Relevant- I briefly skimmed through the first episode and its wikipedia summary before, the only thing I can remember from it was a chick slamming a guitar into a dude. xD
I thought it was pretty unique and interesting but never continued after the first episode. As for Elfen Lied, haven't watched it yet, the storyline just didn't seem really interesting to me. No lie.
If you liked FLCL, I suggest you watch Haruhi Suzumiya if you haven't already.
