Super Mecha Arena

The Story: In the year 2010, Kyla of the Lunar Hope decided that she and her friends needed a good way to blow off steam after long hours of training, cavern crawling, and boss fights. Therefore, she hired a bunch of scientists and bought a massive underground bunker, located somewhere in the vicinity of Durem. Here she opened: The Lunar Hope's Super Mecha Arena. It was her hope that planning some fun, mecha related events with her friends would help to give them a break from the dramatics of everyday life. Therefore, instead of standard battles, Kyla's events tend to be somewhat more...unexpected. It all began with a Super Mecha Frisbee match that incidentally decimated a small island. An important discovery was made that day. FRISBEE + GIANT ROBOTS = HELL YES. This made Kyla wonder "What else would be even more awesome when mechs are added to the equation?" That is what this thread intends to explore.

About the Arena: The Super Mecha arena is essentially a bunker filled with custom mecha and various fighting arenas. Of course, if none of the areas are to the competitors' liking, they can always take the mechs elsewhere.

How to Use the Arena

So how does one use this facility? It's easier than you'd think. Since anyone using this place will be a guild member, I don't think I need to go into basic RP rules.

To use the facility, simply notify the person you wish to challenge.

Once you've planned things out, RP your event here in this thread.

Mech Events: While standard battles are neat and all, the idea for this thread is to use mechs in interesting, and possibly absurd ways. For example: Mecha Frisbee, or Mecha Golf....Mecha ping pong? Standard fights are fine if you want them, but this thread is more for silly and fun events rather than dramatic battles.

About Mechs: The kind of machine you're using is entirely up to you. Please supply at the very least a tektek image of the machine your avatar is using. Any kind of picture is fine really, but it's way more fun to have a picture to look at. Also, please supply a basic description of the machine. You can of course make things up on the fly, but if you give me a picture and a description, I can add these to an ongoing "collection" post, and we can keep track of the various mechs that we use. You can either PM me this information, or post it when you begin your event. I'll add it to the list for you.

About Arenas: This also is entirely up to the people involved in the event. If you're running the event, you can have your mech event wherever you feel like. You can even decide to have your event outside an arena, for example: The depths of space, the bottom of the ocean, or the terrifying unknown that is Kokujo's sock drawer.

Rules and Junk

1) As I said before, I really don't need to go into basic RP rules. Anyone using this thread is familiar enough with that stuff. The exception is that a little god-modding is acceptable. Since the intention is for these events to be fairly wacky, humorous god modding is acceptable. Just don't be an a** about it and there shouldn't be a problem.

2) RP STYLE (IMPORTANT PART HERE): The RP style of this thread will NOT be in real time. We all seem to have busier and busier lives lately (myself included). So, unless participants agree on a real time event, the action in the arena can be suspended at any point and resumed later.

3) Multiple events at the same time ARE ACCEPTABLE. If more than one group wants to have an event of some kind, multiple events may be held in this thread simultaneously. Just make sure you and your participants agree on who is where, and if someone else is having an event, be polite, and stick to your own event. Be sure to specify that your event is seperate from any other events that may be happening in the thread.

4) Determining winners. This is completly up to whoever is running the event, and whether or not they consider the opinion of the participants. Whether the action continues until one side concedes, or the person running the event has a specific ending in mind, that's up to whoever is involved in the RP.

5) If you have to drop out of an event, please at least notify the person who is running the event. If you fail to do so, whoever is running the event can choose to continue without you, or end the event whenever they decide. So if you will be away for a while and you are engaged in an event, PLEASE let people know so no feelings get hurt.

6) Events can take place whenever, regardless of what may be happening in the Lunar Hope plot. All events in the arena are "non-cannon".

7) I'm pretty sure that's it. If more rules are needed, I'll add them later. Have fun, be creative. biggrin

Mecha Arena Inventory:

Kyla's Mechs

User Image

The Silver Device: This mech was built for speed and agility. While it has no actual weapons, it is equipped with dual portal guns. One gun creates a blue portal, the other creates an orange portal. If an object enters one portal, it emerges from the other. While they are not actual weapons, they are excellent tools which utilize the mech's speed and turn the machine itself into a weapon.

The Green Frenzy: Frenzy was built with one thing in mind: Power. It gives the user great strength and offensive capabilities. It's drawback is that it is mainly a close range mech, but it compensates for this with mounted shoulder missile launchers. Apart from the missiles, The Green Frenzy is equipped with razor sharp crushing claws, and a heavy tail which is far more agile than it looks.

Interlaced Cerebral Extension (I.C.E.)

This mech is the giant badass extension of Kold's abilities. Kold synchs his mind to this metallic frame and becomes one with the machine. It's a less than traditional cockpit, because there are no switches and buttons. It's more of a chamber for Kold to be in while he psychically controls his mech.
