“No, miss. We don't have that in a 3XL, it is a mini skirt.”
As Aree Cadence forced her lips into a polite smile that did not match her condescending tone, it was immediately clear that the newest sales associate at the local Urban Outfitters was not having a good day. In fact, she was having a very, very, very, very bad day. It was the kind of day where you wanted nothing more than to curl up on the floor and take a nap so long that it bordered on a coma.
Sadly, napping didn't pay the rent on her new apartment. The apartment she now relied on to keep her from being homeless.
Few things in the world could be worse than being kicked out of the prestigious Crystal Academy because your dance scholarship no longer applied when you were physically incapable of dancing. It had taken two months of coming in with broken ribs and bruised legs for those in charge of the scholarship funds to pull the financially unfortunate girls funding and suggest she seek 'other educational opportunities'. Aree supposed she shouldn't blame them, but she that did not stop her from ding so. It was one of only a few fallbacks of being a loyal devotee of the Negaverse. However, on the short list of things that were most certainly worse, the top spot was occupied by Aree Cadence's weekend job.
There might be worse fates in life than to spend your weekdays training and your weekends working at a clothing store at the local mall, but Aree had yet to think of any. Surely, being dismembered by a pack of rabid wolves was surely better than spending her time folding clothes and straightening racks. Nealite had tried to get her to see the up side of the situation; the 25% employee discount. Unfortunately, no amount of money saved on fashionable attire could lessen the pain of having to spend eight hours each Saturday and Sunday catering to the needs of wealthy, pushy, snobby teenagers.
Sigh.
Aree glanced at the clock. Fifteen minutes. Fifteen minutes until she was free.

Azzo was browsing through. God he hated shopping. Even when it was for himself he'd rather just hang himself. He knew they had this fancy thing called the internet. But he didn't have that.
He was about to ask the pretty Sales associate if they had the particular vest he was hold in a black with pin striping of some sort. However with the tone he decided quickly that wouldn't be the best route. "Sounds like you need a good strong coffee." He said as he was still shuffling through a few more vests he'd picked up. Trying to decide on what colors to get.
He relied on food to start any conversations he didn't know how else to start. He always had, perhaps because it was a cop out. Or perhaps he felt it better to try to hit a comfort food than piss people off more with just bothering them with what they were mad about in the first place. He looked up at her, indeed she was pretty, beautiful even. Her eyes were the first thing he took in before straying to her hair. He wasn't the typical snotty, rich, teenager. Which he wasn't rich, he was just better off than most.
He seemed contemplative, "You're probably tired of hearing people ask for help but which vests do you like better?" He was thumbing through the black, green, red, purple and an orange color he'd picked up.
