Tatsuya was heading back to the den he had found a hot spot for hunting some small game and figured it would be good to take some one else to the spot as well. He sniffed about but it seemed most everyone was gone already, but he could still sent one more pack member. It wasn't his poppa or uncle perhaps this would be a chance to get to know one of the other members a bit better.

Maria yawned and stretched slowly, claws kneading at the cold dirt beneath her padded paws as she stretched out each leg before drawing it back. She hated mornings sometimes, specially in the winter. There was always just this need to sleep in, and if there was one thing she hated it was sleeping in past sun up.
Sleeping in was for children, surely a little cold wouldn't keep her from being up early as she could?
Ears perked as she leisurely sauntered out of the den entrance, slipping through the brush that surrounded the entrance, eyes slowly scanning the place. She realized that the others must have all gone out already, off to do one chore or another. To hunt or to meet up with someone..
Nose in the air as she caught a fresh trail of someone still about, now..the question was who? "Mnn...maybe a bit of exploring will be good today?"

Tatsuya came round the bend that lead up to the den, he soon spotted Maria the doberman he had first met when coming here for the first gathering. It hadn't been long since that night but Tatsuya had had a growth spurt and could most defiantly be called full grown now. "Morning Maria." Tatsu said with a wag of his tail. "Up for some hunting? I found a hot spot!"

"Morning Tatsuya" maria said with a small yawn. Tilting her head and grinning softly at the bounding male, bigger now, but still as excitable as he'd been when they'd first met. "Mmph, a hot spot you say? Well I suppose I'm always up for some good hunting." she barked happily with a wag of her short tail, padding closer to the setter.

"Then lets get going!!!" Tatsuya barked happily while prancing in place. "I can't wait to show you there are lots of small prey to catch! Bet we can catch at least one for everyone in the pack. " He said while padding down the path a bit. "So Maria...where did you come from before the pack? If I'm aloud to ask that is?"

Maria grinned and laughed openly, rather enjoying the excitement that radiated off the male. "I assure you I cant wait to see, and when the other's return, well wont we have quite a story to tell them?" New hunting grounds and hot spots were always welcome, especially when the cold winters came about and prey grew more scarce. Small prey made up a good part of their diet in those colder months, the rats and ground birds staying while so many other food sources left.
"Bet we can, or at least you can youngling, I was never much of a rat dog" she blinked curiously as she followed on tatsuyas tail. "Pfft..of course your allowed to ask, I've got no secrets to keep, certainly not such a bad past that I'm not willing to share it." she shrugged softly, thinking back to how things had been before.."Letsee...The wild I suppose..but more truthfully a breeder. Yes I used to have an owner of sorts, an ugly man. I played as his guard dog for a while, a well trained kennel pet before I sought out my own freedom." maria smirked as she said it, the thought of the man made her want to growl sometimes.

"Oh yes perhaps we'll have a good night tidings tale, maybe something fun will happen!!" Tatsuya replied to Maria thinking of what could happen during a hunt. "I even saw a few squirrels..I like squirrels, do you like squirrels? "
"I'll teach you, just like Raithen and Daisuke taught me! Though I sorta come by it naturally." Tatsuya said striking a rather proud stance for a moment straying away from his puppy like energy and looking more like the fearsome hunter the English setter can be.
"Ack Humans, can't stand them. I have a lot of respect for a dog willing to throw off their shackles you know. I'm glad you left the human and joined our pack." Tatsuya said giving her a very genuine smile before heading down the trail that would take them towards the hot spot he had found.

"I do indeed like squirrels..Specially their tails, heh its odd you know..sometimes I've wondered what it might be like if I had a long tail instead of this little stub" she smirked as she wagged it, trotting along at tatsuyas side, eagerly listening to the pup speak. "Oho, you had some great teachers then didn't you pup? I'm rather impressed, who knows, maybe I can still learn some new things" she wasn't sure, but she did believe in the boy's skills, he was a hunter through and through.
Growling softly as she gave a sharp nod, a bit of pride gleaming through her eyes as she tossed her head for a moment, giving him a wide grin. "I'm glad too tatsuya..very glad.." eyes running along the trail, doing her best to memorize it by sight in case she ever came back again.

"To much fluff on the tail for my liking." Tatsuya replied with a laugh. "Oh long tails can be annoying sometimes. Used to give me away on hunts till I got used to it." His paws lifted high on the trot with pride about his teachers and his hunting skills. "I just might be able to show you a thing or two but I'm sure you have something to share as well!" Tatsuya replied he knew all breeds had different ways of hunting he liked to study them all and combine techniques.
As they moved further down the path Tatsu's body language changed. His paws steps became more silent and he slowed his pace. "Not far now." He whispered taking a hunting stance before moving into some taller grasses.The setter pushed himself to the ground as the reached the other side of the grasses. There was a water source and some trees not far from it but between them a clearing that any animal would have to cross to reach the water. It was rather busy with activity in the trees it would not be long before some prey made it's way out into the open.

"Ahh I suppose that's the one upside to having a short tail, doesn't get in the way, certainly doesn't get noticed all that much. Though its absolutely impossible to chase the thing, haha cant ever manage to catch it" she grinned cheekily, listening raptly as tatsuya flaunted his pride. The pup had a lotta sport in him, it was no wonder tatsuya had been invited into the pack, even at such a young age as he was. "I wouldn't say I'm one for sharing, certainly don't have much in the way of 'technique'" unless 'go for the throat' was considered a technique...
Who knew though, maybe she'd manage to impress him as much as he impressed her. Catching onto the change in tatsuya's demeanor, the way he seemed to become more silent, taking on that patented stance. Her ears raised and she dropped her head and neck, listening. Following tatsuya paw for paw, finally having to crawl up along side him on her belly. Well now..didn't he find quite a hidden treasure...this surely was a good spot, water and a nice area. In the harder months animals would have to flock here to meet there basic needs..food and water and such.
Her ears tilting forwards as she let out a slight huffing breath, settling in to watch.
A slight flicker off to the left and hint of feathers as there was a slight rustle in the brush across from them. What looked like a small fat grouse making its way skittishly towards the waters edge for a drink. Ground birds were always so tasty..if albeit a bit messy to clean.
