Melissa shifted from foot to foot nervously as she waited for the schoolbus. It was her first day of school, and she was a ninth grader. She was scared out of her mind. What if she got lost? What if the upperclassmen made fun of her? What if the stuff was too hard? She saw the bus coming and took a deep breath, getting on and sitting down in the front seat. Nobody really noticed her as the bus continued on to school, dropping them off. She got out the map and schedule she'd been given and began walking, bumping into someone. "Hey! Watch it freshie!" Melissa backed away. "S-sorry..." She apologized quietly. The girl's eyes softened some. "You lost, kid?" She asked, and melissa nodded. "Here, lemme see your schedule." Melissa obediently handed it to her and the girl whistled." All honors. Impressive. Anyway, I'll take ya to homeroom first. My name's Sam. I don't like being called samantha." She said, handing back the schedule and walking her to her homeroom."Well, have fun... Melissa." Melissa looked at her in surprise, wondering how the other girl knew her name. "It was on your schedule. Melissa Dodger." Melissa blushed a little and smiled. "Th-thank you." She said gratefully before sitting down. She was sure that she had made a new friend. The day wore on as she got lost twice, ended up being late for her third period, and bumping into several people. By the time school ended, she was exhausted. Of course, the bus left just as she arrived at the bus lot, leaving her behind. She felt like crying until she noticed Sam. "A lot of people from the Carlson building end up missing the bus on the way home. Need a ride?" She asked, twirling her keys. Melissa smiled gratefully and nodded. Sam lead the way to her used Lexus. "Hop in." She said as she got in on the drivers side, buckling up while Melissa did the same. "How do you get to your house?" Melissa told her the directions and she nodded. She drove her home, smiling and giving her advice. "Mr. Banki will never fall for any excuse you ever give him, even when they're true. Oh, and NEVER eat the cafeteria burgers. Go for the nachos." She advised as they pulled into the driveway. Melissa nodded and unbuckled, getting out. "Thank you!" She said with a smile. Sam nodded. "I'll take you home tomorrow too." She told her before rolling up the windows and smiling. Melissa blushed at the statement, going to the door so that Sam could get out of the driveway, and smiled. ((will add more ^^))

It went like that for several weeks. Melissa would ride the bus to school, and Sam would drive her home, talking about their days, homework, teachers. One day, Sam came to her house in the morning,as she was about to head for the bus stop. "Hey... wanna ride to school?"She asked, and Melissa blinked in surprise before nodding. She got in and wondered why Sam had decided to drive her to school. Over the weeks, Melissa had developed a crush on Sam, but didn't dare admit it. "So... there's going to be a party at my house. Totally safe, no alcohol, nothing happening that's illegal or above PG-13. You wanna come?" Melissa was surprised before blushing. "Um... sure. When is it?" She asked. "This friday after school. Just tell your parents and I'll pick you up around seven. Gotta get it ready and all that jazz." Melissa nodded and they got out of the car and went to their classes. When friday came, Melissa got into what she hoped was an acceptable dress. Her mother had done her hair up elegantly with a spider clip and letting her hair fall down her back. Sam came at seven and her eyes widened. "Wow... you look... wow." She said, helping her into the car."I'll have her back before midnight!" She called to her parents, getting in and driving to her house The party was safely controlled, though everyone had a good time, and all eyes went to Melissa. "Cinderella has entered the ballroom." Someone said, and the others nodded in agreement. Sam smiled. "Good thing I'll have you back by midnight then." Sam muttered, and the party continued, sodas and food in the kitchen. After a few hours of dancing, one of Sam's friends confronted her. "Sam, when're you gonna ask her?" Sam looked nervous. "Every time I'm about to I chicken out." She said, taking a sip of soda. Her friend sighed and got Melissa, facing her. "Sam likes you. A lot." He told her, and Melissa blushed crazily. "Now, go and let her know how you feel." Melissa nodded and, mustering up her courage, went over to Sam. "S-sam... I-I..." She steeled herself and kissed sam lightly, quickly pulling back and looking down. Sam blinked in surprise, smiling and gently tilting her chin up. She kissed her cheek lightly. "Glad you like me too."She said with a grin. He took her home when the party ended, minutes before midnight, and walked her to the door, kissing her lightly."Hope you had fun."She said happily. They were together after that for the rest of their lives. The end.
