Azzo was logging himself out of the hospital. He’d been here long enough. Fights between Senshi and that Youma, monster thing and staring at white walls. He just wanted to go home. <********. This. s**t.
He was signing papers glancing over them and penning away his life. “How many trees did you guys kill again? All this just to make sure that we understand that you’re not responsible if I kill myself because my ribs are still slightly broken?”
He was fully dressed, a pair of baggy pants, not too baggy mind you, they looked like T.R.I.P.P.S. from that Hot Topic place but devoid of almost all metal save for a few rings where cloth straps use to be. He hung his keys there. However, he couldn’t get home until he finished signing all those damned papers. His shirt reflected the lack of wanting to be there. Of course, he was the type to read, well skim, what the papers said to make sure he wasn’t making a fool of himself.
He sighed heavily when the nurse gave him another set of papers. This set promised he be back to get a once over every week to make sure his ribs were still healing.
“It’ll help if you can keep your torso wrapped…”
“Yup I know.” He muttered as he was still signing papers. Hoping the next one would be the last one and that he could run like a mad man to get away from here.
“Is someone going to pick you up?” The nurse asked curiously looking at him.
“I’m going to walk.” He said as he finished the last paper, “I’m tired of being stuck in a room. I’d very much like some fresh air for a bit.” His coat was sitting there on the back of the chair along with a brand new top hat, that scarf, and the gloves his grams had knitted.
His shirt was a t-shirt. Not something he always wore unless he was working around the house, but he felt like being as casual as possible. One that actually had a saying written on it that went close to, People like you are the reason people like me need medication. He’d snagged it when Charlie Bartlette had just come out.
“So you’re Grandma isn’t coming to pick you up?”
He shot the nosey nurse a glare, “No Ma’am. She’s not.”
With that he put on his coat, with a little trouble trying not to hurt his ribs, “Would you like som—“
“No Ma’am.” He cut off the nurse as she asked if he wanted help. If he wanted help he’d ask for it. He threw the scarf around his neck and placed his top hat on his head as he adjusted the gloves, they fit. Amazing.
The Nurse walked with him to the door, “Oh… your Grandma left this to… said it was your Grandfathers.” She handed him a cane, he was looking at it. A half smile crossed his face, “She thought you might need it if you decided to check out early.”
Azzo nodded then shrugged, “See you next week then.”
He left out of there actually using the cane to steady himself as his ribs were still making him want to move slow. The cold air hit his face and he closed his eyes taking in the snow that was still falling and the sounds of the road not far from here.
“Now… this is better” He turned up his collar and began to walk home. If he’d had money with him he’d stop by the coffee shop. But his wallet was back in the hell hole, which included the little bit of money he had, had in it.
He was humming a happy tune as he walked, glad to be out that white walled prison. “Things are going to be different.” He said to himself with a nod, “I know it.”
