A Little Solace

Ember Lee Anderson
Em, Lee

•-» Age¦¦ 23
•-» I Am A¦¦ Female
•-» Sexuality¦¦ Straight
•-» Height¦¦ 5'8"
•-» Weight¦¦ 127 lb.
•-» Capabilities¦¦ First Aid, SWAT Combat Training

•-» Bio¦¦ Ember hardly remembers what her life was like before the new infection swept through the entire country. Some nights she'll pray, hoping that this is all just a nightmare, but when morning comes she's forced to face reality - nothing will ever be the same. She was about thirteen years old when the first record of an infection was leaked to the public, at the time everyone thought it was a joke. With the Aegis vaccination, we thought we were untouchable, nearly immortal, even the idea of someone being sick was the furthest thing from our minds. For a while it was thought to be some sort of prank, or possibly even a sort of media fake to strike fear into the hearts of Americans and people around the world. A proverbial "boogie-man" for children and parents, "This will happen to you if you don't get vaccinated."

Tragically, at the young age of fifteen, Ember's parents were taken away to the "Facility", she was told that was the place sick people went to get better. Fed lie after lie it wasn't until the entire country and world began to crumble did she learn the truth - there was no Facility and if there was one, it was closer to a Concentration Camp than a Hospital. When the number of in-patients grew too large, the patients who's family members stopped visiting were executed to free up a bed.

Conspiracy theories began almost immediately, it was said initially to be some form of biological warfare, but when each country looked outward there was no one to point a finger at that wasn't looking to place blame as well. After years of executions and quarantined counties, then cities, and in the worst cases entire states - was a connection made between the Zombie Virus and the Aegis Vaccine. It was something we realized too late, it's been years since the vaccine was released, swimming in the blood-streams of billions like ticking time bombs, the lucky few who somehow became immune to the dormant genes of the vaccine are still susceptible to the bite of the infected.

During the worst of it, there were no job opportunities, people were concerned with the media and the latest gossip of the Zombie Virus, throwing the country into mass hysteria. Schools were closed, looting and crime skyrocketed, that's when Ember decided to go into law enforcement, having her parents taken away at such a young age, she felt there didn't need to be any unnecessary loss of life. She didn't have a say in the death of her parents, her only family, but she could protect those who couldn't protect themselves.

Little did she know, the skills she'd learned in the Police Academy would save her life numerous times, no longer was she catching criminals - she was now running for her life. Ember watched as the odds were stacked against the healthy, she was now a statistic.

The Count of Monte Carlo

Maximilian Evans
Max.

•-» Age¦¦ 20
•-» I Am A¦¦ Male
•-» Sexuality¦¦ Straight
•-» Height¦¦ 6'0"
•-» Weight¦¦ 180
•-» Capabilities¦¦ Some mechanic skills, good at shooting quickly and accurately, minimal first aid skills.

•-» Bio¦¦ If there's one thing Max knew from growing up on books from the likes of Lois Lowry and Ray Bradbury, it's that there's no such thing as a Utopian future. So when the vaccine seemed to wipe out all traces of disease, he knew it had to be too good to be true. At first he treated it as a novel idea, and looked into books about biological disasters, which lead him to zombies. Something about the idea intrigued him, and he soon took up shooting classes and started reading up on knowledge he thought would be helpful. He assured himself this was purely hypothetical; there was no way the zombie stories could come true.

Max had been working at his uncle's repair shop for a few months when the outbreak started. He first noticed something was wrong when his uncle, who was never late, didn't come into the shop for an entire week. When Max tried to call him there was no answer. The same was the case when he tried to reach his parents. No one answered any of his calls, and finally, the lines went dead altogether. In the back of his mind, Max knew what was happening, but he refused to accept it until his neighbors were trying to beat his door down.

Heavenly-Nightmare3

Jessica Sorrowlynn
Jessi

•-» Age¦¦ 19
•-» I Am A¦¦ Female
•-» Sexuality¦¦ Straight
•-» Height¦¦ 5'7"
•-» Weight¦¦ 175
•-» Capabilities¦¦ First Aid, LockSmith

•-» Bio¦¦"You know...I never thought that we would die from something that would, in the end, help us all. But lord behold, look what happened." Jessica never thought that something that was so common and simple as a shot, would harm the entire world. Her parents always told her that if she didn't go see the doctor regularly or keep up with her shot records, she would get sick. Now she thinks otherwise.

Before the virus...Or whatever you want to call it, Jessi was a majoring in college to be a Doctor. However, her bad girl habbits were making it difficult. Her brother taught her most of what she knows as far as lock picking and learning different types of locks. Her first aid came from her studying. She never really knew her parents, seeming as they were both druggies themselves. They were never home and Jessi's brother took care of her.

Right before people were being taken to be vaccinated, Jessi's brother told her to hide and never go to get the vaccine. So she knew that he knew something about the so called "miracle drug." That day, Jessi's brother left and never came back. Jessi was left on her own and to her own devices. She has become hard and cold, having no mercy on thoes who are infected by the vaccine, or the doctors who created it.
