When one kept a child that was named after a food, it was only right to introduce said child to that food at an early age. Or at least, that's what Lamnishan thought as she carried Cookie into the shop. It was a special pastry shop that specialized in huge cookies for birthdays and parties. And so, the infant's first experience with cookies must be somewhere like this.
The small girl was curled in her mother's arms, Lam keeping a tight hold on her to keep the tot from flying off like crazy. After all, they'd never be allowed back if she did that. The little girl looked around curiously at all of the other kids and sniffed at the strange treats. She was very curious about this strange treat her Mama called after her.

Due to Bailey's recent growth, Lo felt it necessary to celebrate by getting a cake. However, the little fae hated cake itself so she thought a cookie cake would be just fine. She walked into the shop with her large clutch in her arms, orthopedic's squeeking on the floor.
Bailey followed behind. It flew, found hung to the floor. So many colors! And smells. The happy atmosphere was infectious. Within seconds the toddler's eyes were beaming. "I wanna big one!"
"Of course you do, " she chuckled. "You can have whatever one you want. Just not that one. I hate green icing."

Cookie had been staring around at the other children in the place before spotting something she liked. Making a very loud meowing sound, the little girl pulled herself up over her Mama's shoulders to look at Bailey, his wings having attracted her attention. Making grabby hands at it, the little one continued her odd kitty sounds.
Lam glanced up a bit, startled before turning around to see what Cookie wanted. The tot turned herself around once more, still reaching and mewing. "Cookie, behave." Lam whispered before smiling at Lo and Bailey.
"Sorry about that. Cookie's curious." she apologized. " think she thought your little one's wings were pretty."

Bailey flipped to a sharp halt and swerved behind Lo. It nervously peeped out, using her shoulder's as a base board.
Lo laughed and switched her purse to her right arm, reaching around to grasp Bailey. "C'mon, dear. It's alright. She's not going to hurt you." She warmly smiled to the mother and babe. "What a nice compliment. Why don't you let her touch them, Bailey?"
Bailey shook it's head vehemently. No way! It clung to Lo's sweater like a life jacket, half fluttering and half leaning on her. "It's a little shy," She said in a way of appology.

"That's all right." Lam said pleasantly, bouncing Cookie a little, who purred in response. "Cookie's just a tad forward is all. Anyway, she probably shouldn't touch them anyway, they look rather delicate and I'm afraid Cookie's too small to know any better and might hurt them by mistake."
The infant pouted a bit as it seemed she was being denied, but recovered moments later to lean down and peer at Bailey, waving some.

"Their alot stronger than you would think." Lo stroked Bailey's head and kissed it's forehead. "Won't you at least show her a smile?" The elderly woman coaxed.
Bailey's ears drooped, but it took a deep breath and turned around. It nervously waved back. "H-hair's pwetty." It's sweet voice was a low murmur. As soon as it spoke, Bailey's eyes drooped down to the floor.
"We're here to buy a cake. Bailey grew not to long ago and I think it deserves a little party. Want to join us?"

Cookie purred lightly, smiling at the other child. "I think she says thank you." Lam said quietly to Bailey with a small smile before grinning up at Lo again.
"Sure. I brought Cookie here to let her try her namesake."

"So it's the first time for both of them!" Lo beamed and walked up to the display counter.
Bailey lifted off out of Lo's arms and hovered near Lam, looking down at Cookie. It wrung it's hands, peeping up to look at the cookies. "Wha-what kind should we get?" It asked.
Lo mentally sighed. No doubt it was waiting on the infants choice, since it was too backwards to make the decision itself.

Cookie peered at the big cookie cakes, the colors and sizes interesting her. She mewed a few times, eventually pointing to one that looked good. It was simple enough but the big chocolate chips had caught her interest so she'd had to pick it. How was she to know what it tasted like? Those just looked like the chocolate kisses Mama liked.
Lam smiled, "Well, she's picked. Do you guys like that choice?"

Bailey wasn't looking at the cookies so much as the icing. It was absorbed in the different colors and after licking it's lips, it looked at Lam and nodded. "Dat's a good one, but I want pink icing." It said plainly.
It turned it's attention to Cookie with a soft smile. "What'chu think?"
Lo chuckled. "It doesn't matter to me so long as the children are happy and it doesn't break the bank."

Cookie mewed happily, clapping her hands a bit. "Seems the little one doesn't mind pink." Lam said, "Not that I think she completely knows, but she's shown a liking for colors before."
She grinned at Lo then, "Don't worry about the price, I'll cover it."

Bailey looked up at Lam, then back to Cookie when an idea hit it. "Wanna see a twick?"
The elderly woman sighed in relief. "Bless your heart, child. If only more young people today were like you." When the shop clerk reached for purple she gave him a stern look and motioned to the pink, hoping Bailey didn't see.
She didn't have to worry. It had already seen.
It had pulled the kazoo out of it's pants and started to play, causing the cookies to bounce in the air. The gingerbread men did the minuet while little bows and sticks played scenary. She felt a tug, no doubt due to Bailey's magic and didn't want it to grow worse so she gently pushed down on the kazoo. "Not here, baby."
Bailey pouted.

Cookie squealed and giggled happily, clapping her hands in joy at the sight. "Boingboing!" she exclaimed, her little ears twitching and tail curling in delight at the whole thing.
Lam laughed and clapped a bit herself, before paying the clerk for the cake. What that'd been about with the choice of icing she didn't know, but it wasn't her business either. "Shall we sit down?" she offered, holding the cookie cake with one hand and her daughter with the other.

Bailey's ears perked back up with pride. "They didn't boing, they danced." It snatched up two cookie men and dug around in it's pockets for change to pay for them before flitting off after the ladies.
"How about over there?" Lo pointed to a table near the window. When she heard more music being played, she looked back and saw Bailey dancing it's cookies to the table in question. "Show off." She chuckled.

Lam snorted, "That's the only word she ever uses." the woman explained, following the dancing treats to the table, though she had to balance carefully as Cookie was squirming and clapping, watching the dancing pieces.
When they were all settled down, Lam felt safe enough to put Cookie down in the booth and nudge her into the corner. The tot promptly reached out to poke one of the cookie men.
