A large screen towered over the stadium. A spinner with twelve different battle field locations displayed on the screen, waiting to be choosen. One of the trainers jumps to the control room and presses a big green button to start up the spinner. The screenshots of each battlefield light up as they are passed by the spinner. Finally, the light stops on...
ELECTRIC FIELD
The field is completely flat; no bumps or hills can be located. Standing at the four corners and at the exact center of the field on each side are six electrical towers that stand at six feet in height. These create a static discharge across the field and in the air itself for one reason: a metal piping that outlines the edges of the field floats several feet above the towers themselves, held up by the discharge. During the battle, the piping can release lightning at random points on the field due to the amount of buildup them possess. This ensures that your pokemon stay moving during throughout the entire battle.
This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to ELECTRIC type attacks.

A fourteen-year-old girl walked into the stadium, her eyes wide and her smile growing at the sights and the sounds of the area. She watched from a distance all the battles of the elder trainers, and wished just once she could get the chance, and finally it was possible.
Stepping into the box, she watched with wide eyes as the stadium changed and came alive with a static charge. At her side, a black meowth glared at the lightning that struck every so often, his fur standing on end from the static the field emitted.
Catty stretched her arms out and yelled off across the stadium, "Thanks again for helping me!" She said with a wave, before lowering her voice and looking to Nyx, "We can do this Nyx, let's do our best for our first time!"

Alice hopped out of the control room and took her place at the other end of the stadium. The officer smiled at the girl and waved back.
"Not a problem at all!"
A nervous twitch crossed her face. She'd just met her pokemon partner and wasn't sure how well this was going to work.
"Chewy! Lets go!" The little red and white ball hit the stadium floor and opened and in a flash of light the little poochyena appeared. Tail wagging he looked around, sniffing this and that.

A sharp whistle sounded through the stadium and the Poochyena's ears perked up.
"Chewy, howl and get ready for battle!"
Tail still wagging, the little canine let out an excited howl.

Catty eyed the creature with an unsure look, not quite realizing just what kind of pokemon it was. Instead, she just shrugged and nodded for Nyx to go on the field. He looked to her with a sour expression before walking out with a flick of his tail, when suddenly a screech was heard as he nearly got hit by the shock of the field.
Nervously, he circled back and forth, ear flicking only a moment at the howl before he went back to watching the field.
"Nyx! Use growl, and keep moving to avoid the field effects...!" Catty called, and Nyx let out a cute little rowl before moving back and forth on hsi side, his eyes looking toward Chewie and his body posture falling into a somewhat playful one.800/800

The little dog heard the other pokemon growl and his tail wagging slowed almost to a complete stop. That wasn't very nice... he sniffed the air and found the cat's scent.
"Chewy! Charge and Toxic!" Alice whistled twice this time. If she could associate certain whistles with an attack, she could teach her partner to attack without giving away their plan to the opponent.
Poochyena let out a bark and took off across the field, darting this way and that. When he was within range he opened his maw and made a sickening hacking noise followed by the expulsion of the toxic purple goo.

The girl's eyes grew wide at the appearance of the goo and the noise the pooch made, and Nyx froze at the sight of it and was suddenly hit. He let out a hiss as he rolled around, attempting to get the goo off and seeming to twitch lightly.
As he stood up, there was still more on him, but he was able to quickly shake it off with a twitch of his tail showing the pain.
"Nyx, use Hypnosis!"
Nyx nodded before sitting on his haunches and widening his eyes, swaying hsi tail back and forth in a soothing motion in attempt to lull the foe to sleep.775/800

Chewy's dashing slowed to a trot as Nyx started his hypnosis. He followed the cat's tail back and forth... back and forth... back and - A loud clap broke his concentration and he growled at the tricky pokemon.
Alice shook her hands, that clap had hurt...
"Ow... Chewy, don't fall for that! Bite!"
Hackles raised, Chewy darted forward and closed the rest of the distance between him and the Meowth. He lunged, jaws opened wide, showing the rows of sharp teeth ready to dig into the little cat.

Another hiss was heard from Nyx as he was hit by the bite, but Catty was ready to retaliate, avoiding the fact that her cat was getting hurt.
"Nyx, try scratch before he can get away!"
Nyx raised his paw and quickly let out his claws, attempting to slash back at the hyena to make up for the bite he just received.675/800

Yip! He released the meowth from his jaws and recoiled, his tail tucked under his body briefly before he shook his scratched nose and growled.
Alice winced as the claws raked across Chewy's face.
"Toxic, one more time!" Two more whistles. Sooner or later, Chewy would associate those whistles with that attack.
The little hyena seemed to grin before he gave another hacking cough and spit out the ball of poison goo at the Meowth for a second time.

Nyx was ready for it this time, and as soon as he heard the hacking, he rushed out of shooting distance and dodged it for good measure. Fluffing his coat, he was feeling much better, until another stray bolt from the field nearly singed his wiskers.
"Okay...Let's try a bite, Nyx!"
Nyx seemed to nod before rushing toward Chewy and opening his mouth to attack with the gleaming fangs.675/800

Sharp needle teeth sunk into the back of Chewy's neck. He let out a pained howl and started flailing around, desperately trying to throw the mean little cat off of him.
"Chewy! Calm down! Use rock smash!"
Chewy lept up into the air and twisted his body so that Nyx would absorb the brunt of the rock smashing force.
