Azzo was sitting outside on the bleachers. He was trying to get his stuff done before he left for the day so he didn't have to lug books all the way home.
Carrying them short distances around the school was bad enough. Of course it was the last day but he was sure he could manage to stash the books back in his locker before he went home.
He was sitting there bundled in a coat and long pants, who in their right mind wore shorts in this weather? The snow had stopped falling for now, and Azzo was finding it hard to write in these gloves his grandma had knitted.
"Ugh..... if only it wasn't so cold out here...." He wrinkled his nose.

Ignacio had gotten used to the cold.
He hadn't really bothered to change out of his clothes since he had stormed out of his house, since he would need his uniform for the rest of the week anyway. Sure, Ignacio was wearing his winter jacket, but his freckled legs were showing quite obviously to the world as he strolled along outside, backpack with attached sleeping back slung over his shoulder.
Ignacio intended to sneak back into the school within a couple hours (there would still be people there, after all, for clubs or whatever), but in case it slipped his mind it was best to be prepared. Still, for now, it looked like he planned to go on a camping trip with his school books and his school uniform in the middle of winter. Even if it wasn't snowing, it was still cold and he was probably still insane.
Nevertheless.
Ignacio lifted his head from the patterns of snow on the ground when he heard a strangely familiar voice griping about the cold. When he took a closer look, the man really didn't look familiar, but for some reason he felt familiar, like Ignacio had known him all too well at some point. If Ignacio had to take a guess, he probably went to Organ Pines too.
"It's not that bad out here," offered the freckled camper, with an amused chuckle. "Could be worse."

Azzo looked at him, he looked Familiar too. His brow lofted, "You're Crazy." He said as he looked back at his books, "It's horrible for doing homework in."
He leaned on his book, wincing slightly when he hit a tender rib, "And you're crazy for wearing shorts. I hope you know that."
He looked at Nacio, "You don't happen to have this dumb science class do you?" He tilted his head curiously before closing and holding the book out to Nacio.

"Then go back inside," suggested Ignacio, with an amused chuckle. "The doors are still open. Plenty of clubs meet on Friday afternoons, though they're mostly the more nerdy clubs for people who don't really have lives." He shifted his backpack and his weight again, leaning over slightly because of the sheer amount of weight he was carrying around on his back.
Still, he didn't seem all that bothered by it. "Earth Science? Unfortunately. Apparently I need it to graduate, even though I don't really give a s**t about it. Yes, the planet is made of various different rocks and some are made in space, we get it already." Ignacio took the book from the pasty boy in front of him (did everyone end up looking pasty in these Meadowview uniforms?), glancing at the assignment was doing. Personally, the freckled boy hadn't even thought of the assignment yet. He would probably rush to finish it on Sunday afternoon and achieve a mediocre grade, which was honestly all he really needed.
"Why?" Ignacio handed the book back to the man with hair resembling hairy dog ears, before glancing into his eyes curiously. Had they known each other well at Organ Pines? He seemed more familiar that some of the other people he had met so far from the place had been, people like Calintha and Elle, but he couldn't pick out why...
...No matter.

Azzo watched him, "Because I fail at Science..." He muttered under his breath.
"I also don't feel like taking these home, Speically having to lug them around with broken ribs... well sorta half broken.... they're kinda healing..." He sighed as he was looking at the book and opened it back to the page.
"I don't know why we have to have this stupid class to get out of here anyways.... at least I can't blow something up in it... I guess..."
He had his pen behind his (actual) ear. He was still trying to figure out these compounds.

It looked like this boy wasn't going to take his suggestion to head back inside. No matter, that was his problem if he wanted to stay out here and continue to freeze. Ignacio was fine with the weather. Hearing that this boy had broken ribs, though, certainly was enough to confirm the inkling that he was from the lovely Organ Pines as well. The list that his mother had given him had said something about a boy with broken ribs who would have to stay longer.
...What was his name again? Ignacio pursed his lips, gaining the typical curious look he gained when trying to solve his favorite new Whodunnits. Oh right, Azzo. Azzo Crowley or something like that. "I'm not too great at science either," replied Ignacio with a shrug. He probably would be a lot better at it if he applied himself. As it was, Ignacio simply didn't care and he understood the basic concepts easily enough, so he did mediocre.
"I don't even know why I have to be here this year." Ignacio laughed. "Technically, I've already finished all of my standardized requirements. At this point, it's really just finishing out the four years so the government doesn't get agitated. Then I can leave and study something more interesting, or not study something more interesting, or maybe go dance and sing with the greats, or decorate houses like some kind of modern fashionista, or," Ignacio had an embarrassing tendency to ramble.
Well, embarrassing if he had actually cared, anyway. And he didn't. "Anyway. Maybe I can help. What are you trying to solve? And I'm Ignacio by the way."

Of course Azzo wasn't going to take his suggestion, if there was someone to talk to he was going to freeze his a** off no matter how much he hated it.
He was on the chapter about earthquakes. Still trying to make heads or tails of it. "Well it's about earthquakes and fault lines and stuff." He said way to be vague Azzo! He probably assumed Nacio had the same teacher and was on the same chapter.
He paused when the boy introduced himself, "Azzo." He said pausing, "Hey.... You must be who Melody mentioned while I was in the hospital." He'd seen the girl twice while there. The second time ended up a little bit... weird what with that fight and stuff. He paused, "Well that is unless your not Nacio, but it sounds probable."

"Well, it's about earthquakes and fault lines and stuff."
Terribly descriptive, Azzo. It was lucky that Ignacio was on the same lesson or he would have blinked at Azzo and then asked to see the book. Still, he figured it was that stupid assignment with the ordering of the earthquakes in order of magnitude. Ignacio figured that assignment would be easy enough; it was one of the many reasons why Ignacio was willing to delay the assignment until Sunday.
That and Ignacio couldn't give a s**t about the class, but that had already been elaborated. No, what Ignacio gave a s**t about was the fact that Azzo seemed to know Melody. "Mellie mentioned me?" He beamed. "Yup, that would be me, Nacio. You two met at the hospital? Mellie had to stay there a bit longer than me; I was released once I was no longer dehydrated and starving. Apparently I hadn't eaten for a while, whatever happened at that Organ Ring-whatever."
With a shrug and an eyeroll of disbelief, he continued. "Earlier, I introduced two people to each other who alreaady knew each other. I guess it is a small world."

Azzo watched him with curiousity, "Yeah, she wondered in lost to my room while that.... er.... a nurse was...... tending to me." He didn't want to sound like a wuss calling the nurse scary....
"She called her mama." He nodded, "And she said something about like your good moods are contagious or something." He grinned. "Oh... you're part of that too?" No wonder he looks familiar I guess. Then again Mel did to.
"Eh, they said I'd had broken ribs but they'd started to heal.... One of the other girls, pink hair, in pigtail, they were long too... I never did get her name. Said that was weird for and Organ Ring to break ribs, asked what they could've wanted."
He shrugged looking a bit perplexed again. "I think she said she was coming here."

"Oh!" Ignacio laughed, after Azzo mentioned Melody called the nurse 'Mama.' "That's my mother. She works at the hospital. McLaughlin-Araya, right? Mellie and I have known each other for most of our lives, so she's like a mother to Mellie too." Mama. While Ignacio had left the house because of his Papa, his Mama had never really done anything to offend Ignacio. She had done nothing but take care of him and perhaps worry a little too much about his well-being.
...But Ignacio wasn't going to take all of that insulting from Papa anymore. Even if that required abandoning the parts of his family that didn't spend all of their time yelling at him. His cell phone was starting to run dead, and soon he wouldn't be able to contact them at all. Maybe he should call his Mama while he had the chance, but not at the moment. He didn't want people to start fussing over him, dammit; he could manage because he was absolutely fine.
Pink hair in pigtails... no, Ignacio didn't remember her, though it was nice to know of another one of the girls that was coming to Meadowview. Most of them, from what he had heard, were going over to Crystal, including Melody, who was rooming with another girl from the 'Organ Ring' incident. "Never met her, though it's good to know of someone else who's going here," a typical Ignacio grin was flashed at Azzo before he suddenly asked, "So, why do you find this assignment so hard? All you have to do is put these in order."

Azzo nodded, "I believe so. I didn't really catch her name..." He coughed, he didn't want to mention that he'd been too busy hiding from her to bother to find out a name.
He watched and looked around, "Is Melody going here too?" He seemed a bit curious about the girl. It almost had that tone of, I hope she's going here, she's rather cute. Some where in the back of his mind he was hoping that Nacio wasn't so brotherly like to Mel that he'd get mad at him.
"Yeah, I don't remember if there's others going here that I met while in the hospital. Though Giselle was one of us.... I met her, I suppose she's going to the girl's school."
He shrugged, "She's an interesting lady that one. Though someone you might want to watch out for." He added with a thoughtful nod, after all she had claimed to be Azzo's cousin.

And so the question on the homework assignment was ignored. Honestly, that was okay. Ignacio couldn't really care less about the damn Earth Science assignment; he only cared enough to know that he had to get it done at some point. Instead, he observed Azzo carefully, with a tilted head. He saw no reason to trust Azzo, but at the same time, Melody had already met with and talked with him, and there was also no reason to not trust him. So, Ignacio responded, "No, unfortunately. She's actually going to Crystal, like Giselle," that name sounded familiar too, but that was explained easily by what Azzo said. "I usually text her during the day. Turns out her school is staunch and boring as all hell, just like ours. It's just full of attractive women."
And Ignacio was always a fan of the human form. He had vague temptations to sneak onto the Crystal campus to hang out with Melody and get a view of the rich girls who went there but then he muffled it. He wasn't Lucas; he certainly wasn't a pervert. Besides, there was plenty of attractive eyecandy that was into him at Meadowview, too.
"I know a few other people going here from the incident. Gray," a significant pause of distraction before continuing, "Calintha, Elle, Yvette... a lot of us came here. I'm sure there's plenty of us around here that you can find if you look around enough."

Azzo was leaning on his book again, he should really do the homework so he didn't have to lug the bag home. "Sounds like a bunch of fun." He muttered softly, "It's a shame. She seemed like such fun to hang out with."
He was looking a bit gloomy like the news had put a pin in some bubble of his. However he chuckled at the mention of attractive women. "I would expect that'd be what a girl's school is full of. Hopefully not nuns. That would be a shame and a crime." He wasn't Lucas either.
Azzo listened to him name off names. Frowning slightly at the reminder he didn't remember s**t. "It'd help if I remembered these people...." He sighed, "Unfortunately, it seems like 99.9% of my memories were suppressed from that place."

Nuns at an all-girls school? That would be tragic. Be a waste if an all-boys school was full of monks too. What a waste of a good situation! Ignacio seemed to be charming himself with the idea of all-girls schools being made of attractive women and all-boys schools being made of attractive men, and didn't reply to Azzo for an unusually long time.
Ignacio eventually came back to reality. "Really? I've been hearing from a lot of people that they're having trouble remembering." Himself included. He had nightmares of carnage and making lunches out of said carnage but he couldn't figure out what they actually linked to. Ignacio could make as many theories as he pleased but none of them seemed to quite make sense in his mind. Something always told him he was wrong.
"I can only guess what happened through nightmares. I don't believe that bullshit they're feeding to us, though." Of course, Ignacio always had a tendency of ignoring whatever the news said anyway.

Azzo watched him apparently space out. Brow lofting as the other boy fell quite. When he spoke Azzo shrugged, "Kinda sucks... I prolly wouldn't want to remember any of the bad stuff, organs getting stolen or possibly how my ribs got broken...."
He seemed to think, "I'm.... not really sure. I'd just like enough of my memory back to not feel rude towards people that look vaguely familiar. I feel like I owe it to them to remember them." He sat there looking at his note book, "Speically Melody for some reason.... though...." He paused he was unsure if he should mention the fact got the feeling something bad was going to happen around her or not...
