Roaming through the tall grass, Teleza's eyes flicked around. He wasn't in the mood to do anything in particular; in fact, he was on his way back to see a female. It was something he regretted- not because of the female, for she was sweet and kind, but because of what he had done.
His large paws left deep imprints in the ground, the soft dirt poofing up around them as they hit. His tail barely touched the tips of the grass, he held it elevated slightly, wanting to feel the slight tickle of the blades on his fur.
He looked solemn, as always, but he was in a good mood. For the moment, at least. What he had heard of the female he was headed towards had made him upset, but responsible for his actions, so he kept on his path.

Mashaka was in an upbeat mood, something for him that had been pretty rare. It was all thanks to his mother (really she was an adoptive mother) but she was the only mother he knew and he loved her like his very own. He had so much to thank her for. She had brought him and his sister her, his sister was soo happy here and it made Mashaka happy. He was soon to leave now though, he had something things to sort out and deal with, before he joined a new pride of his own, where he had left that girl.
He moved through the tall grasses, a pleasent smile on his face. He wasn't looking for anyone in particular or anyone in general but if he found someone he wouldn't complain.

Dark eyes moving slowly, the scenery seemed to just fly by Teleza. The colors were all shades of greens and browns, all blurred together as his long limbs carried him forward. It was for this blurred environment that Teleza was glad that he had a pride to rely on and keep life interesting.
A movement off to the side caught his eye, and he stopped, turning his head to watch what it was. It was different then the scenery, and the markings looked....familiar? He found himself drawing nearer to the small purpleish thing, trying to figure out where he knew the markings from.
Not wanting to speak first, Teleza pawed at the small cub playfully, wanting for him to introduce himself so he could figure out where he was from.

Mashaka smiled when he saw Teleza, he had never officially met the line but he knew of him... boy did he ever know of him. There had been many heated discussion about Teleza around his den. His sister had a crush on him, or so that all it seemed to be in the beginning, and his mother was greatly angered by the whole idea of the two of them together.
Mashaka's opinion was live and let live, there was few things teh lion wanted to stick his nose into and his sisters love life wasn't one of them. He moved closer to Teleza a smile on his face. Teleza clearly towered over him, Mashaka was large for his age, but nothing could compete with Teleza.
"Good afternoon" he greated the large black and white lion.

Glad to see that the cub was friendly, Teleza dipped his head down, a small smile opening on his face. "Good afternoon, little one." His eyes swiveled over the little cub's pelt, the familiar colors and markings pulled at his memory. Where.....? Almost in a split second, the relation came to him.
"You're Kana's brother, aren't you?" His excitement grew, but it was short lived. He desperately hoped that her brother wouldn't show the resistance that their mother showed towards his relationship with the small female. "I'm Teleza." His tail twitched, and he waited for the cub's reaction. He was a big cub, he noticed, and hoped that someday, he could have a large purple lion for a friend and fellow giant.

"I am indeed Kana's brother. And I know who you are, your name has been mentioned a great deal in the den." he smiled sheepishly, he had a feeling that Teleza would have known about the issues with the interest he expressed with Kana.
Trying to off set any damage he might have done Mashaka widened his smile. "I am glad to finally meet you." he told him honestly.

"Oh?" Teleza held back a slightly embarrassed look, his eyes staring blankly for a moment. He was overwhelmed to hear that he had been mentioned quite a bit in their den. By Kana? It must've been. "I'm....I'm glad to hear that." He moved his head back up, looking around the scenery.
"What are you doing out here? I wouldn't want your mother to find you this far with me." He laughed, but his words held some truth. There was no way he wanted to feel the wrath of Mizu again, not after the first time. Their mother was the one lioness that scared Teleza, but not by size. It was more of her power to totally reject their relationship that scared him.

Mashaka smiled he could tell that Teleza must really like his sister if he was worried about Mizu finding the two of them. "My mom is ok with me being out here, she had found me out her countless times, I am an adventurer, I can't stay put very long." he told the large lion.
Truth was Mashaka would be living this pride very soon, he just hadn't told anyone yet. "So I guess I have to have a chat with you." Mashaka said with a serious tone to his voice, there was a few things Mashaka had to do before he left the pride, and one of them was to make sure his sister was going to be ok, he couldn't leave unless he knew that. He hoped that the lion would take him serious even given their size difference.

"Adventuring is good for the young mind." Teleza smiled; he would've patted the small cub on the top of his head, but he feared hurting him with his massive paws. "I wish I could've done that more as a cub...." His voice trailed off, remembering what happened when he was his age. Such horrid things seemed to befall him.
"A chat, hm?" He raised an eyebrow to the small cub, a smirk on his face. He kind of wondered what he would want to chat with him about, or what he 'could' chat with him about, seeing as Teleza was a few years older than the cub.

"I just." Mashaka began and stumbled on his words, he hadn't realized how nervous he would be. "I wont be in the pride for much longer, don't tell anyone, I want to tell my mother and sister myself. But before I go I need to know that my sister is going to be safe, loved and taken care of." Mashaka's eyes had tears in them, he tryed to hold them back.
"Kana is the only family I have had since birth and I will be sad to leave her, but if I know she is taken care of and loved then I think it will be ok." he looked into the eyes of the large lion, hoping the gravity of the situation would show through.

"I see." While Teleza was sad to hear about the departure of a pride member, especially Kana's sister, he knew that everyone needed to live their own lives.
"I promise, I'll take good care of her." His face was serious, eyes pleading. "I don't want you to worry about her while you're out in the world. She'll be here, with me, always." He nodded, wanting to reassure the small cub. "Besides, while she's with me, no one will mess with her." He couldn't help but laugh a little, making a joke about his size and how intimidating it could be.

Mashaka laughed as well, "I am glad to hear that. Kana is a very special soul I don't know what I would have done without her." he smiled fondly remembering the days that they had been with the biological dad, he hadn't minded his father so much, but he was always so busy tending to all the other cubs that there was never enough time, Kana had been his one constant.
"Kana has been through a lot and all I want is for her to be happy." Mashaka knew his sister well enough to know that this was the right home for her, and that when he was a little older he would go and find his home for him too. "If I can I will come back and visit you both." he told the older lion.

"Ah, that makes sense." He nodded, knowing that sometimes creatures just had one other in the world to rely on. Teleza found that he was realizing that now, and glad that he wasn't alone in the world anymore. "I wish you lots of luck on your journey. We will always have open arms in the pride here for you." He dipped his head, knowing that when the small cub decided to leave, he'd hear all about it from Kana. She'd be sad, he knew, but he'd be there to comfort the small cub and take away her sadness.
"I hope that me and Kana can go through a lot together." Teleza didn't want to be alone anymore, he didn't want to be an outcast. With this pride, he found that he had more and more acceptance by others, and it made him happy. "I look forward to a visit from you." He smiled, knowing that the boy might never come back. But he hoped.

Mashaka smiled at the large lion, knowing that no words were necessary between them, he needed to get away before he began crying, leaving this pride was going to be one of the hardest things he had ever done, but it was something that had to be done. He rose to his feet and nodded quickly at Teleza before he departed down into the valley of his home, to a hinding spot where he could collect himself.
