I don't know why, but I was just thinking...
Isn't it a little ironic how AVA (angels and airwaves) is the same name of Tom DeLonge's daughter, Ava?

Haha.
I think that's partially why he included the v in AvA.
It makes sense though, because v is also a mathematical term for "and".

The story behind that is: Tom was trying to think of a band name and he said Angels and Airwaves came into his head, and then he thought the abbreviation would be AAA and if he turned the middle A upside down it would be AVA and that was the same name as his daughter.

Or maybe he just stubbed his toe and said, "Oh for the love of Angel and Airwaves! My toe! My daughter, Ava... ANGELS AND AIRWAVES!!"
Personally I think AvA sucks. Did I say that!?
Life is what you make it.

Oh geez... I already posted this in another topic. And it was confirmed. Tom didn't origonaly like the name angels and airwaves until he saw that the initials are AAA but if you switch the middle A you get AVA, is daughters name. But I say: what about Rocket?? (that is his son if you didn't know)

I thought the "v" is also a mathematical term for and.
I dont really think its ironic, something tells me he planned it that way.
