I don't think it's fair to any human, to be able to repent and be saved and go to heaven. Say a man has been killing women and children...doing everything you could think to them. He finally gets caught and he's dying....he repents for his sins....he goes to heaven. Now that doesn't seem right. How about this...someone just robbed a bank, while robbing the bank they shot and killed three people. As he's dying slowly, from being shot by the police, he repents and goes to heaven. You, for example, stole a candy bar out of the store and you get hit by a car...you go to hell.
What is the line...."Repent and you shall be saved"...??? A sin is a sin, I just find repenting to be so...f**ked up.

I think the mate that came up with that little line meant that you'd be honestly sincere about it. Not just " I know I killed them, and I'm really, really, really sorreh d00d!" But more on an emotional/spiritual level, ya dig? And if you steal a candy bar, just for the sake of stealing i.e you're not starving, trying to feed a hungry family, or completely desperate well then... Serves you right you thief! Though I think any sort of higher power would be a bit more understanding then that.

still it's the point of the thing...I'm pretty sure if someone steals a candy bar the last thing they are thinking about is other ppl...
and
so you're saying if this man killed ppl you loved and repented in a honest to good way you would be ok with him going to heaven?

Just think of how much better off we would all be if we had a justice system that with 100% accuracy could know the hearts and minds of those behind bars or of those being prosecuted for a crime. Repentance isn't just a few empty words, it's brought on by an entire change of ones being. Wouldn't a just system or a just God take that into account?

I think to repent.. you would have to do somthing to make up for it...
If you killed someone willingly for your own ill-deed.. then there is no Repenting for that..
But say you stole somthing from someone, and you apoligized both to your deity, and the person you stole from, as well as pay them back you should be fine..
That is however, saying that stealing one thing sends you to hell.. No It dosn't.. I actually don't believe in Hell.. I believe in Reincarnation

Except repenting is just that. Empty words. If you were truly sorry you wouldn't do it in the first place neutral I’m missing the feeling… so this pain is also welcomed! natsukashiku naru konna itami mo kangeijan

Like I said it's not fair, for a man that has killed, raped, and hurt women and children to repent and go to heaven..that's wrong!!! He should burn in hell!!!!

This reminds me of a comic strip I saw. So, two guys in heaven recognize each other. One says, "Wait, aren't you the guy who killed and robbed me?" The other guy: "Yeah, but I repented."

You misunderstood me, or I didn't convey it properly. What I mean't with it being more of an emotional, or spiritual matter of repentance would be of I believe a lesser wrong, than killing or rape. Now obviously if a man rapes and kills your whole family, he isn't gonna feel remorse, I don't believe people change like that, no matter how much time their given. A psycho is a bloody psycho to the end.

In the bible, it says that if you repent, and you mean it whole-heartedly, God will forgive you.
But even if you repent, and God forgives you, you will still have to deal with the consequences of your actions. Let's say I killed a man in anger, and I repented and asked God for forgiveness. He will forgive me if I mean it, but I still have to go to court, and see the faces of the dead guy's family and stuff, and do my time in the pen. I'll still have to bear the burden of my actions.
And just becuase God does, doesn't mean that the guy's family and friends or society will forgive you. It's not like God just says, "okay, bro. Don't do it again, kay?"

You dont need a repent and be saved thing when your god will judge you instead, my religion has nothing like that and leaves the salvation of its followers to the follwoers themselves who will pay for their actions when gods and godess who will judge and test their soul
