well, any special reasons why you decided to join chorus?
for me, my first thought was to get away from general music class xp stressed hate hate hate it! we actually have homwork from it sweatdrop since we have to take a choice of chorus, band or general music, but i was really inspired to sing after seeing moulin rouge the movie, i got the soundtrack to it when teh movie came out, but never saw it till i rent it last year and really loved it and got a dvd whee then last year, there was a special performance of our skool A Cappella group formed by the best singers of the 7th adn 8th grade chorus ppl, they were awesome surprised
oh and the 7th and 8th grade chorus and band get to go to 6 flags in april whee

I started choirs in... I guess it was technically fourth grade, when the director held auditions for the school 5th Grade Honor's Choir.
She said not to try out if you don't intend on being in choir anyway, but I did, because I wanted to be special (hey, I was a 10-year-old, gimme a break). Over 100 kids tried out, but there were only 20 places, so my chances weren't that good.
I made it. Been in choirs on and off since then... and was in it every year of highschool.
Hell of it is, the top choir at my school last year (A Capella) is actually better than the choirs that I wasn't "good enough" to make here at college. Oh, well. I'll try again next year. ._.;;

I joined choir at the begining of my sophomore year. I always loved singing, but I was a band kid heh... Well I had a friend who was a real choir nerd, and he convinced me to join choir. So, I did. I made it to Pre-Area in the All State auditions, and moved up to the highest choir at semster. Good times.

The 9/11 attack. Seriously. I had a bunch of friend who were in choir, so I'd always go with them to the choir room at lunch, and occasionally I'd sit in on the 7th period general choir.
So, the attacks happen, and everyone is sad, so we all went down to the choir room, and we sat around singing all day. It was really helpful.
The next day I went and signed up for choir.

Was in choir since 7th grade, but wasn't really serious about singing until my first music theater production (Oklahoma!). Then decided to join choir in college and now they give me money as long as I stay and don't piss the director off too much. This is getting difficult, as I know where he lives and have friends who are eager to TP.
Yay, choir!

I've loved to sing all of my life, and a few friends of my parents who are professional musicians commented that "that girl has a voice" when I was pretty small. I was in my first actual choir when I was in... fourth grade? no, fifth grade, because Sarah was there, so I had already started riding. anyways, the choir director from the high school (my current director) started a Community Childrens Chorus, so I jumped a the chance. I was in that for three years, before it kind of fizzled out from lack of interest (stupid people!) but by that time I was old enough to be in the middle school choir (7th and 8th only at my middle school). We really sucked. like, we scored a 43 at contest sucked. And we all hated the director, and most people dropped out by the end of eighth grade, but I stayed in because I thought it was worth it to deal with the crazy director if I got to sing. Plus, being as I was one of the only ones who cared, I was one of the better singers in our choir at the time. Got to high school and joined Women's Choir for freshman year, auditioned at the end of Freshman year for Chamber Singers, got in, and this will be my third year with the group. I've done a bit of musical theater as well, ( heart Les Miserables! heart ) but always on chorus because I freak out at singing auditions now. never used to, but that's my wonderful new habit. I'm planning to stay in choir once I get to college, and mostly just sing every chance that I get.

Yeah I sing up and down the halls all the time. The first time I met the choir directors was singing outside the choir room. They say me singing and said "your not in choir are you?" I was like "no" and theyre like "your not bad, join choir" But I kinda ignored them (yes them, we have 3 directors) Untill my friend was like JOIN CHOIR and I didm it was fabulous. And Oh my gosh I did Les Mis last year. It was sooooo fun!

I'm still singing the songs. xd The best thing about it though, was a few weeks before performance, we took a bus to Dignity Village, a homeless camp a few hours from where we live, and did a sort of concert performance for them. It really brings the whole spirit of the production home when you realize that these are the people that this whole thing is about.

I do like 2-3 shows a year (drama stuff not including choir) Our school usually does two show a year, a musical in the fall with Steighner, and a play in the spring with Krum. This year, however, Steighner decided that he wanted to make his life even more insane and stressfull and direct two musicals at the same time. eek So we, had Jekyll and Hyde and Jane Eyre running simultaneously. I wasn't able to do either this year because of time, but I'm currently in Krum's play "The Mummy's Claw" which has been way too much fun so far. hehe, I love farse. xd
