Alone. After a season with Palahala, he was sure he would never feel loneliness again. In fact, if someone were to tell him he would actually leave the company of the herd to be on his own, he would say they were being silly. It was true though, but he learned something. Home is where your friends were. Ever since he was a cub, he grew to find that he might not have a family or if he did have one, they had no recollection of him. Yet, he created friends, and he created family. He made a family with Palahala, Zebadie, her kids and the other prey beasts, but once Pala left, it wasn’t a home. Pala ruined it. He left his family, and what Khuluma wanted, he didn’t get.

It wasn’t fair. Pala invited him into his pride, gave him shelter, taught him many things about being a god, and that mattered to NOTHING in the end. The God grew up and went off to find someone else. It didn’t matter who, and Khuluma was left with the prey beasts. While he learned to accept mortals as something not below him but creatures he worked to help, he was still left with many questions. With the Prey God gone, he could care less about helping anyone. Why help when no one wanted him?!

Wasn’t he pretty enough? He had a long mane and was golden as prairie grass in the morning sun. He was getting better at jumping and tried his best to learn everything that was taught to him. Why wasn’t that enough?!

The juvenile sniffled, rubbing his eyes with his paw as he sat in the grass.

“I hate him.” He hated him. He hated Pala for leaving. He hated Pala for lying to him. He hated Pala for saying he was part of his herd and then leaving the herd. He hated Pala for not coming back to see him and hated him for leading Khuluma to feel this miserable. Now he was alone, and he blamed that on Pala too. Pala made him run away. If he were there, he wouldn’t have reason to go. Most of all, he hated the person Pala was with. Zebadie told him he went to herd a girl, and Khuluma hated whoever he found. He hated this mysterious Her.

Rubbing his eyes, his pain mingled with anger. He hated them all.

The Goddess of Secrets did not often visit the mortal lands. She was uncomfortable there. Too often, her presence affected the mortals around her, making them unable to keep any secrets that they had. This often lead to problems and fights, and while many mortals wouldn't dare to attack a goddess, it still left them bitter and resentful. That is why Kilunzi preferred to visit only on an as-needed basis. Still, every once in awhile, it was nice to fly down and to take a stroll in the grass. She would only do so, if she was sure that no one else was around. This time however, she hadn't been quite as careful and she found that she was not the only one in the area, as she had originally thought. Rather than stumbling into a mortal, however, she found another god.

Kilunzi blinked at the figure before her, unsure of what to do. It wasn't often that she stumbled upon young gods who were obviously upset. She and Irc had been very deep in thought and neither of them had noticed the young god until she'd almost walked right into him. She'd stopped just in time and had stepped back a few steps. It seemed that the other deity was also absorbed in thought and hadn't noticed their presence.

Now Kilunzi had a choice to make. She could either continue on her way and pretend to have not seen the other god. Or, she could approach him and offer to listen. It was obvious to her that the young male needed a kind shoulder and a sympathetic ear. Kilu often fit that role with other deities. She considered it to be her main purpose, other than guarding secrets. Which is why she went with the latter choice and carefully approached.

"Hello," she said quietly and settled a short distance away, as to not invade the younger god's space.

Her expression was kind, and as always, a bit mysterious. Her white fur obscured her face somewhat and her silver markings glittered faintly in the light. She hoped that she didn't appear intimidating, as she truly wanted to try to help. Rather than saying anything else, however, she decided to wait and see what his reaction would be.

The expression "I don't want to talk about it" was lost on Khuluma, who often talked about everything and anything. It came to a point that he found it hard not to clam up, but he also knew the value that a good dose of silence perfectly placed could do. This time around, he wasn't waiting for silence as he had no one to talk to. The many immortals and few mortals he knew were not on terms where he could 1.) Find them easily to even start talking to them and 2.) Were only on friendly terms and not the deep sort of personal connection one needed for when you wanted to spill your tiny heart out. The only Goddess he could find was Rokopelli, but burdening an expecting mother Goddess wasn't his style. She had her own troubles to deal with.

Currently stewing in his own thoughts, his ears flicked several times at the noise of someone approaching, that buzzing feeling in his spine that tried to tell him something supernatural was near, before her voice caught his attention. He turned to look over his shoulder, spotted the Goddess, and quickly turned to frantically wipe his eyes. First impressions said a lot and blubbering to a stranger might not win him any good friends.

" –ello." He croaked, trying his best to steady his voice. He breathed deep, using his claws to straighten his hair and patting his face to make it look less damp. After a few seconds a prepping, he turned around, eyes shamefully downcast. " Sorry about that. I didn't expect anyone would be around."
