Vati has brought his son's girlfriend to a rather shaded area beside the swamp, ready for her talk the older lioness sat up and wrapped a paw around the pink lioness, smiling brightly as she spoke.
"So, tell me, what do you think of my son?"
She was wayyy to excited.

Kirana was a bit confused by Vati, she liked the older lady very much, but wasn't sure why she had taken so much interest in her. It was only their first meeting after all, but she really didn't mind. She was just happy that the red female like her, what would she do if her best friend's mother didn't like her?
That just wouldn't do.
At the question she tilted her head pressing her lips together in thought. What did she think of Ravii? Well she liked him that was for sure, he was definitely her best friend and she never got tired of being around him. She was a bundle of energy, almost like a cub, and he was relaxed and calm, most of the time, so they balanced each other out well.
And even if she was feeling the slightest bit sad just seeing him made her light up. What did that mean?
"Well," she began frowning slightly as she looked up at Vati. "Ravii's my best friend, I'd be lost without him.

Vati smirked at Kira's words and nodded, her lean frame relaxed.
"Best friend."
Vati nodded and took in her words with a smile, though she was hoping to hear something more. She wanted her son to have a normal life, but with what happened to him as a cub, well, she felt he may never be able to have that.
"So, just friends?"
She hinted.

The pink female nodded, that was one thing she was completely sure of. Though had she met anyone else when she first arrived in the swamplands, well they could've easily been her best friend but at the same time she knew there was something special about Ravii. She felt as though they would've found each other regardless of anything else that could've happened.
"I think so?" She responded furrowing her brows in confusion, she didn't understand what the other female was trying to imply. "He...compliments me?" Kirana told her uncertainty in her tone. "I just know that even if I'm feeling a little bit down just seeing him makes my whole day better," that she stated confidently nodding.
But that's just what happened with friends, right? They were supposed to make you feel better.

Vati understood now, this girl really did care about her son, and because of this... Vati loved her. It was good to know Ravii would be loved and cared for now, she felt like such a failed mother for so long... because of what had happened.
"I am very glad he has someone like you in his life, dear."
She nodded with a bright smile.
"After what happened, I am thankful for you."

"Thank you," she mumbled embarrassed. She dropped her gaze down and traced a circle in the ground, it meant so much that Vati accepted her, that she liked her. She had been so nervous early, she had never met anyone's parents before, at least not on her own.
"Why are you thanking me?" she asked not understanding the situation. There was no reason to thank her, not to her at least. Her ears flattened against her head and she frowned. "What happened Vati?" She asked feeling a sight tightening of her chest.
From her point of view it must have been rather bad for her to be thanked for simply being Ravii's friend. It appeared that while the red lioness knew, Kirana wasn't quite aware of her own feelings.

"Oh, he didn't tell you?"
She frowned, sighing. Yeah, he wouldn't have. He was very careful of what he told people. She felt a bit strange telling her this now. She hoped her son would understand.
"When he was little... his grandmother kidnapped him, she thought he was a seer, like his sister."
She paused and looked down.
"When she found out he wasn't..."
She couldn't go on. She looked up and nodded... as if letting the other female know the story was too grim.
"My son has been through hell and back."

The female shook her head, "no...he didn't." She sighed, she could understand why he wouldn't say anything, they hadn't known each other for that long but she wished he would have at least mentioned it. She would ask him sometime, in a gentle way. She wouldn't push him but she eventually wanted to know.
As Vati told her bits of the story she found her breath catching in her throat. He had been kidnapped and hurt in someway shape or form. At the female's last sentence she finally breathed out and felt as though her heart was breaking.
"Oh Ravii..." she mumbled shaking her head. She felt like crying. "I...you...Ravii..." She was at a loss for words. She wanted to go find the black and red male.

"I just think that if you are going to be apart of his life, you needed to know."
She nodded and gave the younger female a nuzzle against her forehead, purring a bit as if to relax her, let her knew everything was going to be okay.
"He has you now, so I trust he will be better off now."
Even if they never became more than friends... she was very happy her son let someone in.

"T-thank you," she stuttered pressing her nose against the female's neck. She pulled back a small, if weak, smile upon her lips. "I'm sorry Vati," she began with a soft sigh. She shook her head, it wasn't that she didn't want to spend time around the older female, she just needed to go and see Ravii. She didn't need him to tell her anything, she just wanted to see him.
"Thank you," she tried again taking a step back, "but I need to go." She smiled again at the female before turning away. "I...I think I need to go see Ravii," she explained looking back at the red female. "Thank you again." With that she began to trot off in the direction she remembered her friend heading off in.

The elder lioness nodded and sat back down, watching the pink female head off. She hoped that her kindness could help heal her son's dark heart. She hoped.
"Alright."
She nodded. Maybe this was for the better.
