 Abloec had been wandering around a little in the ever deepeniing snow, looking a little odd where his friends had bundled him up in blankets. More used to the heat of the desert land this was the first winter he had ever seen snow. Winter meant rain to him not white stuff, it was a good time of year where food and water were plentiful. But dwelling on what used to be was not improving his mood, and as by nature he was cheerful finding himself in the winter doledrums was bothering him.
Steping high so that his hooves were not dragging in the snow, his usual bright green dimmed by brown and black blankets. All that was showing of himself was his face, chest, legs and tail. Though in the sunny snowy days his red shades had prooved valuble again. Heading away from the tree line onto what had been open grass, wondering what a soquili was ment to do with himself in this kind of weather. Yes that was also getting to him, the winter had driven his friends from the summer fields.
Looking up at the pale blue sky as he walks along, wondering when the first signs of spring would appear. The clear blue sky seemd to make it feel colder, though he couldn't work out why. Shrugging his musings off, feeling warmer as he was moving around. He had finally gotten tired of laying huddled up, cold despite the blankets. Chuckleing to himself, wishing he had a way to fasten the blankets to him, if he did he would go for a run. As it was though he was happy to walk in this snow, as long as it meant that he was feeling more himself.

Feeling her feet beginning to get tired, she huffed and walked more out into the clearing from the meadow. She had a daily routine now of going through the forest, meadow, and then finally the open plains. She had yet had the time to take on the mountains, but would have to because she would probably feel more comfortable there. Here it was too vast for her.
Flicking her tail, she lifted her head up to look around a bit only seeing a green figure in the distance making her smile a tiny bit. Finally someone she could talk to again. Walking slowly over towards the odd looking male, she flicked her tail slightly. “Hello” She called out to the stallion eyeing him more fully noticing the weird looking wings on his back. “Are those wings on your back?” She slightly.

Abloec looks up as he is adressed by a femanin voice, forgetting his grumps as his usual friendly smile comes to his face. Seeing before him a pretty young horned soquili, not having met a unicorn yet, but having herd of them. Her tone seeming friendly and a little sad underneath it all. No miss, its a blanket my mother gave to me as a foal." Tugging it off to show it, before putting it back, smiling at her still. "She felt bad that I didn't have my fathers wings, so she had this made, I used to pretend they were wings. Though where I grew up it was more to keep the sand out your mouth and nose, but it was fun to pretend when I was young."
Smiling amiably, a friendly chap really, he had yet to meet someone he didn't like, peeking over his glasses seeing she wasn't pink and purple, but a pretty shade of blue and white. "I'm Abloec miss, but nearly everyone just calls me Ab, its much simpler to say. Would you honour me with your name please?" Always polite, though he could be a little cheeky when he knew someone well, but he wouldn't be with her, it would be rude for so new aquaintence. Besides it wasn't in his nature to act like that, at heart he was gentle and it showed, though he also had a will and determination to look after those he held close.

Hydro listened to him and watched the blanket removed from his back making her smile slightly. She then realized she was smiling a whole lot more lately, but didn't know why and would have to figure it out if they were going to recieve her thanks. "Oh I see. It's rather interesting." She told him before frowning at the last part kind of wishing he had wings like his father. "I'm sorry to hear that you didn't have your father's wings when you were born. At least you had fun imagining you did. I hope it didn't put you down or anything." She nodded and replied back in a monotone voice, but with a slight perk up to it.
"My name is Hydro. It's nice to meet you Ab. I never met someone that wore something on their eyes let alone a blanket on their back. Also you have horns on your head. But your not a unicorn or a feared Kalona. Are you a different breed?" She asked him and was always up for learning new things. It was the one thing she knew she enjoyed the most out of life. "What are you doing out here in this cold weather?" She asked him curiously since just the look of him fascinated her.

Abloec smiles at her and shrugs. "Not everyone is meant to touch the sky, but I have four good hooves so I can go up a mountain and find the clouds, so its not all bad." Not seeming the slightest bothered by his lack of flying, he got by just fine. He watched her facial expressios as they changed, it seeming like she was trying to keep herself for being cheery, though she didn't seem to be having much luck at eradicating it totally, which inwardly amused him a little, though it was hard to tell as all that did was add warmpth to his eyes and smile.
"Hmm things on my eyes.... yeah they are to help keep the sand out, well that and they help with the sun, though with all the white recently they have helped with that too, sun comes out and you cant see a thing." The shades normal to him. "No not a unicorn, and I have no idea what a Kalona looks like, but I seem to have landed between my parents in looks and they were nothing alike. But my mother sometimes called me her little Flygon so maybe thats what I am." He shrugs still smiling. "In the end I'm me so what does it matter... As for what I'm doing out in the cold... its warmer to be moving around than curled up, even under a blanket its colder, so I kept walking around to keep warm." Though the standing still was making him feel cold again. "Would you care to walk with me Hydro? We can keep warm together that way and talk some more if you would like?"

Hydro watched Abloec closely and listened carefully to everything he said. "That is true. I have yet to travel up the side of the mountain to the clouds. I miss doing that when I traveled here. You can see everything from up that high. It was amazing and I hope to do it again." She said before sighing a little bit since she thought about how much she really wanted to just go up there. "Maybe one day if we become good friends we can walk up there. Since you enjoy it and I enjoy it....it would probably be fun right?" She asked him and never had much fun days. Spending them with someone might help her in the long run or at least that is what she was hoping.
"Oh that sounds interesting. So then did you come from the desert?" She asked and looked at him more examining them a bit. "Well I actually don't like the fact of two of the same species breeding together. My father was a uni and my mother was a wind. I inherited most of my father's genes except for my tail and mane. They were my mother's. That is true. Being yourself and loving yourself for who you are is what matters." She snorted to keep the cold from her nose before yawning a bit. "Sure that would be fun. It will probably keep us warm." She nodded to him before walking a little bit away from him and keeping a slow pace so that he could keep up.

Abloec fell into pace with her, keeping up pretty easily despite the snow, afterall he was used to making his way through the loose desert sands and up dunes. Though this was cold and more uncomfortable at least the snow compacted to solid after his hooves sunk so deep. Smiling over at Hydro as they start to walk, begining to feel warmer already. "Yes I come from the desert... Well A desert, I think its far away, because nothing here seems familiar at all... Well it wasn't when I first got here, now I am rather fond of the place."
Warming up as he walks, the only cold places he notices being his feet and the end of his nose, but that was an improvement on everywhere, a significant one. "Yes, I would be delighted to walk up into the mountains with you." Smiling over at her as they walk. "I think it doesn't matter what species you are, if you like someone the same as you then thats food, if you like someone different then that is good too." Looking up at the sky for a moment. "My mate is a wind soquili, but wings or no wings its her personality I love, not her feathers or lack of."

Hydro walked with him keeping a steady, but slow pace so that neither had to tire themselves out too much from it. Luckily she was getting warmer and the snow wasn’t as bad as it was earlier in the morning. “Everyone seems to be from places so far away. It’s a shame too because then we have to travel so far to get there and then all the way back. It’s rather tiring or at least it was to me. Though it’s always nice to visit where you came from.” She nodded as she went off in her little tangent there. “That is good. At least you like it here now. That is how I felt when I first arrived, but being here for a little bit has made me like the surroundings I have. Even if it’s not the mountains or a snowy tundra, it’s the best home I have had so far.” She smiled a little bit as she walked flicking her tail so that the snow didn’t stick to it.
“Good to hear. Then we should set up a date to when we should go trekking up there.” She nodded and smiled at him before listening to him more with her ears perking up more attentively. “Your right. Maybe I just didn’t think of it like that. I wouldn’t mind falling in love with a unicorn, but any other species wouldn’t be too bad either. My mother was a wind and my father was a unicorn. I didn’t get the wings my sister did, but it didn’t matter. So it probably won’t matter when I fall in love with someone.” She said nodding to him and smiled warmly at the mention of his mate. “As long as your happy that is what matters.” It was all she said on the matter since she didn’t like or care for love too much. She didn’t mind when others had someone, but in the end she didn’t think she would because she didn’t think she was nice. “Maybe I will have a mate one day. I’m not too optimistic about it though.” She told him before shaking her body a little to knock off some of the snow. “We should find somewhere to talk out of the snow.” She looked over to him walking more.

Abloec nods and turns a little so his side would be to the gentle but cold wind, heading for the forest, once they were into the trees it would be a little warmrer, and definately less of a wind, that was something he was happy about. He liked it warmer, this thought brought a content smile to his lips as he ambled along in the snow. "I come from too far away to get back I'm afraid, but I have settled here though I wish I had more of an idea about what happend to bring me here. But I guess fate had its way, or maybe my bad luck showed up." Shrugging, not really minding which it was, he was here now, though he always had blad luck, though usually it came out as him being clumsy. Smiling over at her and nodding some more. "This is a good place... though I'll be MUCH happier when summer arrives.
Smiling, glad that he had given her something to think on. "I have never found it to make any kind of difference to a relationship, hors wings or nothing.. In the end it only effects things as much as you let it... And don't be negative, it will hit you when you least expect it, you can't look for love, you will only be disapointed when you fail to find the real thing, when you are ready, thats when it shows up, and it will probably be with someone you would never have expected." Reaching the tree line he ushers her inside out of the biting wind, following soon after. "I think we should go trekking when its warmer.... This is too cold, even here it will be cold thoug the tress will keep us warmer than being out in the open. Heading into the trees deeper with her, feelign the wind lessen already.

Hydro thought long and hard about if she ever wanted to travel back to the arctic. It didn’t seem like it was a happening thing because she was finally settling here. “That is true. It’s the same for me and I don’t know if I would be back if I left. I miss it too much, but before you know it I will love it here.” She told him and smiled a little bit from his words not understanding still why others enjoyed the hot weather so much. She couldn’t stand it at all. Everyone was entitled to their own opinion though. She thought before looking away into the woods a bit. “Oh I will have to strap myself for the summer. I never really experienced much warm weather until I came here. Is it nice?” She asked him curiously perking her ears up high on her head.
“Very true. I love really any species. I even met a feline version of those skin walkers. She was only a foal, but she wasn’t that bad. She was a bit of a talker, but that was all.” She told him before listening more and giving a long sigh. Love was something she wanted and it was something she knew she would have to wait for. “I know I will have to wait for it. I will just have to build the patience for it.” She said to him nodding contently “Hmmm it would probably be that way. I guess I like to know what I’m getting into before I get into it.” She said shrugging the best she could before following after him into the trees more. “Alright. Sorry I’m just not use to others not liking the same climate as I do. Maybe I am getting my hopes up a bit.” She told him in a monotone voice with her sad eyes looking through the darkening woods.

Pondering her words as they walk, not able to help himself but smile at the thought of summer. He could hadly wait to feel warm again. He had never lazed in the sun till he came here, probably because back home the sun was a given, always hot and always there. But here, even in the summer there was no garentee that it was going to be a hot sunny day. "If your used to or like the cold then you will not like the summer, it gets warm then hot. I'd suggest you stick close to the river or lake so that you can cool off in the water. But yes its nice, everything is green and in bloom and food is plentiful. Fresh grass, fruit, even some vegitables grow wild. I had never seen anything like it before, but its lovely and good." The desert having offered little in the way of food and water, though if you knew where to look you did well enough. Lucky for him that he had been taught where to look. By comparison though this place was a paradice where there was plenty for everyone.
Blinking as she said about meeting a skinwalker, looking over at her and shaking his head in wonder. Even the young ones could be dangerous so she was lucky that it hadn't decided to try and eat her after the conversation. "You know... Most skinwalkers will rather eat you than talk to you, so be careful." Not wanting her experience with skinwalkers so far to put her in harms way. Stopping between some trees, picking here because there were some bare bushes around them as well that would keep the worst of the wind and cold away. Not even the snow had reached the dead leaves underfoot, so it was a dafe bet that this place was well sheltered. Grinning despite himself. "Different isn't bad, just because you prefer different climates or different foods, that doesn't mean you cant be friends." Not minding in the least if others enjoyed the cold, though when the winter had been at its worst he had been a total grump. "You will find patience, I'm pretty sure yo will make some friends and get into doing other things and forget about romance till it bites you in the backside and you go all gaga over some young stallion." Smiling still, trying to get her to relax and loosten up, he wasn't used to serious monotone types, and the few he had met at least had a sense of humour. He really didn't know what to make of this mare, she seemd so bleak with a negative outlook. Shrugging it off, he would talk to her anyway, who knows maybe he could taw her out a little with his friendlyness.
