Zave nervously played with his bangs again, checking himself in the mirror one last time before he was supposed to head off to the beach. The breezes outside picked up a bit letting Zave know how futile it was to look his best, but whenever he thought about meeting Meli... he couldn't help but go all out. Especially since it had been more than a few months since he last saw her.
Thinking about her pale whitish-pink flowers from that chilly early spring afternoon sent a shock of warm red to his ears, but he couldn't help but hide the stupid smile that spread across his face. Once the flowers had died, Zave had found a thick book to press the dried petals into, just to save as a momento of that day.
Since then, there had been little contact between the two. Just the message in a balloon, and then a strange call that Tsu had managed to pick up when Zave was off in the caves to get that spear head, but by that point Zave had been way too tired to go out, and many of the other raevans had apparently gone through a hard time, so Tsu wasn't willing to take any chances during the period. Weird to say he loved a girl and then just left her there for so long. He had wondered how Meli was, and it looked like she wasn't mad at him, but he still had no idea what face to show her when he first saw her again. Would it be enough to smile and act like nothing had changed?
Smacking one of his cheeks, Zave looked at the clock. He needed to hurry up or he'd be late to the meeting place. Still... it was like his nerves were acting in full swing at just the thought of being with her. She had given him so much and he still had done nothing for her it seemed. Carefully he pulled out a sea shell that he had stumbled across before. The outside didn't look like much, but inside there were pale blues and light pinks and whites swirling together. Somehow, this had put him at ease... so maybe... just maybe... it would do the same for her? Finally deciding on that, he gave one last check around the room to make sure he had everything in order, and set out the door. No sooner had he made it to the ground level of the apartment, the wind managed to play with his hair, and send the wild locks all over creation again. With a heavy sigh, Zave hurried to the beach.
