I've been lost in loneliness, of these nights deeper than darkness I want someone to notice now... Because I want to get out of here -Cyric- By the time Cyric was a good mile away or so, he slowed down. More over to make sure he was out of the Falcon Knight's sight before he took a deep breath and let it out. In all honesty, he was a little shaken at what he just did..he kissed her? On the forehead no less..Good golly, Captain of the Estarcia Guard and that was the best you can do? Nice, Captain..Nice.
A slight 'Oof' escaped his lips when one of his healers, a Valkyrie came up and suddenly patted him on the back. "You'll return to the arms of your lover real soon!"
"Indeed you will, this shall not take long now will it..Captain?"
Cyric turned his head left and right, eye twitching a little at the twin Valkyries that were by each of his sides. "That is none of your concern..Shion...Suou" murmuring under his breath for them to get back to their squads. Although Shion was the leader of her squad so that was a little hard to tell her to move.
"Girls Girls~" Yet another, Ho boy. Were all these girls this nosy? Honestly the Silver Knight didn't remember, but it got worse when news spread that he and Caterina obviously had something going on. His head slowly turned to the sage sitting on the back of Suou's horse, rubbing her nails on her shirt while balancing a couple of tomes in her lap all at the same time. "You should know better then to ask kiddy question in these situations...So...Captain...how far have you gotten with her?"
Ok that hit the nail, Cyric let out a fairly loud growl. "Enough!! Back of the line!" The three girls shrieked and immediately moved to the back, not intending to anger their captain in anyways..it was just some playful teasing is all~. Course it worked because the Silver Knight was red all over..although he was hiding it pretty well.
"I didn't bring you all to discuss such a thing. Our orders were to go to Fort Vajeh and return safely, understood?"
The squadrons behind him all replied with a loud 'Yes'sir'. Good, least he had their attention now and not between him and the Falcon Knight. ___________

Her heart was pounding, her chest was beginning to heave, her legs were beginning to get that terrible burning feeling. Still, despite the pain, Felicia kept running, jumping, flipping, tumbling, whatever she needed to do to alert the right people about that force. Every few moments, she shot a glance backwards, up towards the wyverns that flew ominously in the distance behind her. All the smiles in the world couldn't shove away her feeling that just being fast and lucky wouldn't do it. Sure, she was wearing darker colors, and mountains were covered in dark rocks, but wyverns were hunters, by nature! Not anything she'd want to have as a pet, not one bit. Too bitey.
But what was this? In the distance, it was a group of soldiers! And she'd just left those assailants behind, so these can't be them. That only leaves a bunch of brigands (and when would they be that organized?) or the Estarcian soldiers! Oh, she wouldn't be forced to scamper about in the cold like a lost puppy, anymore! With a spin of her body like a ballerina (she was standing on a particularly smooth piece of rock), she let out a small squeal and began to rush down the stones, getting closer and closer to Cyric and his forces. Granted, whether or not they saw her (she was in a shiny orange tunic and had orange hair, so that might be easy to spot) would likely be another story...

I've been lost in loneliness, of these nights deeper than darkness I want someone to notice now... Because I want to get out of here -Cyric- Cyric and his men were moving as fast as they could, eventually some of the others began to fall behind due to the cold. This caused the Captain slow down, not wanting to leave any of his men behind. Didn't they bring cloaks? Apparently some of them did while the others thought they would be ok. Cyric was no exception either, halfway through their path he had brought out the one and only cloak he had on him. Considering the extra was given to Caterina before he left. "Are you all right?" concern for those that were cold. They gave a nod in return, noting that they would be all right.
"Captain"
The Silver Knight turned his head, looking at the fellow Paladin, one who wielded an Axe. "What is it, Cecil?"
He watched as the Gold Knight pointed out toward the mountain, seeing something barely visible but the color orange was well known. "Vincent" Cyric called, turning to the Sniper in the group. "Can you identify what that is?" The sniper nodded nodded, glancing over in the direction the captain was looking at. His eyes squinted toward the object until coming to realization what or rather, who it was. "Its..Felicia"
"Felicia? Where are the others..?" As of now, the Captain was concerned, why was she alone? Where were the others? Surely Fort Vajeh had some survivors! "Move!" Cyric commanded, tugging the reigns toward the assassin. Some fell behind but it wasn't like he had moved far anyways, just closer so the two would meet.
Ronan stopped as soon as Cyric pulled the reigns back "Felicia, Status report. Now" His voice was demanding, a little worry in the middle of it somewhere. He didn't want to believe that there were no survivors anyhow, his men weren't that weak.. ___________

Everything was happening so quickly, already! Only moments after she had begun down the rocky mountain path, the soldiers were already making their way towards her! And of all people to greet her, it just had to be Cyric! Far too high-strung for his own good, sometimes. Felicia couldn't help but crack a sweet smile as she saw him. That long, flowing hair, the way he conducted himself both on and off the field... What she wouldn't give to take him, pull of all of that armor, piece by piece, nice and slow... and throw him into a small room with a litter of adorable puppies! That would definitely cure him of that stick-in-the-mud tendency! Well, unless his oblivious self ended up falling on the poor puppies! If that happened, heavens forbid, Felicia would likely be sent into a furious, bloodthirsty rage! Killing a puppy was an unforgivable crime, in the General Felicia Justice System, after all!
But really, as attractive as Cyric was, which was quite a large amount on the hearts-for-eyes scale, he just wasn't her type. Far too work-oriented, no fun side, that he ever showed her. But, she got to travel the world all the time, so she had more time to have fun, in between jobs. Either way, she was still pining for that special someone, one who would be able to keep up with her wanderlust, plus handle himself in a fight. She loved her job, after all, and wouldn't give it up unless forced.
But wait wait wait! Cyric said "Status report, now." That was a serious voice, even more than normal! Just because she hadn't checked in the moment the chaos ended, Cyric had the right to have his pants in a bunch? Totally unfair. Shoving the complaints aside, Felicia began to catch her breath in between sentences, trying her hardest to give an apt report. If she didn't Cyric would be oh so cross with her, and that would ruin her whole day! Even if Ferdinand adopted another stray cat for her, she'd still be down!
"Well..." she said, almost lyrically. She rolled back and forth on her knees, swaying her head side to side, as if music was playing back to her. "I was out, on patrol, as you probably knew." She stuck her tongue out in a playful manner, though she almost expected the man to pull it off. "But, when we came across Fort Vajeh..." she began to calm her body, slowly turning her head backwards, towards the fort.
"It was already under fire from an unknown force, sir." Felicia began to pantomime, flailing her arms about, almost like a bird flapping, or a confused soldier. "So, I sent my men back to the capital, and I stuck around to watch the battle unfold." Her smile faded, and her gleeful tone was already deteriorating. "They... they were everywhere, all sides of the castle. Lots of horses, I think, and a batch of wyverns." Felicia didn't like Wyverns very much. They tended to do mean things like eat little woodland creatures, make loud screeches, and just be really unfriendly. "Speaking of them," she smiled once more, trying to shrug off her grim report. "It seemed like they had already made their way away from the castle. They were a ways behind me, flying over the mountains. It's only a matter of time, I think..."
Felicia hoped that the man would be able to tell that she was implying that the wyverns may very well stumble upon these troops soon. If he couldn't pick up on that, maybe he was thick-headed, on top of that thick emotional hide, too. "And the fort, sir... It fell... rather easily, I think."
In an instant, Felicia began to think of things like kittens and puppies frolicking in the den of her manor, and then curling up next to a nice, warm fire. She couldn't help but begin to smile again. Sure, she was a General, and in charge of espionage and all that dirty work, but really, with as much as she found herself doing, thoughts of adorable little animals helped bolster her nerves when it came down to it. As Felicia began to smile an almost Cheshire grin, she made sure to have the last word. "So, Sir Cyric Adair, what are your orders?" Chances are, he would hate that formal crap, especially with the huge smile she gave him. People thought smiles that big were forced, even flat-out fake, sometimes. And yeah, it was a fake smile, but not to make Cyric mad, of course...

I've been lost in loneliness, of these nights deeper than darkness I want someone to notice now... Because I want to get out of here -Cyric- The fort fell so easily? That didn't sound right..nore did it seem right. Ezekiel himself didn't put up much of a fight did he..or it just meant the enemy was stronger then imagined them to be. Cyric frowned, raising his hand to his chin, pondering the thoughts and possibilities on what he was up against. "So there's more then one..." murmuring to himself.
Wait, did she say wyverns were on their way to the castle?
The thought of that broke the captain's chain of thoughts and he turned back to the girl. "Come again? Wyverns?" That definlently wasn't good. Although he hid his expression pretty good, there was still a hint of worry somewhere that was written on his forehead or something. They were moving a whole lot quicker then the Silver Knight could possibly calculate. Right now, thinking of all that wasn't the question, but rather what to do next.
So, Sir Cyric Adair, what are your orders?"
He turned his head back to the Assassin then looked toward the mountains in which the enemies were coming from. It took him a matter of seconds before he came up with a solution for the others.
"Shion, Suou, Artemis. What are our staff supplies" He needed to know that much before he began giving out real orders.
"Artemis and I both have a Physic, but total that is two. There will not be enough through this entire battle, I can guarantee you that" Shion spoke, investigating her inventory as well as that of her sister's. "Heal staves and Mend are plenty as well as some light tomes for us to defend ourselves"
The captain nodded, that was enough. Should both Physic break, there should be enough to hold the enemy back if not defeat him or her all together.
"Plenty enough..." The brave bow that saw on his back, was grabbed and settled in his left hand. "Suou, have your units on standby. Should the enemy get past us, you know what to do." that was a definate should...though he worried about the Valkyrie and her units for there probably wasn't enough to begin with. Make do with what you have, that's all he can do right now.
He turned to the other two squads, nodding at both leaders "Cecil will follow behind, Vincent, have half of the sages remain here. The rest will follow me" last but not least was Felicia. Cyric turned his head back in her direction, still receiving that devious smile she kept on her face at all times. By now he had gotten used to it so it didn't bother him as much as it did when he first met her. "Felicia, I shall have you aid me. You know where they are coming from better then I do. I need you to be my eyes so that we do not get caught off-guard..can you do that?" right now he had to rely on her. Wyverns were one thing she hated but this was life and death at stake here.

LANCELOT In a supreme of act of blackballing (in almost quite the literal sense, since Lancelot had given his prisoner a lovely little gift in the form of a snarling, snappy baby wyvern), Lancelot was left grinning like some horrendous feral dog as one of his lieutenants held onto the waist of their prisoner. Ezekiel had had little choice in the matter, which no doubt pissed him off further- Lancelot had always accepted defectors into his ranks, but of this latest lot, only their commander had the brains to actually fit into his brigade. If he was truly going to defect, there was no better way to do it than on the back of a wyvern. If this man who'd slain a good portion of his winged brigade could stomach the thought of pushing one of those crossbow bolts through his former allies' heads, then the deal was done.
After all, once that act of treason was committed, no army would accept them into their ranks with the exception of his brigade. Lancelot's reputation concerning this had become whispers on the wind, since wagging tongues often became severed ones- in any event, no one in this new land knew of his somewhat shaky recruitment methods. The fact that he refused to blackmail his recruits about their treason- and the fact that everyone watched out for the back of their commander because of it- forged a unique bond of begrudging trust and awe, born of sheer necessity. Fight or die- it was that simple. Awe that had inspired them to defect in the first place only raised the bar.
The fact that they would be killed by the others in their ranks if they tried to commit treason again assured that everyone stayed in line.
Their commands had been clear- dive for the mountains. Attack the brigade that would no doubt be trying to fit through the narrow passes in the meantime- support that came far too late for Ezekiel's small, run down keep. In any event, the area of attack would be obvious- the bottleneck that spilled out troops was a tempting target, for certain. He would be able to launch a diversionary attack there, while executing a pincer maneuver via an attack to the back. If they bunched up against one another, it would only be to his benefit.
Granted, he admitted as he pulled his half of the brigade around, circling in a broad circle around an adjacent peak to assure that his wave of attackers would be harder to track, If these people are smart enough to hit both of us at once, we'll need to regroup and focus on scattering them, instead.
Suspiciously, on a small path a few miles away from where they engaged the enemy, Lancelot's brigade had left a startling pile of corpses, piled grotesquely on top of one another. Flies began to swarm them, but save the rats that bit at the loose skin that sloughed off of the bodies, there was no warm-blooded creature in sight.
He made sure to remember exactly where he'd left it. ۞ Luck be a Lady ۞

I've been lost in loneliness, of these nights deeper than darkness I want someone to notice now... Because I want to get out of here -Cyric- With little time to make anymore decisions, a small glimmer of light caught his attention and he turned toward the mountain. The horrified look smeared across his face as he saw the image before him..even from a far he could not describe. The uniform on the dead soldiers..in a pile..oh god this was much worse then he could have possibly imagined.
Far worse..but that wasn't all that had gotten his attention and it would not go unpunished.
"Disregard that order, Felicia" Cyric murmured..a little angered. They had company either way..Cyric raised his left hand, gesturing for the squads to move out while those he ordered to remain here. That didn't leave him with much movements now that Wyverns were flying at them already. Cyric drew his bow, reaching for his quiver that stuck to the side of his horse and quickly pulled an arrow. The object spun a little in between his fingers just as he lifted the arrow to his bow, pulling back on the string and released. It flew, striking the mount in the heart..a critical hit. Such an aim would not be easy to make the 2nd time..that was sheer luck.
Cyric made a few hand gestures with his right hand, ordering the other squads to fight back now that the enemy have met up with them. Cecil followed behind as the Silver Knight took the lead. The fight begins now and without a moment to lose, the snipers took aim.
"Tanya!" The captain called. With no further orders given, the sage flipped open a golden tome and raised her right hand. "Bolting!" a lighting bolt struck down toward the ground, damaging a wyvern unit that was flying toward a Mage Knight. It was not enough to kill it however. Cyric drew another bow, aiming at the same one that was just struck and released the string. It flew, piercing in between the helmet and the collar of the armor, right at the neck a little off from the adam's apple. "Don't dawdle!"
Surely that was enough to get the rest of the units. They were outnumbered..heavily outnumbered..but that didn't mean they would go down without a fight. "If they keep us in here, we're doomed..if we spread out, we're even more dead" thoughts and plans wandered his mind as he kept attention to the battle field. Ronan shrieked, nearly knocking his rider off when he flailed from nearly being hit by a javelin. Cyric looked up, quickly drawing an arrow. He was about to release until another arrow flew up, hitting the attacker right at the wrist. The Captain very well knew whose arrow that was.
The first wave was done and over. "Felicia, stay with Suou" Cyric took this chance and kicked the side of Ronan, ordering him to run. As mean as that was and even though he was taught never to do that, the Captain had no time to flick the reigns at the moment. One hand held the brave bow, while the other rested at the edge of his quiver, ready to draw an arrow at any moment.
Those ordered to follow, followed, while a few remained back and slowly followed after. ___________

LANCELOT Ezekiel had become astoundingly airsick- his frantic movements had so upset the wyvern that Lancelot has rolled his eyes and waved the other rider away, giving him alone permission to break ranks. While their prisoner might have been pleased to know that he was headed towards safety, Lancelot grinned- doubtless, he had no intention of letting him just sit back, unassailed by the sensations of war. No, he would make sure that Ezekiel's olfactory senses were overwhelmed by the reek of the dead. His lieutenant shrugged and circled ominously over the pile of corpses, only landing once he was sure that Ezekiel wouldn't faint from the odor.
The first wave didn't fare well against the soldiers- as the Bolting streamed down from the sky, there was a sickening crack, followed by the dark smoke and acrid smell that rose from burning flesh. The wyvern's muscle spasms were uncontrollable, sending both mount and rider into the enemy lines. Unlike the last fight, where they aimed to take down the castle walls, there was no terrain that they could tear down around their foes- and no Fortify to protect the riders as they fell to safety. With no support, healing or otherwise, death was final. The struck rider couldn't even cushion her fall as the lightning coursed through her very bones, smoking and broken as she let go of her mount and fell into the enemy ranks.
Though the wyvern may have taken out half a dozen men if she was lucky, her rider was doomed- and so was she.
Another man suddenly lurched, a gagging sound barely escaping his throat as the arrow plunged straight through his throat, punching into the back of his helmet. Spared the cleanliness of a quick passing of the arrow, he instead choked and gagged on a mixture of blood, acid, and saliva as the arrow continued to quiver, shake, and rock in his severed throat. It took nearly ten seconds for him to die in this unspeakable agony, his eyes rolling back into his skull as he clenched the reigns in a death grip, dropping his weapon and plunging into enemy lines...
His wyvern mistook the shifting of his weight for a command to dive, not stopping as she opened her jaws, aiming for a woman on a horse. Jaws snapping, the taste of blood against her tongue- all were savored for the moments she had before her inevitable downfall.
All around the skies, wyverns shuddered before rushing down to terra firma- but still, the wave itself seemed to hold, albeit very shakily. The enemy appeared to be in a bit of a rut- where to run? Would they run forward, out of the mouth of the pass... where the mountain could be hiding on either side to pincer attack? Would they move back, and lose ground at the risk of never being able to use that pass again during this skirmish? Would they hold their ground, and risk being caged in?
Lancelot's brigade had nearly come to the army's back- they would need to make their decision, and soon.
The wyverns ahead of Cyric's army split into halves, with half of the brigade climbing to the sky to throw anything they could at their foes- from blades, javelins, and lances to empty Vulnerary bottles that showered their foes in glass. The second half dove straight ahead, lances ready as riders readied themselves for the impending strain that came with pulling their spearheads from still-twitching corpses.
War was a messy affair, after all. ۞ Luck be a Lady ۞

I've been lost in loneliness, of these nights deeper than darkness I want someone to notice now... Because I want to get out of here -Cyric- All was smooth and fine up to the point where reinforcements arrived. This time from the side of them as well. They were nearly trapped..should the enemy appear from behind and pray god they don't anytime soon, they would surely be trapped. Leaving toward the mountain was no longer the case, right now Cyric had more things to worry about and that was their survival. Whether they made it out or not was unknown..but the captain very damn well was going to try.
Soon, a fairly loud shriek was heard. The silver knight shot his head behind him, toward the direction the scream was heard. Suou had barely dodged that wyvern when it had suddenly came down at her. Had it not been for the Mage Knight warning her and suddenly shoving her asside, sacrificing herself to save a healer, the valkyrie would have been dead save for the deep scratch she received in the process.
"I-I'm all right!" responding to others with a wave from her good hand. Her left shoulder was scratched, those teeth or claws..Suou didn't know which considering it came at her so fast had managed to rip out a good mount of skin and muscle that somehow still kept her up. She prayed for that poor Mage Knight in the process.
Cyric turned to Artemis, making silent hand gestures that he and his squad were going to attack the divided wyverns while the Bishop tended to the young Valkyrie twin. Artemis nodded and quickly moved toward Suou. Next, he turned to Cecil and pointed to his right, indicating he wanted the Gold Knight to take care of that side. Both the leader and men nodded.
And of course, leave it to him being a numbnut to forget a close range weapon when he actually needed it! Cyric yanked on the reigns, commanding Ronan to shift to the side as one of the wyverns swooped down past him. Tanya tucked the bolting tome under her cloak, taking out a different colored tome. She shrieked when the rider suddenly jerked his wyvern forward toward her. The sage rolled, holding the tome close to her chest and stood up. "Grant my enemies a final rest" her right hand raised up to her chest and shot it toward her attacker "Bolganone!" course, if that first one had dodged, a second one would follow.
Tanya would be fine, if she was hurt one of the healers who can help. He hadn't thought ahead on giving the sages or mage knights staves which was never a good idea..but then again..Cyric didn't expect this either.
The captain drew an arrow and lifted it to the bow right at the arrow rest, taking careful aim while the snipers backed him up. Cyric let out a soft 'tsk' and eyed his horse. "Ronan" he commanded and without any further notice, the horse pushed off the ground so he was standing on his back legs, giving Cyric enough leverage to release the arrow where it would hit the wyvern in the eye, blinding one side and possibly knocking its rider off.
Others seemed to be handling themselves pretty well, Cecil of course, had no trouble on his side but that didn't mean the Gold Knight wouldn't fall.
And again, of course, leave it to the Captain himself not to carry a close range weapon. Why did he bother doing that? Oh, right, becaues he hated using spears in the first place..so why the hell did he bother learning how to use one? Who knows, but if he despeartely needed one suppose he could steal one off the other paladins should they have any spares. Course that didn't leave him an option when a wyvern rider came swooping down toward him once more.
The Hero on Cecil's squad of course saved his hide as an axe came flying down vertically, cutting the creature off at the neck. Next, was a violent swing at the rider at the torso area, cutting through the armor and quite possibly the person in half. Not a pretty sight to see that's for sure.

(( Ehehe, I've been prepping for my midterms... And then my shotabard-cover-posting couldn't happen 'cause of her internet problems, so... |D;;; ))
Oh, she just hated wyverns, so so much! They were just so ugly and smelly and loud... not anything like those gorgeous Pegasi. If she wouldn't have a heart attack from going into the sky, Felicia would have contemplated being a Falcoknight a little bit more. But... they don't get to travel. And Felicia loved traveling, it let her encounter new and sometimes adorable things!
But, the woman held back a gasp as she saw a wyvern swoop down and deal a killing blow to one of Cyric's unit. Was that the Suou person that Cyric had mentioned? Hopefully not, or else she'd feel terrible. But still, that woman was just hit by that wyvern, and it looked painful. Even with the healer rushing to the woman's side, she still could be disoriented... and maybe they knew who Felicia was told to guard.
With a sharp inhalation, the woman sprinted across the clearing, constantly on each side to keep an eye out for incoming enemies. There probably wouldn't be much she could do, to these things. Wyverns were tough, fast, and they could fly. And Felicia... she was only fast. She wasn't too durable, and she wasn't anywhere close to herculean strength. Heck, all she'd be able to do would be hop onto a wyvern, kill the rider, and then fall to her death. Limited options, really...
But, no sense in worrying about what might not even happen! As Felicia slowed to a halt in front of Suou, she reached her hands out to her sides, stretching them. Her right went to her side, pulling a dagger from the sheath on her belt. It was a Stiletto, a dagger notorious for doing heavy damage to armored units in some cases, and being especially prone to dealing fatal blows in others. The other hand simply went along the horses's mane as Felicia began to pet the mount.
"Uhm... Are you Suou...?" Hopefully she was, or else it would be embarrassing. Sure, she didn't know Cyric's squad, but the whole "confusing one person with another" was always awkward. "You've got a very pretty horse, miss." Maybe the woman would take the compliment well, and it would keep her in good spirits. The woman could be all sorts of panicked from that attack...

LANCELOT Wyverns crashed down on their foes- riders shrieked and died. The rest had the good sense to hang back, intimidating the foe enough to assure that they wouldn't charge forward while making sure that their already shaky number of units didn't fall further. It wasn't until they heard their commander's piercing loud whistle that they roared their battle cries again.
Lancelot had rounded the side of the adjacent mountain, and swept in over the crowds- his brigade's wyverns carried boulders in their claws, and dropped them from nearly a hundred feet above the ground. The wyverns appeared happy to drop their loads- the rocks had been tough to get off of the mountainside, and some had even compromised with large loads of soil, rather than find a suitable stone. Boulders that ranged from the size of a large grapefruit to the size of a shield rained from overhead, and it was only then that the brigade dove into the chaos.
If the enemy could deal with an onslaught of rocks flattening their armor,a brigade of wyverns ahead, and another attacking from directly above, then he would happily accept defeat.
As it was, though, he seriously doubted that the enemy had the balls to stick around through all of that.

I've been lost in loneliness, of these nights deeper than darkness I want someone to notice now... Because I want to get out of here -Cyric- Wave two apparently was not going to be going down so easily. This was much tougher then the captain had hoped to expect. Wyvern shrieks were heard from a distant and this only fueled Cyric's anger. What now? What more was there to throw at them?? Oh great, reinforcements. Thank you Goddess of Estarcia.
A good amount was done and over with, but that currently wasn't the captain's problem. Boulders started dropping from the reinforcements that soared through the skies. Curses! This would only scatter them more! Cyric raised his hand. "Shion!" he called. The other Valkyrie nodded, signaling her squadron, Mage Knights and Sages to attack the falling boulders, at the very least, if some hit their people would be safe, for those who didn't make it, Goddess have mercy on them.
"Felicia!" he called, grabbing the girl's attention as she was happily patting Suou's horse. Not to be a jerk and break that up but a message needed to get to the capital and now. "Return to the capital as fast as you can. Inform the King that we are in need of assistance!" whoever they got...whoever Cornelius convinced the King who they should ask..pray to all goddess Cyric knew that they would help Estarcia now.
At the very least, the Silver Knight could do nothing but hold these off as best he could, giving Felicia enough time probably to deliver the message. How fast it would be would depend on the girl. But the enemy thought they would be done after this eh? Cyric's troops weren't so weak to be scared off like this. "Whose left..?" questioning his squads. he looked around, Cecil and his group were still up and standing, a majority of them needed to be treated which was what Shion was doing. Next was Vincent and Artemis...both seemed ok...although Vincent took a nasty wound to the head no thanks to the rocks. Artemis on the other hand was physically alright, but not mentally. Cyric should have known the bishop couldn't handle this much blood in one battle.
Tanya was all right by herself, bolting and Bolganone in hand. Other men, were either terribly injured or dead thanks to the rock fall.
"Stand your ground men.." pondering the thoughts as an arrow soared through the air, piercing a wyvern's wings as he approached behind Suou. The girl jumped, startled by the sudden attack and ripped open a gold tome. "Aura!" light engulfed both the wyvern and its rider and let out a small explosion. Suou was all right...barely...out of the rest she was the one suffering the most.

Oh, this was why she never took a liking to wyverns! They were dropping rocks! How rude! Really, the gall of the enemy, to do something so brutish? The stupid wyverns may as well be relieving themselves on the soldiers- ...Better not think of such a thing, or else it would likely happen, Felicia. You know how things like that tend to work out...
What was that? A shouting from nearby...? Felicia managed to partially tune it out, or at least the part where Cyric called her name. She'd heard the man's order to retreat, but... she began to dismiss it as something getting lost in communication amidst the sounds of combat. However, once Cyric had made his way over to Suou, who replied by Aura-ing an enemy, Felicia began to get more serious. She'd seen the look on Cyric's face, and it wasn't exactly a joking one. Sure, he wasn't very good at making a joking face, but this was different. If his face could get any more serious, it would start collapsing in on itself...
So, Felicia only nodded, giving the horse one last pet before walking next to Ronan. The woman's eyes drifted up to Cyric, giving him a careful scan as he shot an arrow into a wyvern. Would he hold up, through this battle? Or would Estarcia soon find itself with a new Guard Captain? Felicia shoved away the thoughts momentarily with a smile, giving the Silver Knight a small nod before trying to give words of confidence.
"...Sir, you knock 'em dead, got it? If you don't..." She took the Stiletto, and began to spin it in her hand, as if she were threatening the man. "...I'll make you regret it~!" She giggled as she gave the man a wink before beginning in a sprint towards the trees. It would take only moments to reach the cover of the woods, and then those degenerate flying swine wouldn't be able to get near her!
Every few seconds, the woman looked all around her, ensuring that she would not be in danger. As she entered the safety of the trees, her mind began to calm, though her body did not. She would have to go at full speed to reach the capital in a timely manner. In the meantime, she began to devise a cruel punishment for Cyric, should he not totally rout the enemy. Tend to Arlette for a week? Bathe the cat when she's at her angriest? Or maybe task him with finding her an adorable puppy... Ah, the possibilities were nearly endless!

LANCELOT It was simply too much- the ground units were shaken, but their strikes of retaliation were fiercer than Lancleot had anticipated. Nearly half of his brigade was being slaughtered to the man- not terribly surprising, as they were outnumbered- and their corpses were being trodden underfoot by horse and boot alike. Their falling dead would only take out a few of the shaken enemy units, and weapons that were thrown could not be retrieved. Though they'd taken to diving and attacking with the mounts themselves (in addition to carefully aimed slashes with their spearheads), the wyvern unit had to reduce their attacks to mere snatch and stab motions, backing away from the resulting counterattacks.
It was a poor offense, at best.
But it kept the majority of the survivors unharmed. ۞ Luck be a Lady ۞

I've been lost in loneliness, of these nights deeper than darkness I want someone to notice now... Because I want to get out of here -Cyric- By now..hopefully Felicia had reached the capital. Cyric wasn't hoping for any heavy reinforcements..no, that was the last thing he wanted. Something or someone to distract the wyverns in their way for them to make their break..that was Cyric's goal without losing anyone in this meaningless battle. Somehow that wasn't going to happen that way as he would hope to accomplish.
The enemy wasn't going to let up, that's for sure..but neither was Estarcia's captain. But what was he to do besides fight back? His bow was nearly worn out and the weapons others have carried with them are not looking too well either..once their weapons have shattered they were dead for sure. Dammit! Why didn't Cyric think ahead? He should have thought before hand that there was a slight possibility they would encounter the enemy that attacked Fort Vajeh.
Cyric turned his heads to the others. Things were definlently not looking good and if he had any hopes of getting them out, he needed to do it now
Suou screamed, raising her hands up to her head when a bottle was thrown at her then suddenly hit over the head by the shaft of some spear by a rider.
"Suou!" he could hear the other twin scream, making her way toward her sister. Cyric scanned the area, realizing if Shion was to make her way to save Suou, it would end badly. "Stop!!" he shouted, quickly moving to stop the Valkyrie in her tracks before she ended up dead, just like her sister. Tanya released another round of bolting toward the group that decided to take out the back unit and attack the younger of the twin. But that didn't last long when Vincent was surrounded as well.
Dammit!
Curses!
How could he have let this happen in a mere matter of seconds!? Can't recover, must recover, NEED to recover, now
