Near the village and the outskirts, roughly between the two. a long stretch of dirt is made by farmers which are made to plant crops. Medical herbs can be found here for farmers plant them and make them. Food can be made here, corn etc etc etc.

Taya arrived at the outskirts, gazing around the fields. It'd be a calming place to train, which is what she needed to do. She set her pack down, and went about setting up a small camp for herself. Some time later, she had a nice little area set up for her to rest in. Taya reached into her pack, and pulled out her jutsu scroll. She read the next one on the list, after the last one she learned.
{1/5 Earth Holding Technique}
Taya read the jutsu, thinking how useful this would be for people she would need to capture. The earth would rise from the ground, and ensnare the enemy.

Taya began to practice the seals, repeating them over and over. Her trained hands collided, fingers bending to form the correct seals. She went slowly at first, her eyes staying on the scroll so she did not forget.

Once Taya was able to form the seals without glancing at the page, she moved on to actually performing the technique. Taya created a clone and had it walk some ways off. She performed the seals, and sent her chakra racing through the ground.

It took her a minute to get her chakra to move swiftly, though after a few tries she nailed it. The ground around the clone began to sift and churn, rising up around its ankles.

The earth began to solidify, raising around the clones legs, and trapping it. Taya smiled to herself as her clone tried to free itself. It struggled as Taya approached, only to get a hard kick to the face, causing it to poof. The clone would not have been able to free itself, due to Taya's lack of human tank-ness.

{1/5 Volcanic Earth Clone Skill}
Taya stretched her limbs as she read the next technique, and began to teach herself it. She read the description, and looked at the picture. She would have to sacrifice speed for power and pain.

Taya began to perform the seals, her hands intertwining and weaving the seals. She performed them over and over, not taking her eyes off of the paper.

Taya continued to repeat the seals until she had not messed up once, and did not have to look at the paper for guidance. She rose to her feet, and once more weaved the seals, sending her chakra throughout her body.

The earth next to Taya shifted, rising and heating as it did. It began to pile on top of itself, first growing into a simple mound. Taya could feel the heat radiating off of it.

The mound of earth began to take on a humanoid shape, similar to Taya's body. It began to take on her appearance as well, creating a mirror image of her. She stood next to it, and prodded it lightly, only to recoil in pain. She was HOT! Taya then ordered the clone to run, to see how slow it was, which it was slow. She ended the clone after, delivering two solid blows to its head.

Taya read the next jutsu on the list was the Quicksand Skill. Taya nodded her head as she thought of combination attacks. The Quicksand jutsu would be faster, and would also be great for trapping.

Taya began to form the handseals for the jutsu, going slowly at first, and then gaining speed. She did not add in any chakra, nor did she remove her eyes from the paper.

Taya continued to practice with the seals, quickly growing bored with that. Once she did not mess up, nor need to keep her eye on the paper, did she stop practicing.

Taya rose to her feet, once more performing the seals. Her chakra surged through her body, and rushed to her arms. She knelt down and touched the ground, injecting her chakra into the ground.

The ground began to spin and shift, changing from dirt to sand. It created a large, column like shape in the ground, fully compacted with sand. Taya placed her hand on it and leaned forward, watching how quick it sunk into the ground.

Taya sat down on the ground, stretching her legs out infront of her. She looked down the list of Earth Style jutsu, and picked the next one that suited her. It was the Stone Spear jutsu. It could be used offensively or defensively, which made Taya think of a bunch of ways to use this.

Taya studied the hand seals, and went through them a few times over in her head. She didn't bother taking her eyes off, and performed them over for each time she messed up.

Taya continued to do the seals right up until she could do them at a fast pace, without messing up once. She rose to her feet, dusting herself off a bit as she did so. Taya once more performed the seals, and exerted her chakra.

The chakra raced through the ground in a forward motion, causing an odd lump to form. The lump continued to rise, slowly at first, until it gained more and more speed. Finally, it formed into a full spear, jutting out from the ground.

Taya walked over to the spear, and gave it a tug. After a few times of it not even budging, she consulted the scroll. Koutaya face palmed, as she learned that she had to use chakra to remove it from the ground. Once more, Taya approached the spear, placing a palm on it. She grasped it, this time using chakra to pull it out of the ground easily. Taya weighed the spear in her arm, getting used to a weapon she never used before. She gave it a few tosses to get used to it, and soon enough could hit a target from someways off.

Taya knelt down to the ground reading the next jutsu on the list. It was Mud Slide Barrier. It would create a wall infront of her, to protect her or a few allies. The wall would grow 20ft by 15 each rank she grew to.

The wall of mud and earth began to form before her, slowly growing bigger and bigger. At first, it was just a mound, than it grew outward. It grew until it was 20 feet wide, and than began to grow upward.

The wall now began to raise itself, gathering more earth and what not. It rose to 4 feet, and Taya continued to supply it with chakra. Now at 10 feet, it continued to gather earth, though it was already enough to cover her. Finally, it reached its limit, and ended its growth.

Taya read over the next jutsu, thinking that she would learn another animal. She refocused herself, looking at the scroll once more. The jutsu would cover her in a thin armor, which would have large needles jutting off of her.

The earth around Taya rose up slowly, gathering all around her. It moved to her, and she spread her arms and legs out. The earth began to attach to her body, covering her in a thin layer.

Once she was completely covered with the earth, she applied a bit more chakra, and watched as needles formed upon her skin. They were small at first, though grew in size. She felt quite menacing, and wouldn't want to get in a brawl with...herself.

Taya laid on her back, holding the scroll up as she read over the next jutsu. She would be able to create a chasm, which could swallow things up. It would be used defensively, though Taya could think of a few ways to hurt people with this.

Taya slammed her hands to the ground, keeping a constant stream of chakra. At first, the chasm began to grow downwards, stopping once it was at 10 feet.

The chasm began to grow wider, from a tiny sliver, to 3 feet. Taya walked over to the chasm, peering down into it. She could see the bottom, though it was about 5 feet lower than what she would be able to reach.

Taya read over the next jutsu, feeling a bit drained. Perhaps she would take a break afterwords. She rolled her shoulders, shaking off the exhaustion. This jutsu would create a dome of earth to encase herself in, which would protect her.

Taya once more slammed her hands on the ground, and shot chakra to the ground. All around her, in a circular shape. The walls began to rise around her.

The walls were now over her head, and began to meet at the top. She continued to pump chakra, up until the light was cut off, and she was trapped inside. Taya stood to her feet, examining her work. This was definitely a defensive jutsu. Taya ended it, and watched her work crumble around her. She decided it was time to settle down for the night, and did just that. Taya fell asleep rather quickly, despite the days events.

Taya awoke the next day, feeling refreshed. She immediately set out to pack up her camp, erasing any trace of her from the area. After having done so, Taya set out for the Sound Village, intent on raiding the library for specific books she would need. She set off at a steady pace, not intending to wear herself down.

Koutaya arrived at the outskirts, having not bothered to use the road. She set her camp up once more, and laid upon her back. She closed her eyes and allowed the breeze to wash over her, enveloping her very being. If only just for a moment, Taya could see Gin, smiling at her for the first time. She opened her eyes in shock. Tears threatened to pour down her face, though she blinked them away. To love someone meant to never hurt them, never leave them. Gin had done both of those things, in the matter of moments. There was never any love, thought Taya. So detachment would be easy. She needed to be a cold-blooded killer in order to survive in this world. Taya rose to her feet, and began to dig around for a certain scroll.

Koutaya removed the Water Scroll she had, unraveling it upon a rock. She used her finger to locate the first technique, and quickly eliminated it. Now was no longer the time for fun and games, she needed real techniques that could protect her, or kill others.

Taya studied the handseals of the jutsu, quickly spotting that they were relatively easy. She copied the seals, slowly at first, and then gathering speed. Once she had the seals learned by heart, Taya located a little pond, albeit may have been a little stagnant. She performed the hand seals she had just learned, and felt the pull from her chakra. The water from the pond rose, leaving behind the impurities as it did so. It gathered next to her, creating a humanoid shape at first. Then, it solidified and took on Taya's features, down to the weary look in her eyes. She studied the clone, and then dispatched it, proud of her work.

Koutaya studied the next jutsu, seeing how this one could come in handy 1000 times over. She read over the seals, using her hands to imitate them until she had them down by heart. Taya performed them once more, and her chakra was drawn upon. She focused upon the water, raising it above the surface. She had a small blob of water under her control. Taya began to make different shapes with it. She thought about how easily it would be to scald someone with the heated water, and tried to raise it's temperature to boiling point. Soon enough the water was bubbling, and then Taya dropped the temperature, freezing the water over.

Taya studied the next jutsu, and realized how useful this would be in barren areas such as Sunagakure. She studied the hand seals and imitated them. Her hands weaved together, fingers intertwining and them releasing, and then back again to create more seals.

Taya performed the seals once more, this time drawing into her chakra. She pulled only a little out, just enough for a possible clone. Taya was amazed at how the water burst from her, floating around her like an odd halo. She smiled at her ability to complete the jutsu, and dropped the water into the pond, creating little ripples.

Taya read over the next jutsu, seeing how it was a low-ranking attack technique. She sighed, not enjoying having to start at the bottom. Perhaps this will make her wiser, or something similar. She thought about her task to come as she formed the seals, etching them into her memory.

Taya performed the seals once more, drawing upon her chakra. The water from the little pond rose, in the shape of a small ball. Taya directed it at the ground, and watched it as it slammed into the ground, making a small thud.
