Hello! Sort of noticed that this guild seems to need more writing contests, so I thought I'd do one.

The deadline will be April 14, midnight. If there are not at least 7 posted stories by then, the deadline will be postponed.

Rules and Things to Consider: It can be as long or as short as you want it to be, though over 1000 words is preferable.

You're welcome to use chatspeak, you just won't be eligible for any of the prizes. 3nodding

For the love of G-d, no high school stories about teen angst. I just practically got out of there, no need to remind me of it. (This rule will be bent if you happen to have a really good idea and you ask me beforehand.)

Please use spaces between paragraphs. It's so much easier to read than if it's a block of text.

Feel free to just hang out and chat! We're here to have fun and support one another, which brings me to another point.

No bashing anyone's work. Critiquing yes, bashing no.

I like all kinds of genres, I'm not that picky. Since I feel like people might worry about this if they decide to write a romance, I wouldn't mind in the least if you have a homosexual couple instead of a hetero one. (Just the opposite really, but that's not to say it'll earn you any extra points.)

Follow Gaia's TOS. Nothing too explicit, please.

Using a chapter from your novel is fine, just make sure people who haven't read the rest of it can understand. It might even help to have a little background before the actual story. Definitely don't use the 23rd chapter where Gavorick the mysophobic dwarf has finally learned the holy Alsto'ci'el method of twining his beard and chomping the Headphones of Youth, enabling him to save the three-legged people of Traileerpaarck (who always seem to be extremely susceptible to the horrendous tornadoes sent by the evil Tunv) and marry the glowing green Biankl, whose radioactive wounds only serve to enhance her beauty. Seriously, I'll be lost.

I'll read your stories at the deadline, so you can edit them as much as you want until then.
