After hearing she'd be returning to Crystal Academy all of Melody's thoughts immediately turned to one thing and one thing only. How in the world was she going to get to see Ignacio on a daily basis? And yes, this was a big problem.

Apparently when she had gone there before she had never dormed and thus seeing Ignacio after school for study sessions and dinner wasn't a hard thing to come by. And perhaps she had taken such a thing for granted when she was younger, assuming that such a thing would always happen and that would be the end of that. Reality, sadly, was a harsh mistress and if she was going to see her bestest best friend in the entire world (and really the only one she could count) then something was going to have to be done.

And that something was seeing how long it would take to get from Crystal Academy to Meadowview so that she could see him after school before he were to head home in the evenings. Never mind that she didn't know her "big brother" was currently living it up as a bum and that he was currently hanging around the building she was on her way to. Honestly she was just thankful that she still had a few days until she was moved into the dorms and she had to start school again, it was how she had the sort of time for this.

The sun was slowly setting in the sky, casting gorgeous colors and the cold was only getting colder. Which made her glad for the large and fluffy jacket she was wearing over her clothing. In her hands was a gift she had for Ignacio, as she had plans to stop by his house and give him the gift once she was done here. She was hoping it would cheer him up as the last few texts she had received from him hadn't been really heartening.

Fifteen minutes later she arrived at the front of the public school and she frowned slightly. She may have to run to meet him.

Classes were made of suck and s**t, but that would never change.

Emotions had recently blown up in his face, but maybe Never would change.

He was living as a bum, that would never change. Not until he proved something.

...Whatever he was trying to prove.

Ignacio had texted Melody plenty of times before his cellphone started running dead, about the pains and the annoyances of Meadowview High and how much he wished it would just go away, bury itself into a hole, and die. Did he really need to go through six more months of this bullshit before he could be free to go to college and do whatever the hell he wanted? Hey, going to college would be great in these conditions; no income would mean complete and utter financial aid...

What he wasn't expecting was for Melody to actually show up at his school without warning. Admittedly, he probably should have expected it. She was Melody, after all. She was his darling little sister. Ignacio checked his cellphone's batteries briefly before shoving his cellphone in his pocket, heading outside of the school building to take in from fresh air. And, honestly, he was about to go back in...

...When he saw Melody. "s**t!" whispered Ignacio, frustrated, before turning tail and attempting to run back into the building. While he adored his little sister, he really didn't want her to see him in this state. Not now, not ever, no matter how good of a friend she was. He was the big brother, he was the comfort and the protector and the defender, not the one to be coddled over.

Like she would no doubt do to him if she actually saw him.

Yes, Melody would coddle her big brother if she saw him like he was. She would also tell him exactly what he should be doing as opposed to hiding out in the school, freezing his freckled a** off. Of course Lady Luck didn't seem to keen on being on his side today.

Because while she didn't hear his whispered curse at seeing her at the school, no Ignacio she had no idea you were there, she did hear what sounded like some one running around on campus. Curiosity got the better of her and, with a tilted head, the ganguro girl was chasing after the footsteps in hopes of finding out what was making the noise. She was hoping for an animal and not some creeper, but the thought of an animal out in the cold made her worry for it's safety.

And thus made her all the more determined to chase it down and save it from the cold. Her parents would surely understand, right? Oh please don't let it be a creeper.

Quick, Ignacio. Quick. Think of excuses.

I'm playing a peasant in the upcoming secret mid-semester play. I just was trying to get into costume. They told me to wear my uniform today and I did well with it.

Right. That was a fantastic excuse. He could do this! Just ruffle his hair a little more, rub that muddy rock on the bottom of his pants leg... there! Perfect! He looked like he could pull off being a peasant just fine! Excuses were lovely things and Melody knew him, she would believe that he would do something this obnoxious just for a play.

Because, honestly, he would. The theatre, in some sense, brought Ignacio to life.

In all of his comedic ridiculous glory. And that was how he faced Melody right now, when she happened to nearly ram into him as he turned a corner. Deep breath, explanation. "Oh, hi Melody! Never expected to see you here!" His laugh was of the weird 'buahahaha' nervous variety that he gave off whenever he was nervous, but he carried on from it hoping that she wouldn't notice. "I must look a mess right now. Ugh, I just thought I would get totally in character with the whole 'peasant' thing for the mid-semester play. It's going to be a pain to wash this stain out."

The nervousness could be from the fact that he looked such a mess. Ignacio's ego certainly wouldn't appreciate looking completely unattractive even if he was intended to look completely unattractive.

Having not expected to run into a solid form her height or taller, oh no it was a creeper!, she stumbled back with a small noise of surprise and maybe fright. And no, it wasn't that loud because even in a wrong situation she was gentle and soft spoken. For the most part.

Then she heard Ignacio's voice and the world was okay again, though she was curious about his being at the school on the weekend. What sort of trouble had Ignacio gotten into now?! She snorted when he said he didn't expect her to show up at the school. Well of course not, it was the weekend and she wasn't even going to this school!

And then she heard his nervous laugh and she was suspicious all over again. An eyebrow raised and he could likely see her start to stare at him like she knew. She didn't, but she could at least look like it before a smile graced her features and she left the topic alone for now.

"A school play? How neat! I bet your role is going to be so awesome, you'll totally knock them dead!" Once again she was the adoring little sister who thought her brother could do no wrong. Ah, if only they were related by blood! "But yea, I bet momma is gonna have such a hard time getting that stain out. It looks like such a nasty one."

Oh look, her was safe for now.

Oh thank his lucky stars his lie had worked.

All of that time trying to deliver jokes without cracking a smile had done some good after all. "Eh, I try to do more things for myself now." This was actually true, but for different reasons than Melody might infer. "It's not going to be long before I head off to live in a college dorm, so I might-as-well figure out what I'm actually doing, right? Though I keep walking away from the dryer and leaving it on too long. I burned the elastic in a pair of pants..."

Ignacio did actually know a thing or two about laundry, thanks very much, even if he had only known it from boredly flicking through the channels when he was in the hospital for about a week. "But my role is going to be terribly awesome! I mean, I play a peasant. The peasants always say the funniest things in general. Haven't you ever seen those hobos with signs? I love the really honest hobos, that tell you all they really want your money for is booze."

Yup, this was a perfectly casual conversation between little sister and big brother. She didn't suspect a thing, and for now, Ignacio was safe and sound with a typical amused grin and oddly messy appearance.

It worked for now, but she was still suspicious. And he better be careful about what he said cause she could end up doubting him at anytime. be on your toes, boy!

"Ew, burnt elastic! That had to smell so horrible. I remember one time papa was doing the ironing cause momma had a big meeting in the morning and he melted the elastic of her best pants, the entire wash room smelt so gross!"

A giggle left her and she brought up a hand to hid it like the good little wealthy daughter her mother was trying to bring her up to be. But the action caused the present she had been holding to drop to the ground and she let out a small noise of alarm and moved to pick it up. What a perfect way to remind herself of the gift for him! And she was totally missing his line about hobos.

"Oh yea! You know, it's kind of a good thing I found you here because I was going to go stop by your house." She held the gift out to him when she straightened, a softer and more loving smile on her face then the one she usually showed people. If one didn't know better they could mistake the love in her actions as more then what it was. "A Christmas gift for you!"
PostPosted: Sat Jan 09, 2010 11:46 pm

Ignacio forgot all concerns when he was presented with a gift, for him! A Christmas gift, a late Christmas gift, but a Christmas gift nonetheless and Ignacio's ego would never let him not like being presented with gifts. He almost too eagerly snatched the gift from her, looking at the wrapping paper excitedly. "Ooh, now I feel bad for having nothing for you!" This was mostly a lie, actually, for the moment. Ignacio would always be an egocentric creature.

He would probably feel more bad and make or "get" her something later. "This is so nice, thank you," said Ignacio, without even opening the gift yet. But, with that said, he grabbed the present and all but destroyed the wrapping paper in an attempt to get it off and reveal the present inside.

A camera! Ignacio didn't have a camera--most of the things he had taken with him when he moved into Organ Pines, apparently, never made it out--but he certainly liked cameras. He could feel like a super private investigator when he took pictures and then looked at them closely to see if he could find out the secrets Destiny City held. He also just liked taking pictures, sometimes. Photography was a hobby that frequently found itself present in his cycle of interests, even if the interest only lasted for a couple days at most.

Like most things to him, really. "Thank you, Mellie!" He would have hugged her, but he probably smelled worse than his appearance implied. So, instead, he lifted the camera and looked at Mellie through the lens. "Smile!"

"Please, like you really have to get me something in return! I'm just glad you like it~"

Personally she thought his ego needed to take a back seat every once and awhile, but she let it go for now and simply watched him undo the paper with as much excitement as she had just a few days ago. A giggle left her and she waved her had dismissively until the camera was pointed her way.

Giving the biggest and sweetest smile she could, Melody let one eye close before she stuck her tongue out in a fashion her mother would hardly let her get away with. "Cheese!"

Click!

Ignacio looked down at the viewscreen and grinned at the picture that was taken. Ms. Klein wouldn't take very nicely to that picture, but Ignacio found it the perfect way to describe his goofy little sister. Even if Ms. Klein insisted she was the perfect little girl, Ignacio knew far better than that. No prim and proper lady would have insane wheelchair races in a hospital after tricking their Mama into getting them a wheelchair, after all.

"Perfect!" Then, Ignacio turned the camera to himself and posed horribly, like he was trying to take a bad MySpace picture. When he observed it afterwards, he realized just how horrible he actually looked up close, scrunched his nose at it, and then went back to the picture-taking screen. No need to give Melody time to get a closer look at his actual facial features...

With a pause, he said, "I'll have to get you something later. Promise. Don't be surprised when you get a random gift in your bag!" This was more honest than the initial reaction about feeling bad about not getting her a gift. This was when the typical big brother guilt kicked in.

She giggled and moved a bit closer, her giggles into laughter when he did the bad myspace thing. She never did understand the idea behind such emo looking things that never showed a person as they really were. Shivering slightly as a breeze blew past the blonde shook her head and placed her hands on her hips.

"And I all ready told you that you didn't have to get me anything." Not that it would stop him and she wouldn't complain when he did. "Mmm, but I'm sure you're curious as to why I was even here in the first place huh? Honestly I think Momma would kill me if she knew I had stopped by here." because as far as her mom knew she was simply going to pay the Araya's a visit to give their son a Christmas present.

And Ms. Klein loved the idea of Melody giving Ignacio a gift. He knew that, what with all the weird smiles she always gave him and the awkward nudges she gave him when Melody was strolling off to do something. It was like she was egging him on for something he really didn't care to do; no offense, Mama Klein, but Melody was his sister. Ew.

"I am kind of curious why you're here!" It's a good thing that she came here instead of going straight to his house just to find out that he hadn't been home since Wednesday. That would have made his little sister worry and then come find him to coddle him, and that would have been the last thing Ignacio wanted to happen. "Mind filling me in? Might have to tell campus security that you're trying to break in and should be deported back to your prissy school."

Ignacio laughed, amusement dancing in his golden eyes.

A squeaked eeked out of her as brown got almost impossibly wide. Would he really tell campus security on her?! A few tears welled up in her eyes as she pouted hardcore at him. That was right, hard core pouting, bottom lip jutted out just so.

"B-but I haven't started up school yet! Momma wants me to wait another week just to make sure I'm fully okay." Ugh, she didn't really like the idea of going to a school full of snooty people who were like her momma and yet worse. Because really her mother was unintentionally snooty. "A-and I was just here cause I wanted to see how long it would take to get from Crystal to here so I can see you every day after school, even if it is for a little bit."

Darn those curfews and such! The only reason she was dorm-ing anyway was because she was tired of hearing her mom talk about how she needed a better sense of fashion. Gosh darn it all she liked the way she dressed! Make-up included.
PostPosted: Sun Jan 10, 2010 1:03 am

Ignacio couldn't help laughing even harder at the pout. No, he wasn't going to tell on her for anything (why would he, it was Meadowview, not Crystal or Hillworth with their intense security) but it was funny to see his little sister pout. "No, no, I'm not going to tell on you. This is Meadowview, not your prissy school with your prissy guards."

He wasn't really a fan of Crystal, except for the idea of there being lots of attractive women all living in one place for him to admire. But honestly, he probably couldn't stand half their attitudes long enough to even want to deal with them besides admiring their figures. Half of the people at Crystal had their heads so far up their asses that all they could see was their intestines and still think they looked like the best thing that had ever happened to the world.

"That'd be nice, seeing you after school. Something to brighten up my miserable days." Grayson did that too, when Awkward wasn't busy rearing its ugly head with Never taunting him for even daring to invoke its name.

When he laughed she went from fearful and possibly crying to pouting and glaring. "Urgh, you're so mean to me!" Really she should have known better, but it was his fault for taking advantage of her like that. Oh the perks of being a big brother.

Her expression softened at his words though, glad that her wanting to see him after school wouldn't interfere with his ego or any plans he might have made for after school. Seeing as he was really the only friend she had as of right now, she needed more obviously, it made her happy to know that his being at another school wouldn't separate them.

"Oh! Momma wants to know when you can come over for dinner with us. Maybe bring Momma Araya and your papa too?"
