In Hillworth, the lack of females led one to calling a variety of students gay and saying that the school was a meat house. It tended to drive many boys insane, causing them to cling to any form of beauty that crossed their paths, and harass females in attempts to up skirt them or catch a fabled glimpse of cleavage. It was why the school tended not to hire young, pretty women onto it's staff.
Ursula Johnson was the exception.
Boys never complained about being sent to the office since she had been hired. In fact, some acted out JUST to see her. Granted they had no chance with her given their age and student status, but, she was young, pretty, and she taunted them with low cut tops and teasing words. She was the fantasy of many Hillworth boys.
Elzo was not an exception.
He'd always arrive in the same fashion, light, upbeat, and generally uncaring as to his punishment. He mainly just sat in front of the secretary's desk, ogling her and trying to flirt. Today was no different.
"Miss Johnson~" his tone was sing song. Sadly, he couldn't sing. "Tell me it's not true!" He made a dramatic flop on the side of her desk, (careful not to knock over her pens), "You're not really marrying him are you?" A puppy dog look. "You're leaving me? Who will fill my school days with beauty once you are gone?" He moved to the chairs and slouched in. "...You also got my letter right?" The last part was serious. At least as serious as Elzo could manage.
Elzo liked Miss Johnson. She didn't get mad at his flirting and jokes. At least not usually. He also didn't like the idea of some old hag as the office receptionist.

An eyebrow quirked up as the voice floated into the office, carried by the ever mischievous Elzo Xanis. Ursula Johnson's face lit up with a grin as the boy drifted in; finally there was something to keep the afternoon boredom away!
It wasn't unusual for this particular Xanis brother to find himself gracing her presence (in fact, it was pretty much a weekly thing), though the Hillworth secretary far from minded the weekly intrusion. The number of detentions given had indeed risen once Miss Johnson had been hired, and the vain Negaverse agent enjoyed every moment of attention that she could receive. And there was a lot of attention to be given.
"Which one, Elzo darling?"
She laughed, one hand moving out to ruffle his hair. For a constant troublemaker, the blonde boy had an unusually sweet nature about him. And tended to compliment her more than any other student who visited the office.
Ursula liked compliments. Therefore, Ursula liked Elzo Xanis.
"And stop that, he's not so bad." Her hand moved over to glance at her engagement ring (she adored showing it off, naturally), "You act like it's some sort of prison sentence, dear. I'm not going anywhere. I'll still be here doing the same old thing."

"Your not the one who gets yelled at in the cold, with threats of Collins on your a** if you don't run fast enough." Grumbling, Elzo flipped the chair so he could slouch on the back while facing the secretary. His grumbling ceased once he was comfortable. And by comfortable, it meant in front of Ursula and in perfect view of her low cut tops. "And by which letter, I mean the one where I ask you to run away with me~" A dopey grin. "Will you Miss Johnson? Run away with me? I won't make you be my secretary! Just my girl." The smile and laugh at the end ruined any notation that he was serious.
The ring made him sigh. "He's really lucky. You're a fine catch. That and well...the idea of Killingworth with any sort of romantic interest at all is just..." He made a face. "Well, it's Killingworth. Once your his, how will I be able to even talk to you with out worrying he'll come out and rip me apart?" He pouted. "Killingworth is a tyrant. He'll make you dress like some nun and I'll never get to see your beautiful...face ever again!" His eyes have moved slightly south. "...No more beautiful Miss Johnson to fill my days..."

If only you knew the half of it, buddy she thought to herself, her smile never wavering. The Hillworth boys thought they had it bad, but it was nothing in comparision to what she and the other Lieutenants had been subjected to under the General-King's rule. Well, the same still applied for the Lieutenants, at least. She'd since become a... special exception to the rule. Still, one hair dragging was one too many, in Ursula's opinion.
"I know you'd only break my heart, Elzo," she played along with him, teasing, "I'm sure you have dozens of girls on the side, and you feed them the same lines you're feeding me right now."
One hand moved up to push her glasses up the bridge of her nose, and then she moved to pretend to pay attention to the paperwork in front of her. She couldn't hide the smile, tickled by his words as she made a point not to look directly at him, "He hasn't seemed to mind my attire now, why would he after we're married? You're just being a worrywart, you silly thing. Do you really think I'd leave you with someone like Naomi and Theresa again? I couldn't do that to my boys!"

"You wound me Miss Johnson!" His face got softer. "There is only one girl I really want. She's...God she's amazing." It was kind of cute. Elzo was just so happy to talk about his love interest, it showed. "We can't be together, but I'm not going to let our work stop me. I'll find a way we can be together." It was painfully obvious, Elzo was lovestruck. But his wistful expression vanished as he blushed, realizing just how he was acting.
"Uh, that is... I don't just feed you lines. I mean them! Honest I do! You're different. Mush prettier and more sophisticated. A high class lady." Grinning he picked up a tiny sticky note from her desk, beginning to fold it into a paper airplane.
"Killingworth is a guy. Like all guys, once he's got it, he won't want anyone else to even look at it." Paper airplane was finished, one wing was larger the the other. "And Naomi and Theresa are nice girls...just not that fun. They ignored me." Paper airplane was launched. It sailed up before making a u-turn and diving into the pile of paperclips. "You're too good for that angry man-bear-pig."

She chuckled, the sound soft and terribly girly. Reaching out to take one of her own sticky notes, she gingerly began to tuck and fold the edges, making creases every now and again. After having been a secretary for well over a year, she'd learn the fine art of Boredom Avoidance, which also included sticky note origami.
The idea of Khalid showing any sort of possessiveness tickled her. In fact, she wished he would be possessive, but the chances he'd be any different than before was... well, pretty far-fetched. Her darling had a one track mind and that mind was always focused on one thing: the Negaverse. He was literally marrying the Negaverse. That did not mean he cared how short the Negaverse's skirts were or the way they wore their hair or talked to students. Hoped? She hoped. Expected? Not for a minute.
"Be nice, Elzo," she chided, putting the finishing touches on her paper swan, "He won't notice a thing. And if he does, do you really think I'm going to let him boss me around?"
One eyebrow rose and she gave him a devious grin. Everyone at Hillworth knew Ursula Johnson got her way. No one argued with the school's secretary. "Besides, I think Mrs. Killingworth is a pretty badass name."
She left the conversation taper off from there, now concentrating on his earlier words. "It sounds to me like Elzo Xanis has finally found himself in love. And can't be together? Elzo, darling, I told you from the start that it wouldn't work out between the two of us."
Teasing aside, her head tilted curiously. "Tell me, what's going on?"

Elzo glared at the swan. It was much better then his paper airplane. It mocked him with it's superiority. And the fact it was highlighter pink. He just didn't like highlighter pink. He much prefered the highlighter green. "You are missing a key fact. He is KILLINGWORTH. Bane of every living thing at Hillworth. He drinks liquid hate in the morning and eats kittens for lunch. He thrives off of our tears and torment (and for the record I never cry). He is Killingworth, the man every student lives in fear of." Gazing over to the ring on her hand, Elzo sighed. "But you're right. Mrs. Killingworth is a badass name. After all, it's got the word killing in it. That alone is pretty badass."
Wait did she- Figures. Women and their love of romance, (this coming from a self professed 'romantic'). Well, not one to pass up his usual antics, Elzo removed himself from his seat and went to Ms. Johnson's side. "Ms. Johnson, oh, how did you know of my pain and longing? Come, let us escape Hillworth! We shall travel the world, far from these humble trappings. Oh Ms. Johnson, my heart's desire!" Elzo had barely held back his laugh at the end.
On bent knee still, he explained. "But seriously? Basic jist is we work for two companies that have a hard on for hate with each other. We get caught our asses fry. So, we're having to pull some Shakespeare style secret meetings. My only hope is that we don't end up like most Shakespearian lovers, dead."

"What, you don't think I'm capable of making a changed man out of Mr. Killingworth?"
The grin was there, though both student and secretary were well aware that nothing on God's green earth could force Gunn Killingworth's personality to make a 180 turn from where it currently was. Not that Ursula really wanted anything to change. Well. A few things. Minor adjustments, really. Mostly in the attention department. Hmph.
Turning, she stared down at the kneeling boy, her hands in her lap as she thought over what he said. And grew more and more confused as he continued on.
"Wait... you have a job? How in the world do you have a job, Elzo? Between detention and curfew, I dont see how... well, nevermind that."
Hands moved to reorganize the paperclip pile the wayward airplane had crashed into, her head shaking. "Well, I don't see why you're so worked up over it. It's simple! Either you change to work with her, or she works with you. Or you both quit and run off into the sunset."
Eyes moved back to meet his, and a shoulder shrugged. "I mean, if it's love, isn't that more important than some silly old job?"

"The day Killingworth changes is the day I land a steady girlfriend. In other words, I will believe it when I see it. Which will be never."
"Ever."
Moving to lean on the back way, (the floor wasn't very comfortable), Elzo thought of a way to explain with out not explaining. "It's one of those part time gigs where they call you in when they need you. And I am not worked up over it!" He was worked up over it. Over her. Ms. Johnson's eyes having that usual knowing look made him frown. Why were females always so good at picking out emotions?
"And...I can't just quit. If I quit I'll get my a** chewed out, not to mention loose a few friends that I've made from the job. Do you know how hard it is to make friends with girls when you're from Hillworth? All they see is the bad boy, nothing else. When I'm working, they don't see me as a Hillworth hooligan they just see-" Castor? "they just see me, you know?"
"But you are right. Love is more important. It's the figuring out how to make it work part that's a b***h." A bell rang in the room. Class was out, the next one was going to start soon.

Hearing the bell as well, Ursula's hand dropped back into her desk drawer and pulled out a small pad. A small pad that meant Saving Grace for any Hillworth Hooligan that saw it come out of that drawer. It meant salvation. It meant freedom.
"I'm sure you'll figure out a way, Elzo," she chuckled, taking her pen to the pad as she began to scribble something across the blank lines, "You're a smart boy. You'll get her in the end, if she's the one you want."
Finished with the note, she ripped off the first page and offered the small slip to him. It was a Hall Pass. Freedom from Killingworth Detention, and the best Get Out Of Jail Free card that any boy at Hillworth Grammar had ever seen.
"Your monthly freebie." Her head nodded towards the slip. "Don't abuse it. And don't get caught on these late night frolicks with Lover Girl, ok? As much as I love seeing you, darling, it's not a good thing to be here so often."
She paused, then winked. "Besides, I might get jealous to hear you're in trouble for loving someone else."

'YESSSSSSSSSSS'
She pulled it out. Thanks the gods up high she pulled it out! He could have kissed her, (if it wasn't socially taboo and not against school policy, he might have). As tiny letters filled the blank lines and the loud thumps and clicks of students in the halls outside grew to a crescendo, the slip was offered. Just as quickly had it been written, it was in between two fingers, careful not to crumple the paper. "Trust me Ms. Johnson, I aim to make her mine. I'm stubborn like that. But, you know, not stubborn in a stalker way. But, uh anyway."
Folding the paper in half and pocketing it, a smile was on Elzo's face. A bright one. A Xanis smile. "I promise to do my best; To not get caught while I pull a secret lover rendezvous. As for any other circumstances...I can't really say. I still owe a few guys for a prank they pulled a while back." The prank had involved tomato paste. Enough said.
Going to the door, Elzo gave Ms. Johnson another flourished bow. "Farewell o' fair and kind Ms. Johnson, for when we meet again, you shall belong to another! My heart shall ache for the loss of such a fine rose among the weeds of this foul Hillworth empire!" Elzo would be a really bad actor.
"Later!" Fleeing the office, Elzo was not going to look a gift horse in the mouth. Especially when the gift horse was a pretty lady who could ruin his life if she wanted. Best to stay on her good side.
