I went to the gym!

*hears gasps from all*

One of my new years resolutions is ((like every year)) to loose weight, but every year I don't and I end up gaining more then I did the year before. Hell, I'm sure a few of you remember me trying out Weight Watchers just a year ago, and it sucked.

Well, now that Toboe has a gym membership, it got me into wanting to go, and I thought I was gonna die after 10 mins on the cardio machines! I felt sick too, and that's because of how unfit and out of shape I am.

I vowed that I will loose 20-30 lbs by June, and since it's healthy to loose 2-3 lbs a week, it works out.

2-3 lbs week (4 weeks in a month)
8-12 lbs month (Jan-June is 6 months)
48-82 lbs by June (I am ending at the end of June to count it being a full month)

Now, I know I won't loose 48-82 lbs in that time, so I went to 20-30 which will put me between 260 and 250 lbs. I want to go to the gym an hr a day, even on days I work, and start off with 30 mins cardio to warm up and then do muscle sets for another 30.

I AM GOING TO LOOSE IT THIS YEAR IF IT KILLS ME!!

Congrats Sat-chan! I think the only way I could be motivated to exercise was if I was paying for it.

Two years ago I started to go to a Tae Kwon Do class twice a week, and I absolutely loved it. It was like a 45 minute boot camp, since the teachers were mean and enjoyed making the students stretch just a little farther, or hold the push ups for a couple more seconds. But it was fun, and since I was in a class where the ages ranged from middle schoolers to middle age, it was very intimidating. Not to mention I loved learning something useful, since the point of the class was to learn fighting and self-defense.
But then I got fibromyalgia, and I haven't worked out since. I miss it so much.... crying

GO SAT-CHAN!! blaugh It'll be difficult, but hopefully you'll find some fun in it. The best work outs are the ones you enjoy, because then you find meaning in doing them. And stretching is fun; well, not at first, but the more you do them, the farther you can reach. It was so cool when I could easily put my palms on the floor!

good for you ^.^ exercise is always good, though painful at first sweatdrop *shouldn't talk because she never does any anymore*

speaking of martial arts, i think when i go off to college, i'll take up a karate class or something. it'd give me some exercise, relieve some stress, get some discipline in me, and i could kick a** >D i tried judo years and years ago, but i think i quit after a month because i wasn't interested at the time.

anyway, good luck with your resolution, Sachan! ^.^

I do plan on doing something I love at the gym... RACHET BALL! OMG I love playing that, and it's very heart pounding/sweaty fun too! In case you don't know the game, it's a lot like tennis, cept you're standing up and you play against a wall. I don't know a lot of the rules, but I've always played it where we have to let the ball bounce once anywhere then we hit it back against the wall.

Golds Gym has a pool, hot tub, sauna, Rachet Ball court (2), basketball, Cardio Cinema (we watch movies in the dark while working out), Spining class (you work out on bikes with an instructor), along with all kinds of work out equipment biggrin

Toboe paid almost $200 (he used the X-mas gift his folks gave us to get it) and monthly it's only $30 for 1 year. To add me will be another $88, but will only make the monthly bill $35-$40. Other then that until we get the other $88 bucks I'm a visiter, which gets 24 hrs for $10 (not a bad thing I can go as many times as I want for only $10, but only 24 hrs lol).

ooo *likes hot tubs because the water's hot* the local Y doesn't have one...they have a jet pool that's semi-attached to the main pool, which is all nice, but i like the hot water...

the Cardio Cinema is a neat idea. though i'm sure if there was popcorn involved, it'd be a bit counter-productive XD *shot*

good to hear it's a managable price biggrin

I want a metal DDR pad for my PC. Before I gave my old thick foam pad to seddy, I would play non-stop mode on heavy everyday using stepmania. My highest time in non-stop mode was 83 min.

I wish you the best of luck. I have similar plans but it is more for bulking up because of my health problem.

lol! That was one of the things Toboe and I joked about when we started the cardio. Then it tured to me going "You can do this, you can do this, you can do this" the rest of the time, so I wouldn't be able to eat if I wanted to lol
