Looking for a specific spell or rite? Just ask. Someone may have one in their Book Of Shadows. Have one you would like to share, feel free.

i am in need of a healing spell. my friend's mother has recently been diagnosed with some sort of diabetes that will require surgery if it doesn't get better in a few months. do you know of any that might be helpful? i'd like to have it before the new moon, if that is possible.

Before I recomend a healing spell I need to know, first will you have the friend's mom's permission? Unfortunatly in Wicca, you cannot preform any ritual on a person without their constent.

Though you can send healing thoughts and enegry to them, if they except it, great, if not the energy will return to the Earth.

A cheaty-way to heal. My mother had surgery, but is Christian and would not agree with my rituals, so I gave her an Amethyst Pyramid as a gift. It is supposed to be a healing stone if I recall correctly. When I was 18 I didn't believe in Witchcraft briefly, but I was always sick, so my boyfriend at the time gave me an Amethyst stone necklace and had me where it all the time. He didn't tell me why. When I started feeling better he told me why. So there are some options. If you want I can find more healing stones for you.

I wanted to perform a blessing on my brother, but he would not let me, so sadly I couldn't even though I wanted to so badly.

other religions don't so much worry about permission, like Voodoo. Let me know either way. I can probably figure something out for you.

You'll need her permission first, if you believe in Karma or a similar system.
If not, or if you want to take the karmic kick, then go ahead.
It would help to have a close relationship with her, but if you don't, it's fine.
I don't believe in writing spells for people or sharing ones I wrote personally, because spells work better when you put your energy into making them. However I can tell you how to write your own. First, you'll need to decide on the type of spell you want to use (e.g. energy working, candle magick, meditation, crystal magick, sigils, talismans, etc.) I'll use crystal magick, candle magick, and talismans as examples. Then you need to decide what elements to incorporate into the spell.

For crystal magick, are you going to use a crystal grid or are you going to use a single stone? Are you going to charge the stone(s) itself or are you going to use it to send energy?
For candle magick, are you going to use the candle to burn something? Or are you going to burn just the candle?
For talismans, are you going for simplicity or complexity? What symbols will you include?

Next, you'll need to decide the types of each thing you are including. Tables of Magickal Correspondences help here. For a crystal magick spell, you may want to use Citrine, Sodalite, or Rose Quartz. For candle magick, you may want to use blue candles. For talismans, you may want to use blue ink, symbols of water, or the names of gods and goddesses associated with healing.

Now you would want to structure your spell. The structure of a spell might go like this:
Clearing of the energies residing in a crystal.
Giving it a blessing.
Charging it with healing energy.
Anointing it with essential oil.
Instructing it to heal the person you have in mind.
Activating the crystal.

I said I wouldn't write a spell, but I figure I might as well to give you a clear understanding of how to do it. So here is a satchel spell. Remember a spell can be as simple or complex as you want, and can include anything your intuition tells you put in.

MATERIALS NEEDED:
-Sodalite
-Lavender oil
-Blue candle
-Small white satchel
-small square of paper
-Blue pen
-Burning dish
-Salt
-Water

PROCEDURE:
-On the square of paper, draw with the pen a simple triangle in a circle. Inside the triangle write the name of the person for whom the spell is for. In the spaces between the circle and triangle, write the effects desired. Around the circle write "By my power I will that [so-and-so] be healed of [this-and-that]. So mote it be!" On the reverse of the paper, draw the alchemical symbol for water, and around it write invocations for the Goddess of healing. Fold the paper in half.
-Take the candle and annoint it with the lavender oil, visualizing it filling with blue-white healing energy. When you feel it is full, light it.
-Light the paper on fire, and set it in the burning dish. See the blue-white light gather into the talisman as it burns. Affirm "Behold, I place the energies of this candle into this talisman."
-Take the Sodalite stone and hold it above the flame. See the blue-white energy from the candle rise and be absorbed by the stone. Affirm "Behold, the energies of this candle I place into this stone."
-Take the salt and cleanse it of negative energy. Do the same for the water, and mix the two.
-Use the saltwater to snuff out the candle and the paper. Affirm "Behold! The flames are consumed by the masculine and feminine energies, and sent out into the universe. By my will, so mote it be!".
-Place the remainder of the candle, the stone, and the ashes from the talisman into the satchel, and give it to the person for whom you are performing the spell (if you have their permission) or leave it in a place where unwanted energy won't reach it, or you can bury it, thus further sending your energy to the Goddess.

i suppose i can understand that...i wouldn't want someone casting a spell on me without knowledge or permission. cool

I suppose it comes down to harm none. Even if your intentions are in the right place, doing something to someone without their knowledge can still be harmful.

I found a ritual intended for cats on www.arkansaspagans.com it can give you a good base to work from, Dsay. Let me know if you try it and if it works. Muffin has been fighting a cold. He got over it, he was fine, but now he seems to feel hot, like he has a fever. I cant afford to take him to a Vet just yet. I keep a statue of Bast on my altar (Dsay has seen it) It is to protect my felines. It seems to work. (May Mr. Kitty, if he's passed on, be in her graces.)

Cat (Animal) Healing by Storm

Materials:

Statue of Bast and/or Sekhmet or of a black cat.

Picture of the cat (or animal) to be healed, or at least their name

written on a piece of paper. Green thread. A blue or white candle. Incense: lavender, lotus, or myrrh.

Timing: Healing should be done any time it is needed; repeat the

spellworking on the next Full Moon to reinforce and strengthen

the healing power.

Other Advice: Be certain that the animal in question wants a healing, otherwise you will be fighting against their intuitive instincts. Cats and other animals usually have more spiritual sense than humans when it comes to knowing when it is time to leave life. Often times the magician must learn when to let go and let life end in its natural course.

The Spell:

Set up a little altar or sacred space, arranging the statues to

the rear of your working area. Place the candle to the side of the

statue or inbetween if you are using two statues. Light the candle and

the incense.

With the photo or paper with the sick animal's name on it before

you, ask the Goddess Bast to grant a healing. Take as much time as

you feel you need to express this petition.

Sit quietly for a time, visualizing a stream of healing blue

light comming from the candle and blending into the picture or paper

before you.

When the blue light ceases, take the green thread and cut off a

piece thirteen inches long. If you are using a paper with a name

written on it, roll the paper into a small cylinder and wrap the green

thread around it several times, tying it when you are finished. If you

are working with a photo, just loosely wrap the thread around the

photo. Do the thread wrapping while chanting:

"Lady of cats, large and small,

Answer my entreating call.

Cast out the sickness, bring in the Light.

Grant loving healing through Thy might.

Renewing green, healing blue,

I bind these energies into you.

As threads around your image wind,

Perfect healing to you I bind."

Lay the thread-wrapped photo or paper near the statue, leaving

it thereuntil the candle is burned out. Burn the thread and paper

(if you are using a photo, remove the thread to be burned and return the photo to the proper person) and dispose of the ashes and candle wax.

Cat Healing Spell

Items Needed:

Lavendar colored votive candle

Catnip

bowl to burn candle in

Place candle in bowl and light. Sprinkle catnip over flame while

saying the following:

"Magickal Herbs of root and flower

Give this candle healing power.

Let all sickness from (name of cat) flee,

When all is burned, so mote it be."

As the catnip burns, imagine a white light surrounding your cat

and "burning" away her sickness. Once you have the cat completely

surrounded with the white light, begin to meditate and pray for

her health. When you feel you've given the cat all the energy you can, slowly release the energy and let the light die down.

Gods and Goddesses of dogs:

Anubis (ancient Egyptian associated him with them)

Artemis (she had hunting dogs)

whats odd is I looked up other God dogs and I found Xolotl an Aztec God with a man's body and a dog's head. He is associated with death and he escorted people to the underworld. That sounds like Anubis to me. Just another proof that Aztec and Egypt had contact. A lot of their Gods were similar to the Egyptians, they both performed retainer sacrifice and had pyramids. How odd.

I know you prefer Artemis, but i'd probably shoot for Anubis as a God for the ritual, since the Egyptians would bury their beloved dogs in his city, so there is a closer association.

i have no idea what kind of diabetes, but i believe the surgery is because the stints she has in aren't working and they're going to try a more permanent approach. i don't really know any of the detalis...sorry...
