Maansi lay in the grasses beneath a nice shady tree. She had a drink of water at a nearby waterhole and now she was content to rest. As long as the sun was not pouring down onto her dark pelt, she stay put for now. He thought drifted along aimless, as she thought of nothing in particular, her eyes scanning the savannah. Their was what appeared to be a mountain of in the distance. She'd never seen one quite like it and she'd been heading toward for several days now. It would have been far easier and quicker if she did not study other things as she traveled. She come across a very interesting cheetah, but other that that she mostly watched the world around her.
Maansi lifted her head slightly shifting to keep her paw from falling asleep. It was such as lazy day. Even though she was content to relax she really wished something interesting would happen. Maansi yawned her eyes drifting closed, slipping of into a comfortable nap.

Drathir was prowling along the edges of the pridelands, lost in thought. His actions of a few days previous were weighing heavily on his mind - he'd attained his vengence at long last but as much as it filled him with cruel satisfaction, it also left a bitter taste in his mouth.
Now that he'd killed Iartuupe... what was he to do? Morifaerion had said his task would not be complete until he'd fought his way through to the throne and taken his rightful place, but after that... then what? He would lead the pride alongside his short-sighted father. He curled his lip at that, the hatred the god had nurtured stirring as Drathir turned to it to remind him of his purpose. His father would see he was a fool to support the soft and weak Amin... Amin, who he would have to face in the coming tournament... along with his other siblings.
Thankful for the lag between summons and tournament's beginning, he favoured his injured shoulder as he walked and rumbled with annoyance, determined to work the kinks from the muscles. He would not slay Iar only to fall against his brethren.
Glancing up as the scent of a female drifted past his nose, the Prince of the Demons narrowed his eyes and scanned the grasses. A dark shape, whose pelt was slashed with echoes of his own colours, became visible as he searched and he stopped, a low, threatening rumble carrying across the distance, "You should not be here, outsider. State your business."

Maansi was slightly startled, but tried her best not to show it. She looked up all traces of sleep gone as she had been jolted awake. She did not answer at first looking over the rather threatening male that stood before her. He had colors like hers, but he was no where near ordinary. His marking were very interesting and Maansi was instantly intrigued. She pushed her thoughts away for a moment and focused on the moment.
"I did not think I crossed any borders. If I have pls forgive me, but the mountain over there is rather intriguing and it is what has brought me here."
Maansi gave the male a feral grin, for her thought were elsewhere. The mountain was interesting, but something about this stranger seemed to warrent investigation and Maansi was not certain whether it was just his marking.
"If I have not crosses your borders and I do not think I have, what harm am I to you?"
Maansi was unable to hide her curiosity even in what seemling could turn into a hostile situation.

"That mountain is a volcano, stranger, and it will turn you to ash if you try to infringe upon those sacred grounds." He replied evenly, tail lashing, "You have crossed the border rogue, and your presence is not welcome. You tread in the lands of the Aikanaro'hini and only demons hold sway here. Threat? You are no threat, an inconvenience, perhaps, but no threat."
He tossed his head and flashed his teeth, "Begone unless you seek your demon. I will not warn you again, consider my kindness before you move deeper into the pridelands."

Maansi looked to the volcano the males words fading into the distance. She barely heard him, rising from her position, turning toward it memorized.
"I have never seen a volcano before," she said quietly.
Maansi seemed intranced which was not uncommon when something interested her and her desire to know about it was strong. Only when the male mention the word demon a second time did her attentions shift.
"Seeking my demon," she questioned. "A demon, huh? Is that what you are? I thought that was the stuff of legends, something for god's speak of. You do not look totally out of the ordinary."
Maansi circles him slowly, he gaze observant and questioning. She held not an ounce of threat in her motions, more like a curious saunter.
She frowned thinking on his words, words which she would normally ignore. She did not wish to leave, her desire to know was to strong, but the male also did not seem as though he should be crossed, no matter how she wanted to wipe away his arrogance currently.

"Then you gaze upon one now." He arched a brow, unsure of her speech. She made no threatening motions but her speech was slow, curious... and it made him frown. Was she so ignorant? The demons were infamous! They struck fear in the hearts of those who opposed them, stole cubs away, sparked wars and raided dens?
Foolish female. He snorted, "Demon? You speak to a Prince of the Demons. I am lion... fuelled by the strength and power of a demonic soul. There is no need to look different when my skill remains the same. Do you doubt me, stranger?" There was an edge to his question, a subtle challenge as he shifted to follow her with his gaze.

Maansi continued to circle the male, looking him over as she listened to him speak. She pulled his scent into her nostrils memorizing him, as she did when she met anyone new.
"I am from far away, but I travel a lot and I can feel that you are different Prince. I do not doubt you."
She did not care for his challenge and she stopped before him and frowned slight looking to his injured shoulder. She wondered why one would challenge another when they were obviously injured.
"Currently my interest lies inside that volcano. It has fueled my desire to know what is inside it for long enough to keep me headed straight for it and I will know," she said daring him to say she wouldn't.
She lay down looking up at Drathir. "What happened to your shoulder? It smells fresh and seems rather nasty." She looked it over her mind working to think of what could have happened. The answer came to her easily, but she wanted to hear it from the prince.

"That volcano is no simple place, stranger. Your presence will not be tolerated and I will not allow you to enter it unchallenged. Only those who seek their names are permitted entrance and you are neither seeking names nor gods." He rumbled, dropping his head as he took on an aggressive posture, "Only demons may tread there."
He huffed at her comment, making a point to put his full weight on that leg. No self-respecting demon would reveal his weaknesses, "It is fresh. And I received it when I slew Morifaer's Aran'shale. I will be the next king, stranger, I say once more and only once more, do not cross me."

Maansi had grown irritated with being called stranger, coming from the males lips it was an insult. "My name is Maansi'Vani," she stated shortly.
"I will enter the volcano, even if I must earn the right to do so. Who are you to say what I seek? You know not what I am or where I come from. Who are you to say that I am not a demon?"
Maansi felt extremely riled, which was an emotion that was new to her. An emotion this prince was causing. She growled, closing her eyes and attempting to calm her pulsing blood.
She did not open her eyes but ground out, "I will not cross you future king of the demons."
Irritation rose and she grinned thinking the emotions running through her, examining and feeling them, but at the same time pushing them back. After a few moments, she opened her eyes and looked to the volcano againt. She was determined, though she did not know why, that she would enter the volcano.

"Maansi'Vani..." He echoed, tasting the name, weighing it, "I am Sil'in Drathir. I have the right to gainsay anything you wish or think within these lands, I am an Heir, fool. My father was a pride founder, my roots run deeper then your thoughts, Maansi."
He lifted his head, however, when she said she would not cross him, "If you hear the whisper of a demon, an inner voice, and can walk among us without falling prey - prove yourself strong enough - you may earn a spot within a pride and learn your true name. Do you heed the call?"
It was a final offer, an edge to his voice as he began to pace towards her, gruff and confident despite his wounds.

Maansi smirked at hearing her name, but frowned at being called a fool. She been calm once more, but she could feel her blood began to boil once more. She was many things, but a fool was not one of them.
She found herself irritated by her own ignorance as well. With such a dangerous thirst to know, why did she not know. He blood was pulsing as her irritation grew.
Drathir was speaking again and she closed her eyes drinking in the words and etching them in her mind. She would remember everything he said in the short conversation. When he asked if she heeded the call, she did not need to look at the volcano to know.
She simply rose, eyes on Drathir as he approached. She was a bit unsure of him, but none the less she answer, "I do."

He nodded at that, the first friendly gesture he'd made since their encounter began and as he shoved her with his good shoulder, Drathir nodded towards the volcano, "Then follow me into the Realm of the Demons, Maansi."
Turning away, he flicked his tail and started off without looking back. If nothing else, she was strong willed and showed enough confidence to stand against his aggression - perhaps a darker voice slumbered within.

Maansi smiled slightly although she was taken slightly aback. He was suddenly friendly and a bit aloof. Almost, really just as interesting as the volcano. So much she didn't understand, wrapped in red, gold and black.
Maansi said nothing in return and simply followed the prince and future king toward the pride. She stayed just slightly to his left and behind him a bit, watch the mystery, wanting to know more and wondering if all demons were like Drathir.
