laid flat on his stomach with a off. "Yeah. I manage not to die now. Which is good. Why didn't you warn me it was so exhausting though?" he whined, stretching outin the sun besides her.

"Exhausting?" Memphis didn't really think it was. Of course she was a Naiad and he was a demon with fish advantages. Maybe it was more to him then her.
"I would think everything is when you do it too much. Only thing that isn't would be sleeping." Memphis chuckled. "Sleeping you could do a lot and I reckon not get tried from it."

"I disagree. Sleeping can be exhausting too." Cadassi argued, reaching back to scratch his fin. "So, how's my teacher doing today? Besides trying to fry her student." he asked, closing his eys and letting the sun absorb on his fin.

How could one get tried while sleeping? Memphis couldn't help but think. Oh well, she wouldn't ask, it wasn't important anyway.
"I haven't been doing nuttin'. How about you, sug?" Memphis asked. She mostly sunned herself on rocks, swam and ate. There wasn't much else that she had found to do, but then again she hadn't been looking either.
