Samantha and Reiya were on a mission; to hook up everyone they thought would make a good couple. Usually this meant getting one of their friends together with one of their relatives. They had deemed their mission to get their older brother and Elisabetta together a success. Why not try it with Natalie? Sure she was a little younger than Howl, but both twins agreed (which they seldom did) that they would make a good couple.
So Samantha dialed Maru's phone number. She wondered what her mother's old friend would say when she asked if Natalie could come over to play. "Hi, Maru?" she said, attempting to sound professional. "Can Natty come over and play?"

The smell of fresh cookies filled the air in Maru's kitchen as she pulled a tray of chocolate chip cookies out of the oven. She started humming as she set the hot tray of cookies down and danced around the kitchen grabbing a spatula to take them off.
Maru frowned slightly as the phone rang but didn't miss a beat dancing over to where the phone was hanging on the kitchen wall. "Hello?" Maru greeted. Upon hearing Sammi's voice Maru smiled. "You want Natty to come and play today?" She glanced into the living room where Natty sat watching a movie. Quite honestly Natty seemed bored with it and Maru was sure the errands she had to run later wouldn't be much more interesting to the toddler. "Sure she can." Maru said happily. "I really think Natty would enjoy another playdate with you and your sister."

"That's great!" Samantha said, unable to hide her excitement. She couldn't wait to see her friend again; and she was even more excited (if that were possible) to start planning Natalie and Howl's future together. "Hey Maru, we'll babysit if you want," she started. "If you have anything else to do today." It was unfortunate that Maru lived so far away, all the way in Aekea, because normally Sammi would have offered to walk over and pick Natalie up. "See you soon!"
She hung up the phone, and glanced to her sister. "First stage of our operation is a success," she said cheerfully. "Natty's coming over to play. Maybe we can make cookies after asking her what she thinks about Howl?"
"Cookies sound good, actually," Reiya said with a smile. Normally she wasn't this agreeable. Normally she would have rejected the idea completely. "Do you think Mom'd approve?"
"Course she would. She's Mom."
