Yeah, one girl used to call me 'band nerd' because I answered to it... I would give her s**t about it but technically we're supposed to be friends.

Yep.
Here's a story.
My non band friends HATE band, and I'm the biggest band geek at my school. I would always talk about band at school and at lunch. It got so bad that they made a list of rules the limited me from talking about band. And if I broke the rules, I was not allowed to sit with them at lunch.
Harsh, I know. But they're my friends. smile

I have around 6 non band friends, then some non band acquaintances. Even in College all of my friends are in marching band, or met through a band friend, but now everything is about having non musicmajor friends razz

all my non-band friends call me a band-nerd-so i just say their mad that they have no idea what we band nerds are talking about. Just mention something like, "we need to work on tounging our six-teenth notes while still playing piano" and their faces look so confunsed! XP
Once i waz talking about needing to play more softly so i used the term piano. my non-band friend looked up and said "u play the piano?"-i play clarinet. XD

I think all my non-band friends are music majors or in choir or whatever, so they're cool with band. And in general people seem to really like the marching band at my school, which is awesome.

haha, all my anti-band froends are in choir, and I always tell them that they should join band instead, because the choir teacher picks favorites, and if you NOT a favorite, you basically fail the class.

I have a lot of non-band friends, though band kids make up most of my friend roster.
-More then half of my non-band friends were either once in band or like band. One particular friend came to football games just to see us, even before we were friends. -Those that do not like band respect band. One particular friend, who i am pretty good friends with, tried flute once, and failed. She is in choir so understands a lot of what I say when i talk about music. She doesn't hate band and we have a lot of conversations involving band.(My favorite conversation sof ar is the "what happens when non-band kids enter the band room".)

My closest friends ever have never set foot in a band room in their lives.
The only band camp they know is the one from American Pie...and even then, they get the references wrong. One thought the oboe scene was with a flute... In correcting him I got a whole spiel on "LOL YOU WOULD KNOW THAT" and etc. He also thinks there's some kind of kung-fu marching band that his niece is in...but doesn't know what it's called to explain any further. No idea what he's talking about there. XD Oh well.

Well, I have a 2 best friends in band, one plays oboe and the other plays bassoon, so we all got pretty aquainted with how each other plays, so we know what kind of problems they have. I get along with pretty much everyone in honors(my band) band and symphonic band...except the weirdos, like this one guy who my firends and I caught playing light sabers with a hockey stick and talking to himself and then this one gguy who doesn't even shower....yeahhh but my choir friends completely annoy me! They say choir is harder because they have to memorize songs and I'm always like "News for you! We do too!" Gah!
