User ImagePluck! Pluck! Pluck!

Dream-Weaver placed each flower in a pile she had going. This particular flower only grew when the Trickster was shining in the sky during Night. The petals, when dried were good by their self. The seeds were just a bonus found in some flowers, and they increased the stupor the flowers had.

The petals were white as the flesh of a cave fish, with black lines running to the throat. Truly, they were beautiful.

It was terrible that she would have to pluck them and crush them for a poor kimeti's drink, who didn't know why he was unhappy and had to ask her.

Pluck. Pluck. Pluck.

User ImageLast Whisper had to stretch her legs . She had been happily asleep, curled up around her favorite Treasure, when all of a sudden she had woken up for no reason whatsoever. She had tried very hard to fall back asleep, but after an hour of struggle and tossing, turning, and re-arranging, she had just gotten up and left her den for a mid-night walk.

Out in the open, Last Whisper was taking in big deep breaths to try to calm herself down and was spinning her ideas over and over, trying to figure out why she couldn't sleep any more. Mid-thought she caught something out of the corner of her eye. She stopped dead in her tracks and turned her head to look. What she saw was a doe, a chocolate one.... but what was she doing?

Last Whisper stalked closer and threw out a greeting, curiosity winning out over her usual awkwardness. "Hello, stranger. What've you got there?"

Dream-Weaver was so busy picking the flowers that she didn't notice the doe approach. When the other spoke her greeting, she flinched and let out a little noise. Realizing that the other was just another kimeti, she relaxed.

"Hello! I am picking some of these flowers! What are you doing, wandering about so late?"

Some kimeti were like that, she realized, and this could be one of them. The other was dark, dark, dark, with hints of gray and green, and eyes of burning red.

When the other doe accepted her greeting, Last Whisper figured it was alright for her to move closer, so she did so. She came over to take a look at what the other doe was plucking, and true to her word, it was flowers, and beautiful ones at that.

"I can't sleep. Restless legs.... or something... I guess... I'm not sure, though..." She ducked her head down to take a closer look at a flower, with it's mesmerizing whiteness, so bright that it seemed like they glowed.... but perhaps it was just a trick that the moon was playing on her eyes. "I thought a walk and a good stretch of the legs would do me some good..."

"Hmm, yes, I find walking out sleep helps sometimes as well." she replied as she continued to pluck the flowers. There was quite a few to pluck yet, and she wanted them all.

Her pile was fairly large, but dreams were getting stranger and stranger lately.

"Would you like some help? It look like there are a lot left to get to!" The dark doe said, thoroughly intrigued by the picking of the pretty flowers. But she waited for permission before she actually touched any of them, not wanting to offend the other kimeti or anything of the sort.

"My name is Last Whisper, by the way." She offered, to ease herself more than anything.

Yes, you may help if you like. I am going to use them to help kimeti with their dreams. I am Dream Weaver," she replied.

It would certainly go faster, and be much more enjoyable.

'It's very nice to meet you Dream Weaver. But... what is wrong with their dreams? What will these flowers do to them?" Her head tilted, contemplating how a simple thing such as a flower could help a kimeti with dreams. And help how?

Thoroughly confused, she picked a flower gently and placed it alongside the others that had already been pulled up.

"Well," she replied, "I will crush the flower and stalk into a paste, which the kimeti in question will eat raw or with a drink or fruit. And the flower will give them very vivid dreams, which they describe to me, and I will then give them peace. If they need it.

As she said all of this, she continue picking. There was a small bug on one, which she shook off.

"They're going to eat the paste from these flowers? Yuck! But pastes are all mushy and... ewww...." Then she realized that the other part of the answer was even more cryptic than the first time she had asked.

"Wait, so you're going to do what? They eat the paste.... have dreams... and then you give them peace? I... I don't understand..."

Dream-Weaver gently laughed at the other doe's confusion. I was a simple fact that some kimeti didn't know about what some flora could do to one's perception.

"Yes, dear, the paste is usually bitter tasting. That is why some kimeti choose to ingest it with other material."

Considering the other half of the question, she chewed on the current stalk she had a little. The question was curvy and tipsy, but so was her previous answer.

"I do not give them literal peace. Sometimes kimeti come to me in distress, wondering about what the Motherfather wants of them, or whether they should take a step forward in their life. Oftentimes, such answers are already in their head, they just don't realize it. So they dream, and their dreams tell me much."

Pluck. Pluck. Pluck.

Hopefully that answer wasn't too confusing. Her art was an imprecise and imperfect one, albeit fun.

She paused in her picking as she listened to the other doe explain what she did. The paste made sense, she guessed, though it did sound kind of gross.

But then the part about the dreams... She explained it more, and it was beginning to make sense to Last Whisper, but she still had one more question to clear up some last doubts.

"So you... I mean, these flowers make dreams... and then you... solve the dreams? Explain what they may mean?" Pretty sure she was on the right track, but wanting to be sure.

Last Whisper was a very good listener, thought Dream Weaver.

"I explain them if I can, but sometimes they are not clear even to me."

Tonight's haul was going to be good. She didn't know if there were any more of these fields anywhere, but this was certainly what she needed.

Last Whisper picked the last few flowers that she could reach without invading the other doe's personal space. She nodded at what the other doe said. It made sense to her now. But what this sort of dreaming really did...

"Perhaps I will have to find you someday then. You could explain my dreams to me, maybe help me find a new Treasure." She smiled sweetly at Dream Weaver and then cast her glance back down at the pile of flowers.

"Do you need help bringing these home also...? Or do you have a log to put them in?" She figured that if the doe had a log to put them in, she could easily just roll it on her own, but she wasn't sure, and so politely asked if her help was still needed.
