Oh Snap!
Living in a small fishing community, I
think I have pretty high chances of
survival. Even so, I have a plan for if
the worst should happen:
At the first sign of danger, the bathtub
will be filled with water, just in case the
pipes are cut. Second: move as food
upstairs as possible; canned soups,
nuts, fruits and other canned goods are
high priority as they won't spoil as quickly.
Next comes boarding up the stairs. Living
in a co-op also has its advantages; I will
be able to take any tools I may need as
well as wooden planks. If the ones at the
co-op are rotted (which seems highly
plausable, the nearest hardware store is
ten to fifteen minutes away by foot. I can
pick up something better than a croquet
mallet there, I'm sure. Of course, I can't
stay in a small house forever; they could
get in, we could run out of water or food
(my stepdad eats like a black hole).
Here's my escape plan. Well, okay, it's
not really an "escape" plan - more like a
temporarily-get-away-from-potential-
zombies plan. My stepdad is a lot like
Leon Kennedy is with guns... only with
boats; he can drive anything, anywhere.
It wouldn't be difficult to wire a fishing
boat and float out in the middle of the river
until everything's over; we can just sit there,
away from the mainland, anchor dropped,
catching fish to sustain us, river water to
keep ourselves hydrated (boiling it first to
kill any bacteria).
We can probably keep this up for a month
or so, more than enough time to have
avoided zombies in a village of maybe 200.
What are my chances with this plan?
