It has been ten years since time compressed and the Sorceress of the future, Ultimecia, was defeated. For a time, life returned to normal. But after an event like that, nothing is ever really normal again. Esthar had been revealed to the outside world, Galbadia was in ruins and SeeD finally knew of their true purpose.

The group that defeated Ultimecia, "Matron's Children", would never have truly normal lives. They trained fellow SeeDs, knowning that years from now, maybe well after they were dead and burried, a Sorceress would kill them all. They decided to do everything in their power to change that future, or at least give it some hope.

Now that hope is on the brink of dispair. A group in Galbadia, the Restoration Act, is determined to return Galbadia to it's former state. This means beating Esthar into submission and killing the only Sorceress known to the world. SeeD Commander Squall Leonhart is aware of the threat to both his father's country and his wife's life.

SeeD now has a new mission, to protect the Sorceress and the peace Matron's Children bought with their pain. The Second Sorceress War is about to begin.

Crystal sat in the Balamb Garden Library, carefully reading the history of the Garden facilities themselves. The old Headmaster, Cid, made all of these documents available to the Garden students after the Garden's true purpose had been revealed.

Squall, the head of SeeD, had called all active SeeDs to Balamb for a conferance. Crystal was not enthused about leaving her mother's house, but Seifer, the current Headmaster, asked her himself to attend.

She looked around the Library to see if anyone else was there.

Mickale walked into the library quietly and approached one of the book shelves. This meeting had given him a reason to do a little research in the library. He examined each one and pulled off several books, naming each one quietly while he did it "The Sorceress War.......The Great Hyne......and The Power of the Sorceress." He turned and looked at some of the other people in the room, and then walked to the front desk. "Please Check these out for me."

“Oh, really Crystal. Don’t get me started.” Kevin managed to say before Mickale walked in.

Kevin stood and walked over to Mickale with Crystal. “Hi Mickale, how are… Not you to!” Kevin said looking at the books in Mickale’s hand. “I can’t believe it! How do ya’ll read that stuff? I HATE it with a passion.” Kevin was amazed that these two loved history that much.

Kevin began to walk to the door. “So, are ya‘ll going to stand there all day? We have a conference to go to. Ya’ll don’t want to be late. It’ll be an insult to SeeD and a bad example for the inexperienced SeeDs.

Mickale picked his books up off the counter and walked down the hallway, following Crystal and Gage. "We still have ten minutes, I believe we will get there on time." Mickale looked over at Gage regarding his earlier comment "And what exactly is wrong with the literature I choose to read?"

Crystal opened the door to the old classroom and was assaulted by the noise. It was already crowded, all of the seats were taken and some were even sitting on the desks. Obviously, no one had expected this big of a turnout this quickly.

None of the SeeD leaders had arrived yet though, so Crystal gave a sigh of relief and tried to see if there was even one chair left unoccupied.

(I appologize for the wall of text now, but I figure this should get things going)

The room grew quiet as the door opened. Four people came in, each with an air of authority about them. Every SeeD in the room rose to their feet and knew who they all were on sight: the Sorceress Rinoa Leonhart and her Knight/husband Commander Squall Leonhart, Headmistress of Galbadia Garden Quistis Trepe and Headmistress of Trabia Gardern Selphie Kinneas.

Squall motions everyone to be seated. His three companions find chairs and pull them up behind him. There is a sad air about him, more-so than usual. He leans heavily on the desk in front of him for a moment, as if planing some drastic plan. He takes a deep breath and looks at the group. A smile pulls at the side of his face, but everything else is a cold mask.

"Thank you all for coming," he says, "I wish it was for happier news. As many of you may have heard, Galbadia Garden was attacked last week by what we thought were Galbadian soldiers. Upon investigation, we found that these were no ordinary soldiers. These were members of a faction, called the Restoration Act. We underestimated them. Galbadia suffered heavy damage in the attack but luckily we had no casualties and only a few injuries. We were able to fight them off, only to find out that this was only a group to test our abilities. The boarders of Esthar were attacked as well and they did suffer heavy casualties. President Lorie called SeeD personally to act as an embassador to Galbadia, not knowing of their attack on us. A small group of eliete SeeDs were dispatched to Galbadia to assess the situation. What we found was not good news.
"The Restoration Act has taken over the government. We all know that in the ten years since their last President's death, their government had been anything but stable and we were all hoping for the best. Our team was detained and two were captured in the escape. SeeDs Kinneas and Dincht have been listed as POW and Galbadia has declared war on both Garden and Esthar. Galbadia Garden has been relocated to Tear's Point in Esthar."

The group of SeeDs gasped. Everyone knows that for Irvine and Zell to get captured means that these soldiers are good, or have something over Garden that no one is telling. Squall continues.

"Since this declaration a week ago, seven assasination attempts have been made to members of SeeD, myself included. Fortunatly none have succeeded. From now all, all SeeD missions will work in teams. Team assignments will be given throughout the week. No one is to leave Garden, not even for Balamb, without a team assignment. There are no exceptions. Some teams will simply be given to a team leader and the number the team needs to be. In that case, the team leader will choose their teamates and report to either myself or one of the Headmasters."

He leans on the desk again. He doesn't like having these orders, much less giving them.

"Anyone who is caught outside of Garden without assignment or alone will be detained in the lower levels. I am sorry."

With that, he turns and leaves. For a moment, the room is silent. His three companions look at each other, then Rinoa rushes after him. The other two aren't far behind. Just before Quistis leaves, she looks at Crystal and nodds. Crystal salutes back. After the eliete SeeDs are gone, the room erupts with noise, and none of it happy. Many of the SeeDs are furious at the orders, and lack of reasoning.

Crystal looks back at Kevin and Mickale. She signals both of them.
"Walk with me." She says and walks out of the room.

Kevin waked silently out of the room as Crystal becound him. 'Here we go, gotta bend the rules all the time don't we...' he thought as he followed Cyrstal and Mickale.
