It was barely morning and already civilians began to walk the streets of Eyris. The snow that fell the night before covered the streets and houses, though with all the wagons and such, the streets would soon by clear enough. Of course, it was only a few inches, and not drastically hard to travel in. Learanians were not warded off from a snow fall. (they had gone through much worse) And the shop keepers knew this well. Thus, they all arose early, just as usual, and opened up. On days like this, they even tended to get even more business. Since it was the first day of the new year, more people were bound to shop, and the sales were bound to draw people in!
That's right, it is a bright, glorious morning in the Eyris town square. Business is booming, people are going about their business, and frivolity is to be had. The Hostess Club is open with those on shift ready to cater, the vendors and armories are bustling, and a certain jewelry shop, run by a wonderful girl, has a wonderful sale going on. In the open, bards play joyful music, and dancers put on a show.
However, if one plans to go out, dressing warmly is necessary. It's cold outside! So wake up, you party goers from last night! Hangover, or no hangover, the new year has begun, and a new day is here!

"Nya...it's cold..."
Sunil was trudging through the few inches of snow, shivering just a little. He was up after only a few hours of sleep, since he had to help clean up after all the Beorc yesterday at the party. It was tiresome work, but in the end they all managed to finish.
Least he was dressed warmly, with fuzzy mittens, a hat that had the flaps to cover Beorc ears (altered so his cat ears could poke out of the top of the head), and a blue scarf. He was also wearing a warm coat.
There were plenty of shops, though it didn't seem like anyone was hiring for the time being. That was a shame. He did have some pocket money, and the Hostess Cafe was right there. He never ate there before, but from what he heard, it was a nice place.
His stomach rumbled a little, and the cat sighed. "Guess I'll have breakfast at the Hostess Club today."

Hwaaa!! So many shops! Elly didn't know where to start! The food, the clothes, stuffies! Oo they were all too cute. Jewalry was not something she doted on but they were pretty to look at. She stopped at one of the stands, observing accessories such as bracelets, rings, necklaces. They were certainly well crafted. Wow, when was the last time she explored like this? Surely not often back in Magvel. The sniper looked up, letting out a soft gasp and ran to the nearest window of a toy shop. "Oooh!! Teddy bears!! How cute!" She squeeled, nearly face planting into the window as she observed the many different sizes of stuffied animals. Her main focus was obviously on the white bear that sat at the window with a red ribbon around its neck. "So cuuute~!" She could always start her new collection here in Learania. The rest of her stuff was at home back in Magvel, including her most favorite one. Of course, her short attention span wandered off again and her jaw dropped at the delicious cake stand. "CAKE!!!!" squeeling once more. This was something she needed to have in her stomach.

"Don't touch!" said a voice from somewhere behind the stand. The Duke's Head's new main street location meant he was a busy chef, and his secret was getting harder and harder to keep, especially now that the Duke's Head employed cooks under his direction in the kitchen. It was one of these cooks who poked his head out around the stand, smiling. "The head chef is still working on the ones for sale, this one's just for display," he said to Ellie, stepping out around. "What can I get you?" The little cakes were just sweet confections, little pieces of soft, moist baked dough with glaze or icing on the top and nothing on the bottom so you could hold them in your palm.
"We've got plain with cream cheese, with vanilla, with strawberries, with blueberries, with jam filling, with cream filling... It'll be about ten minutes for the filled ones, though, probably."

Tristai was hard pressed to keep up with her extremely excitable companion. At least she was warm... wrapped up in her violet scarf and gloves, and her long coat that reached down to her ankles, she only sniffled slightly as her nose began to run from the cold. It might not have been as cold as what she even thought it was, but she had never been able to adjust well to winter after growing up in Jehanna. Although, somewhere in the back of her mind, she for some reason recalled an incident of her feet being frostbitten, and ever since her feet were almost always cold... but it was beyond her on where or when it ever happened, since she almost never saw snow when she was young. Almost like she made it up, but, well, her feet WERE always cold still.
She followed Elly dutifully from window to window, her hands deep her in pockets. Teddy bears, jewelry- oh good lord, there were cakes. She took a deep breath, finally having an opportunity to catch up.
"...I don't know if you need any more sugar this morning..." the ranger started, but she sighed, knowing her words probably weren't even registering. Elly's eyes were filled with the images of cake. Tristai rarely partook in sweets- they tended to upset her stomach, if they were too rich.
"...So are we stopping here for a bit, then?" She stifled a yawn at the end of her sentence. She actually had been sleeping in, but then Elly had wanted to go shopping so badly, she couldn't say no...

"MEEP!!!" Elly stopped dead in her tracks, nearly topping over on the ground when the man suddenly shouted her to not touch. She wasn't going to anyhow but the sudden outburst startled her. He explained about the ones simply on display and informed her that the actual ones were still a work in progress. She let out a small 'oo' when the choices were offered. "Can I have one with strawberry?" the sniper asked kindly, turning to the ranger who had finally caught up and gave her a cute innocent smirk. "Oooh, what harm can it do~" besides make her more hyper and excited then she already was? ... Nah, that was just how she is when not in shy avoiding mode. But really..its CAKE, how can you say no to that..well..unless it was too heavy and feels fattening when you eat it but still! Cake! She slowly turned her head to Tristai "Did you want one, Tristai?" Well, once she had gotten their cake, a break was probalby nice since she had been dragging the poor girl since early morning. More specifically, when she realized the stores were open.

What harm can it do? ...None for you, just for me. x_x
She shook her head, hands still in her pockets. "Nope, I'm good." The last thing she needed was a heavy pastry sitting in her stomach for the rest of the day- especially if they had more rounds to make of the market place. She dug her heel around in the snow, making a fan-like pattern around her foot. She realized she really should try to lighten up a bit, she agreed to come along, but the thought of curling up in bed was so appealing... but that just meant that later on it would be even more appealing and fulfilling, she supposed.

"It's cold...." Farina heard people in the streets complain. Some of them were bundled up so much that it was hard to recognize them.
Hmph! This is nothing compared to Ilia's frigid winters! Oh, that's right. But unlike them, she didn't really have a home. Right about now, she was still wandering about looking for Murphy and something to keep her livelihood. Course with her tricks, she had still amassed enough to be able to get some food and armor if she needed them.
And so, she headed toward the Duke's Head, one of the first places she had been once landing in Learania. There, she saw two gals looking at the sweets. She could go for some warm sugar right about now. "Hey!"

"Right, then," said the cook, rubbing his arms. Figures he got stuck with manning the booth outside, freezing in the snow. The new guy got to be in the warm kitchen, just because he was... more competent... damnit.
"Tib-- er, sir, there's an order for a strawberry cake!" he called, stepping all the way inside and rubbing his arms a bit. It was passed to him on a little plate a good bit quicker than he would have liked, and he sighed softly as he stepped back out into the cold and offered it to Elhaym on a warm plate. Mmm, iced with cream cheese, mixed with a bit of sugar and a lot of strawberry juice, and two big strawberries plopped upside down on top of it! "That's three silver." He couldn't help noticing the look on Tristai's face... she looked a lot the way he felt right then.
"And can I get you some coffee, miss?" he asked her, a little smile playing at the edge of his lips.
Ganon was huddled by the fire when the door of the Hostess Club opened. The place was already quite warm-- Ganon always kept it that way, with a fire roaring in the fireplace, and he kept the whole place sealed shut, windows and all, except when the door needed to open.
"Morning!" he called, standing up and shrugging out of a blanket. "Afraid our Hostesses aren't here just yet, I'm sure they'll be along soon. They had a late night with the party, and all." He glanced at the stairs, as if hoping Aruna would slither down any second, then sighed. "Why don't I just take your order for you, until Blossom or Aruna or someone gets here?" He wagged his tail slowly, then whipped it out to grab one of the waitress' notepads off the bar.

Sunil found a lizard man of sorts trying to warm up near the fire to greet him upon arriving at the Hostess Club. And according to him, it seems as if they were all still tired from the party from last night. Truthfully, the cat should be resting as well, but like always, he had to find work to survive the next day. Especially now that it was cold.
"Oh, thank you." said Sunil with a small smile, shrugging off his coat and scarf after putting his mittens inside of his coat pockets.
He then took a seat near the kitchen so the lizard man didn't have to walk so far to and fro, and it was also pretty close to the fire to keep the both warm. He picked up the menu and looked at it.
...Only to remind himself that he couldn't read. How he had managed to find jobs without such a vital skill was anyone's guess. He pretended to look at it for a few minutes, then set it down. He let his nose do the rest of the work.
"Can I get a hot chocolate...and a few cakes?" the cat laguz asked.

...Injured with pain and sadness, the you that cannot be healed Shoulder the burden of the past that cannot be erased; don't throw away your will to live...[ X ][ O ]Blossom[ O ][ X ] →It really did seem like a much better idea to simply stay curled up in bed that morning, Blossom decided as she tucked herself in farther below her covers. The fire hadn't been stoked again that morning, so the heat emanating out of the walls from the furnace was feeble at best, and the thick curtains she had closed over the windows didn't do enough to block out the worst of the morning's chill.
She whined and threw one arm over her eyes, trying to block out the light. When this proved futile, Blossom finally sat up and rubbed blearily at her eyelids, peering at the clock on her wall.
...Oh right, work.
...
Oh right, work!
Blossom flew into action, knowing her only saving grace to be the fact that she still had time to ready herself and rush to the Cafe before being deemed late. It was still early, after all. Aidan's side of the bed was already empty, so Blossom decided to simply assume he was busy running errands or doing something elsewhere in the house while she squirmed into her uniform. Her new... ah, changes made the clothes uncomfortably tight in a couple of places, but they fit, they still looked nice, and she could manage. Just gotta go buy a new shirt when I get back home...
Blossom tugged her jacket over her arms and back, zipped it up, and wound her worn red scarf around her neck. She then tucked her wallet into her jacket pocket and practically flew out the door, only pausing to lock it behind her and shove the key into her pocket next to her money.
The Cafe, thankfully, wasn't too far away from home, and she arrived shortly after Sunil entered through the door. "I-I'm here!" Blossom panted, leaning against the doorframe. She paused, looked at Ganon, then at the open door. "O-Oh! Sorry!" Blossom hurriedly entered the room and closed the door firmly behind her, leaning against it for a moment.
"So-Sorry, I... uh... I-I'm on time, right? Not late?" Blossom looked over at Ganon as she shed her coat and moved into a room off to the side, hanging it where only the employees could enter so her personal belongings would be safe. She then rushed back into the room, feet tapping lightly on the wooden floor.
Her blue-grey eyes went over to the new arrival off to the side after her breathing finally calmed, the heaving of her chest no longer visible. "Oh, a customer," she commented idly. She blinked, looked over at Ganon. "Did you already take his order or should I?" She began to fumble in her apron pocket for her pad and pen.← You'd better forget everything. Now that was what she called a cake, nice and warm and served right off the bat. The sniper licked her lips but before she could actually chow down on the delicious dessert, she dug into her pouch and fished for what she owed. After a few, handed him exactly three silvers. "Thank you~" The disposable fork that came with it was immediatly used to slice the first bite of the cake. Elly squeeled in delight and took another forkful of the cake into her mouth. After a moment she looked up at Tristai, shivering a little where she stood. "Wuff yu Lke fu go somphere warm?" obviously she wasn't making sense..not with a mouth full of cake anyhow, but it was deeelish. Another forkful was about to be shoved in until an unknown face came to view. Elly blinked, swallowing the bite she was finishing up. "Um..H-Hello" greeting quietly. Wow, who whudda thought that after all that excitement she chooses to be shy at a new face rather then the cook she just greeted..but then again...CAKE. Ou em gee.

I won't be helping anyone I love if I merely stand here and cry, praying for their safety.~ ¤ ◆ Leena ◆ ¤ ~ Today was going to be a big day for business, as usual. After the Host Club Party was actually done well (or at least it was by the accounts of other people Leena knew being there), the jeweler expected an influx of customers. After all, it was time to clear out the old inventory and make for the new creations that the shop owner and her many assistants worked so hard on. She was sure with just a smile, they would come rushing in, trying on the pieces that suited their ring sizes, neckace lengths, or even what pretty jeweled barrettes fit in their hair. Customers were... over all nice, in her experience.
Looking up at the clock, Leena finally decided to turn a sign over. It said OPEN, in huge red capital letters, and even people who weren't exactly literate knew the meaning. It meant that it was time for the shopping to commence, and absolutely all the old must be cleaned out for the new! Everything must go, hurry and grab this year's collection before it was gone.
"Oh, how out of breath am I going to be after saying that so much today..." Leena thought the words with glee, but at the same time, a hint of exhaustion. There were still a lot of orders coming in from the Watch for her magical items. Luckily, she finally had the funds to hire a horse and carriage for that business. She was the owner of Sparkles, the Jewelry shop, and wanted to be there personally for the inventory clearance.- ▪ ⋄ Magical Jeweler ⋄ ▪ - I must be the creator of that which gives them strength... and forever forge happiness.

Coffee... was a brilliant idea.
"Yes, please, if it isn't too much trouble... Just straight black..." Not only would it be warm, it would give her some more energy. She almost felt bad for the poor cake, watching it be viciously attacked by Elly's fork. Almost could her the poor little fibers of life screaming for mercy...
"Chew, swallow, speak. It works wonders, trust me," she dug into her coat pocket to fish out some change to pay for her coffee. It was a bit much for her to actually spend money on something edible, but perhaps it was the... holiday season that made her willingly part with even the smallest amount of her earnings. Then again, it could also be because she had chased a cat around the alley and eventually had to de-tree it for a majority of her night per request (and reward) of her elderly neighbor, and the sleep deprivation was getting to her.
She opted to let Elly do the socializing when someone else approached the stand. Idle conversation wasn't her strong suit.

"Hey, mind if I take a seat with you two? I'm Farina, kinda new around here though some people already know me. Yeah, some people who she rather not knew her, and some others were okay. She offered her hand to shake hands with the timid girl and the stony looking faced one next to her, whoever took the hand first.
Oof. The cake looked wonderful. Maybe she'd get some cake too. She hadn't eaten yet after all. So, she waited for the two women to respond and also for the waiter to come by.
Then afterwards, she'd go off looking for good old Murphy again and getting jobs on the way.
