The dark brown land was neatly sprinkled with a light coating of the frozen white rain that drifted softly from the gray sky. The mare watched as another small flurry began its endlessly fall coating her heavy winter coat with another dampen blanket. This was her first winter out of the forest and she found it rather it rather strange compared to the light chilling breezes that tended to gently drift snow into her old home. Now she was out in the open and some how the air seemed to whip across the fields like a fierce set of claws waiting to sink deeply into someone unsuspecting heart. Even now the wind was causing a chill to cascade down her back as she remained perched on the edged of the open field. For Faline, it was almost thrilling to see land completely covered in white. It almost looked like a white cloud had descended and kissed the earth with a pair of sweet tender lips and refused to leave it ever again. True running through the snow was a whole new other experience and was probably nothing like diving through a cloud but still the thought was rather sensational.
Faline started to make her way along the edge of the treeline. Her brilliant blue eyes remained fixed upon the field as if she was debating if it was safe to make her way across the field or if it would be rather costly to her own her life to expose herself so quickly without caution.

'Woah, woooah, woop, watch out!' Wisp called as he spiralled amongst the falling snow, trying to dance between the clumpy flakes that were dropping to join their fellow flakes on the covered ground. When they landed on his delicate butterfly wings, they weighed him down, causing him to do a frantic spiral in the air to rid himself of the clinging and damp lumps.
He was heading for the trees, planning on landing just inside as flying was obviously off the agenda in this weather. The 'watch out!' was called out as he caught sight of someone whilst he was in mid spiral, his small form weaving to one side just in time so as not to crash into the whoever it was.
On the ground he channelled the special magic or gift that allowed him to change his size, growing and stepping back as he did, so as not to crowd the other.
'Phew, it's not good flying weather.' he declared.

Faline's ears perked up there was a small wisp of a voice crying out, or so she thought. Her eyes searched fanatically around for the source but they revealed nothing. Was it nothing more than a mere sense of her imagination caused by the falling snow? Shaking her head she ignored it, the thought and possibility of her losing her mind was something she didn't want to encounter not in such a chilly time of the year.
That was until something rather large and heavy came whizzing past her head and landing with a thud on the ground.
"What in the world?..." Her voice shuddered as she resisted the idea of leaping as far away from the flying beast as possible. Maybe it was a bird she thought looking to where the thing that had fallen.
A bird, she would have been able to comprehend but a soquili with large butterfly like wings growing in size in front of her was another story. A soquili with butterfly wings and growing? Never in her life did soquili grow in size. Shaking her head she to make sure she was still awake, but he still remained in front.
What was she to say to this?
"Ummm.... are you alright?"

'Phew..' Wisp repeated, checking himself, opening and shutting his peacock-feather patterned wings a couple of times to make sure he'd not torn or injured them in any way with his haphazard landing.
'Well, not my best landing, but I'm in one piece.' he chuckled before turning to the lovely lady that was addressing him. She seemed unlike any he had met before, almost like the deer he often saw during his flights.
'I'm well, thank you. And you? I did try to avoid hitting you, I didn't hurt you with my awful approach did I?' he asked, a fine beginning that would be if he'd hurt such a pretty mare!
A cursory glance didn't show anything obvious, and she didn't look cross with him, but she would know better than he if she was hurt in any way.

Faline watched curiously as he pulled his wings out and folding them like a butterfly. The peacock appearnce was almost breathtaking it was so rare to find something a blend of such intricate vien like transpencies mixed with the wings of such a proud bird. True she had rarely seen such a breed of soquili most of them were fairly small and she had a harder time keep up with them as they seemed to dance from one flower to another. Shaking her head she was sure she was making him feel somewhat uncomfortable with her staring at them like she would have if he hadn't seen her.
"No no you didn't hurt me at all sir. Though I have to admit I didn't expect anyone to come flying out in the middle of the a small snow furry. I'm just glad you are ok with such a landing." She replied giving him a rather soft smile.
"You don't feel dizzy or anything right?" She replied agian this time peering at him a little closer.

Staring didn't really bother Wisp; he knew he was easy to look at, might be considered attractive. It was just something that he knew about himself, but not that he dwelt on it. It was just a part of him, same way that his wings, and his love of flight were part and parcel of who he was.
He raised a brow at the mare, giving her a 'caught you looking' expression and grinned. 'Snow does my wings no good at all, I headed here to wait out the weather. Of course, I never expected that my landing spot would be occupied, and so prettily as well.'
He shook his head, his mane falling across his face, and with a flick he moved out of the way again. 'Dizzy? Not me, I'm an aerial acrobat, I like to loop, dive and spin in the air.'

Faline made an odd face she had been called pretty before but somehow she never saw it herself. To her she looked like the rest of the cerynei’s small bodies, long necks and so forth. Nothing about her stood out any differently from the others of the herd, but this word still seemed to show up in conversations with others when they first met her. Nevertheless she always felt flattered by such words it was something she wasn’t use to hearing.
Faline’s face flushed red when he gave her the caught you expression came across her face.
“Well sir I have no problem sharing such a spot with you I’m just glad no one got hurt.” She replied giving a sheepishly smile on her face.
“It looks…. Fun to be able to loop around and to dance in the air like that… do you ever run into problems other than well rain and wet snow.”

'Me too!' Wisp smiled, his wings vibrating gently with his joy. He was a happy fellow generally, but even more so at the moment, having landed without incident, and made a new acquaintance, albeit an un-named one for the moment.
'Oh, forgive my rudeness,' he said, dipping his head in a polite bow, overdue but doing it anyway. 'My name is Wisp, might I ask yours in return?'
He nodded, and then straight after shook his head. Which might have been confusing on its own, but he followed his actions up by saying;
'It is fun, and very freeing to have the open skies as well as the ground to roam about. And only the occasional foolish bird that thinks I look edible when I'm in my small size.' he laughed.

“Well it’s a pleasure to meet you Wisp, my name is Faline,” she replied with a sweet smile lingering on her lips. She was rather amused to see his wings vibrate lightly with his rather cheerful personality that somehow to ooze its way over to her. She had to admit being around someone who was rather excited naturally always made her feel a little bit better than she did before hand which was always the best thing to come across on such a rather dreary day.
Faline gave a light giggle when he mentioned almost being eaten by foolish birds. Truly it wasn’t something to laugh about it would have been a terrible thing to see a small soquili eaten by a bird because of a silly mistake, but something about the way it sounded seemed more amusing than purpose.
“Oh! It would be rather terrible to be eaten for such a thing, but I guess the ability to be able to fly so free makes up for such worries. Well that and the weather we are having today. “ She replied giving him a small grin.

'Faline.' he echoed. What a lovely name!
'That suits you very much,' he said, gently giving another compliment, hoping she wouldn't think him insincere, as he truly meant everyone. Despite her not having wings (though he understood one could travel and experience the world just as well by hoof), she was a rare beauty, and he wished her to know that.
Wisp nodded. 'Yes, despite the threat of being the occasional short-sighted bird's supper, I would never give up the freedom of flight. Though there are many nice things on the ground.' he grinned, giving her cheeky wink.
'You like this weather then?' he supposed that when you didn't have to worry about wings, it could be quite a novelty, and the land certainly looked pretty when covered in a fresh fall of snow.
