With no cities or towns around for days, the wild life truely is wild. Pines, spruce, breech and popular trees grow tall and old here. The underbrush is thick and tangled. A small lake of sparkling blue water gives the place a feeling of serenity. Many species of song birds, birds of prey, roddents and other animals live within the safety of the trees and bushes. The most noticable animals are a pack of wolves living in a large cave that have claimed the area as their own.

~Wolves howl and big cats roar....~ ||Entrance|| Two seventeen year old girls were laying on a lagre flat rock sunning themselves by a small lake close to the cave where they had been living for the last four or so years. There were several adult wolves laying around them. These wolves were there adoptive family. All were quietly enjoying the sun as the pups were running around yipping and rough housing. A typical afternoon for them. This was almost always after they had gone hunting. Sometimes before just depending on how lazy they felt in the morning or how hungery they were. One girl had long, blood red hair with silver highlights and had wolf like quilities. The other had gold highlights and cat like quilities. Their clothing was simple. Either a red or green t-shirt, black jeans with or without holes in the knees, a jean jacket line with the fur of there favourite animal and two necklaces. Both wore a collar like chocker and a animal head pendant. The girl with silver highlights wore a wolf head one and the golden highlighted girl a lynx head one. Both pendants looked like they were made of vanrished wood. It was quiet fo several more moments before gold highlights spoke. "Bree" she whined, "What do you think going to happen to us?" The girl name Bree sighed before answering. "I seriously don't know. We could being living out here for several more years or someone could find us in the next few days or weeks and next us away from our family. I hope that if someone does find us, they will allow them to come with us." Bree responded, stopping for a moment. "What's wrong Ree? Are you having another one of those feelings of yours?"Ree only nodded her head slightly for an answer. The fact was, her feelings were usually very clear. But, this one wasn't. While she was feeling safety was coming soon, danger was following close behind it. That was what was stumping her. Danger normally came first THEN safety. What did this safety then danger mean? Ree didn't know. Shee would just have to wait to see what happened. Everything went quiet again besides the pups in the background after that short exchange of words. They were both thinking about what they're future might hold now. Knowing they would have to be patient and wait for events to unfold. ||Exit|| ~....While birds cheep, scwak, screech and soar~

Several hours later.... Leaves rustling and twigs snapping could be heard just before Reka stumbled out of the underbrush on to the only road into the area. It more like a deer trail though. It was rarely traveled, thankfully. THey didn't want to risk being found. Reka had gotten tired of sitting around doing nothing. It was her turn to scout the border of their territory anyway. She might as well do this instead of dieing of boredom back at the lake and den. She started her usual check. First she looked up and down the trail and saw no one. Next she listened for something that might be coming towards her. Then she sniffed the air. Nope, nothing besides a deer had pasted by. Good, it was safe for her to travel on it. Reka would first go to where the trail ended then head back down the trail to where it started.......
((Hopefully someone comes to get Breena and Reka soon. I'm not going to be able to keep this up for long.))

Seishi silently worked his way up the trail a 40 backpack trying diligently to knock him over. He was slightly out of breath despite the fact he'd walked many miles with only one stop in between. Finally he decided that it was time for another stop so he climbed up into a tall tree with sturdy looking branches. He wedged his backpack between two branches and sat draped over a third branch strong enough to hold him up. He leaned over to his backpack and dug out a water bottle. After taking a long drink he took advantage of the current height level to look around.

The sound of someone tripping and falling could be suddenly heard around a bend up the trail. Following that was the sound of the someone swearing loudly as they picked themself up off the ground. A few minutes later a young 17 old year girl come around the bend dusting herself off and grumbling to herself, unaware of the person up in the tree. "Damn it anyway! You'd think with my Inner Animal being a cat, I wouldn't keep tripping like that... The wolves even have better balance then me!!! That's just embarrassing..." She stopped to kneel down and drink from a small stream that ran next to this part of the trail. When she finished, she got up while wiping her mouth on the sleeve of her well woren jacket. Then she stretched her muscles out. That's when she caught the scent. She hunched into a fighting stance that made her look very much like a riled cat. Someone had been here very recently. They hadn't gone all the way up the trail or she would have small it long before now. She looked around the area, not thinking to look up into the trees. She saw no one. That was enough to make her come out of her stance and sigh a breath of relief. "They must have gone back down the trail. Not that I blame them. This part of it is quite a challenge for most poeple.....But, that's going to make checking the rest of the trail hard for me." She spoke loudly to herself, still not realizing that the person in question was actually in a tree, above her.

Seishi heard the girl before he saw her so he was on his feet ready to flee if need be. Crouched in the tree as he was he looked a lithe panther ready to pounce on it's prey. When he saw the girl he relaxed but not too much. He never knew who would attack him for which this thought was confirmed when the girl seem to tense as if she sensed his presence. His eyes scanned the area looking for the wolves. Finding none in the immediate view he slid down the tree bark trying to stay out of sight of the girl. He needed to get away from her, there was no telling if she was of the Anti-mutants or Brother Hood.
He was nearly to the ground with when he nearly dropped his backpack. He'd only managed to save himself by using his powers to stop it from hitting the ground. He glanced at the girl, while his power is unobtrusive most of the time there was always an extremely small wave of it that floated like the wind across a plain. Most people didn't even notice it as small as it was. Not seeing anything he clambered the rest of the way down and grabbed his frozen bag from the air. He clutched it to his chest so he knew it wouldn't hit any branches as he made his way through the rather thick forest. He didn't notice the monkey in front of him until it threw a fruit at him. The fruit hit him on the forehead knocking him over and causing him to fall on his butt. "Shi-" He cut himself off in the barest hope that the girl didn't hear him fall or was curious about the curious chatter of the monkey who was coming closer to him (which was creeping him out).

((Dude, there are no monkey's in Manitoba. Except for maybe if they're in a zoo. But, that's besides the point. It's to cold for them here. I should know. I really do live in Manitoba and there's snow on the ground. Well, I guess just for the heck of keeping things interesting, I'll allow it just this once.))
Her ears picked up on what sounded like someone falling on their butt and the sounded of a monkey chattering??? What the heck?! She didn't think monkeys lived this far north. Regretting already what she was about to do next, she clear her throat and spoke loudly. "Who's there?! I know your there because I can smell you! Show yourself!!" The thruth was, she was smelling what she thought was someone who already left. So, she was hoping it was just her imagination. But, knowing her luck, it wasn't.

((It was an escapee Monkey from a Zoo and it's been living there for like 10 years?? WOW! ))
Seishi grimaced and got up making a face at the monkey. He put his backpack on his shoulders and walked out of the forest and back onto the trail. "Hello." He had put on his professor face which seemed to never leave him even if he wanted to, "I am Seishi Nafasi. May I ask who you are?" He looked at the girl taking in everything about her.

((I guess that could work......Hope it's one of those monkeys that can adjust to cold climates. And I think I'll not say their names until Seishi hears them.))
She backed up a bit when Seishi stepped out of the underbrush. Golden cat eyes filling with a suspicious curiousity. Her hand hovered slightly toward the large hunting knife straped to her right thigh. She backed up again. How long had it been since she had actually had contact with another human besides her sister?? A few years at least. She didn't know how to respond to this stranger. She kept backing up until she could glace out the corner of her eye and clearly see the bend in the trail. It was when he spoke that she lost against the urged to flee. Fear completely filling her eyes. Completely giving into her Inner Animal, she used her agility to spin around and take off back down the trail. Hoping that she could reach her sister before the stranger caught up to her. She quickly reach the top speed a lynx could go when they needed. And she needed it now.
Back at the lake and den.
Another young 17 year old girl was pacing anxiously, waiting for her twin to return. This was her normal rutain when her sister was out scouting the border. She really shouldn't be worried seeing as both of them had done this plenty of times with nothing happening since coming to live with the wolves. So, why was it she worried so much this time??? Maybe it was the fact that her sister had had another one of those feelings of hers. It always ment bad news when she had one. So, why would this time be any different? She would just have to wait and see what would come. But, by all the was wild and free, this not knowing was driving her crazy enough to go feral! Thankfully, her chocker stop her from doing just that.

Seishi held out a hand as if he wanted to stop her but let it fall as she disappeared from sight. He watched after her then looked over his shoulder to see the monkey right behind him. Startled he jumped away, towards the way the girl went. The monkey followed his movements. "Aw...no way! Get away you stupid Monkey! You don't even belong here!" He took off running nearly as quickly as the girl. He glanced back to see if the monkey was following. He didn't see it but that could change if it was following in the trees.
He turned back around and actually ran into a tree. He was momentarily stunned, laying on the ground and staring at the tree's crown. "Owwww. That hurt." He took several deep breaths trying to slow his now rapid breathing. He caught the heady scent of water as he did. So far there was no sign of the Monkey in the trees above him and he'd hoped he had managed to ditch it awhile back.
((I will explain the monkey thing and why he ran: First off He use to live in Africa. His father is a shaman for a mutant village in Africa. Because of the Shaman bit there's a gland in Seishi's body that excretes a scent that is pleasant of animals. It's not super strong to draw every living creature to him but enough that if they were several feet away they'd smell it and come closer. He'd once had a flock of birds after him. He'd gotten into the habit of running from the less dangerous things (like not lions or what not. Lions would think he was food if he ran.) but now he is at the cave and lake....))

((So in other words, he has an Animal Affinity.))
She bursted through the underbrush into the clearing that was the lake and den, screeching for sister. Said sister was on her feet in an instant, rushing to her sister's side. A couple of the adult wolves came as well. Between breathing hard and her speaking quickly, it was almost impossible to understand her. Luckly, her sister was use to this. "Astranger...Onthetrail...Ithinkhefollowedme!!" She franticly said. Her sister's eyes widened in shock and fear. One of the wolves whimpered, or so it sounded like whimpering, but to the two sisters, it sounded like this: "What's going on?" The male wolf asked. "A stranger may have followed her back here. I need you to get your pups into the back of the den. Ree, you go to." The calmer of the two said. Her sister just nodded her head once and took off to the den. "As you wish, Fur sister." The female wolf said, bowing slightly to her. Then she yiped. "Everyone into the den now!" The following response was a chorus of barks of acknowledgement and wolves coming out of nowhere and running to the den. The sister who was issuing the orders also went over to the cave but didn't go into it. She took up a guard position in front of it. Her body qiuvered slightly as she let the change start, but held herself just a bit away from actually changing. That was actually quite hard to do because it caused more pain then letting it come on. But, she didn't focus on that. She focused on the stranger they might be there. The possible threat to her adoptive family. Raising her voice in a commanding way, she spoke. "I know you're there! You can't fool a wolf's nose! Show yourself!!" She growled out threatenly.

((A extremely small affinity))
Seishi stood up and into view, "Uh...You haven't happen to see a Monkey have you? It kinda chased me up here..." He took the girl in front of him in. He slow raised his hands up trying to ease her posture, "I'm not here to hurt you or anything."

((lqtm, figured as much. Bree is going be the only one in this post. Ree and the wolves might reappear next post depending on Seishi's response.))
This caused her to blink. A monkey? She didn't think they this far up north. But, that didn't make her pause for long. She went immediately back on the defence. Glaring coldly now, she spoke again. "How do I know that? It wouldn't be the first time humans have hurt us. Who are you anyway? What are you doing here?" She demaned.

Seishi shrugged slowly not wanting to scare the girl off, "I'm Seishi Nafasi. I'm a teacher at a school in New York City for gifted students. I came up here to hike seeing as I heard it had some rough terrain. I really have no intention on harming anyone or anything. Look I'm going to take my bag off and you can check for any kind of weapons on me. You will find a hatchet in my bag along with a sheathed blade that's 18 inches long as well." He took his back back and set in on the ground slowly, making no sudden movements. He backed away from it slowly so that if the girl wanted to, she could go to the bag without being in his arms reach.

She sniffed Seishi's scent. He was telling the truth. That was enough to make her come out of her defensive stance. "Nevermind, I can tell just back your scent that you're telling the truth." She said, knowing she should have done that when he first said he ment no harm. But, she had been tricked in the past. She then turn to face into the cave and let out a series of wistles the sigified that it was safe to come out and that the stranger ment no harm. One by one, starting with her sister, the occopents of the den came out. There was alot of whining and whimpering, asking if she was sure he wounldn't do anything to hurt them. She nodded her yes. The wolves relaxed and the adults went back to sunning themselves while the pups went back to rough-housing. "I guess since you said who you are it's only polite we do the same. I'm Breena." The girl who had been guarding the den said, returning back around. The truth was, it was really just a large cave. "I'm Reka...." The one who had been scouting the area said. Now that they stood side by side, it was clear that they were twins with slight differences in appearance. Breena had wolf like quilities to her while Reka had cat like quilities. Breena also had a more wild appearance to her.
