As the sun sank lower behind a distant mountain Amber lay on her stomach atop a smooth boulder, a deep sigh leaving her maw. It was often a night that she could be found out here a good distance from home, lost in thought. Her step mother finally not the only reason that she longed to soar far away. Her crippled Father had her Grandfather to help him, she was no longer required to stay home. No...now she would lay there on the same boulder thinking, wondering about ever meeting somebody special...It seemed like a distant dream she could never reach, but the beautiful colors of the sunset each night gave her a glimmer of hope.
Her different colored eyes lingered on the setting sun a moment longer before she closed them, her chin resting on her paws. It would not be the first time she had fallen asleep there. But her mind raced too much for her to relax enough. Her tail thudded against the ground in a soft rythm as her mind once again wandered off to her secret dreams of her own family...her own...special someone...

"He-yah! Take that you double breasted belly yanker!" The brown male lifted himself up on his front paws, shifting in just a right position so that he could kick the nearby tree with his feet. The thrust pushed him back slightly as the tree was rather well grounded. "Oh yeah...? You think you're something special, don't ya? Well, I'll win, I promise you Jack-faced Lurker man! And while you're at it, wipe that smug look from your ugly face!" He backed up and took a running leap at the tree, missing short to land with his chin in the ground. He half laughed, ready to get up and try again when he was stopped rather short by the most beautiful pair of duel colored eyes...

The sound of another's voice brought her abruptly out of her thoughts. When the sound of somebody falling down nearby reached her ears she jumped up, eyes wide in shock. "H..hello..?" Forcing herself to relax she looked around until a male on the ground caught her eye. The way he was looking at her caused a soft blush to form along her cheeks, though she fought to hide it. "Are you alright? It sounded painful..." Slowly she padded closer, wanting to be sure he was alright.

For a moment it took Torio a moment to reply. The silence slowly became unbearable, though looking into her eyes also felt like a thousand years had gone by.... Oh wait. Blinking out of his random thoughts, Torio let out a hearty laugh. "Yeah, I'm perfectly alright Miss!" He hopped up and swiftly lifted her paw to kiss it, his eyes upon her with a bright smile. "Of course, with a lady as beautiful as you..." His eyes then shifted around and he feigned being shot with an arrow, grasping his chest and falling toward the ground. "Oh! Did you see that! The bugger shot me! Did you see which way he went? We must find him, he is a menace and will continue his rampage if we don't! Ugh." He clutched his chest harder, glancing up at her as if a brilliant actor in a play.

While he simply looked at her, her heart fluttered softly. She found her eyes locked on his as the silence grew longer and longer. Hearing his voice nearly caused her to jump from the suddenness. He moved so quickly. She felt her face warm up further when he kissed her paw, not entirely sure how to react. "Th..thank you..." She gasped when he feined being shot, believing for a moment that something had really hit the poor guy. But then she realized what he was doing, a smile growing across her face. "Oh yes! I saw him...he must be stopped!" She suppressed a giggle as she held out her paw to him.

Smiling, "Than we must hurry! We can't let him get away!" He took her paw, kissing it again, and lifted himself up, however, as he did this he pretended his wound hurt and he faltered to the ground for a moment, acting as though he was faint. "Ugh... I'm afraid... I'm afraid my time is at an end Miss... but you... you must... complete the job for me..." And with a gurgled sound, he fell to the ground, his paw on his forehead as he ended with his tongue stuck partway out of his mouth.

It became harder and harder to keep that giggle hidden, but she nodded, prepared to follow him around. When he fell to the ground in such a dramatic manner she sat next to him, her paw over her heart. "Oh no...he has met his end...I never even knew his name..." The giggle turned into a soft laugh that she let out as she playfully licked his cheek, then got to her paws and bounded away, looking back over her shoulder to see if he'd follow.

Feeling the lick to his cheek made him blush until he realized she had bounded off. At that his lips curled at the end and he instantly jumped up, chasing after this new beautiful damsel. It would definitely be an interesting story to tell. "Did he get away?!" He decided to continue to play the game.

When she saw he'd gotten up and started running after her, she nodded, playing along more. "He did! But wait..." Stops short, turning to look at him eyes wide as she feigns shock. "Your alive! I thought the shot was fatal."

Smirking, Torio slid over to her. "Oh, it was! It was making me wane... and I was really close to death... But then!" He dramatically stroke a pose with his paw clutched to his heart with his eyes looking off toward the sky, "A female! A damsel! Not in distress mind you, no, a beautiful lioness that all the bards in the land would sing about after this day... came! Yes, she came and rescued me, she saved me... with a single kiss to my cheek." Smiling, his eyes shifted over to look at her with a satisfied grin.

Amber smiled until he mentioned the kiss to his cheek, that was when she blushed a rather deep red. For a long moment she didn't know what to say, instead her multi-colored eyes met his. "I...I'm just happy you survived the shot. It would be horrid if I..didn't even know your name." She forced herself to calm down before talking more. "I'm Amber..."

'Torio started to laugh. Standing up on his two back paws, he smirked, twisting his head to gaze right into her eyes. "My name is Torio, the Actor." He put his paw to his heart before bowing, then taking her paw to kiss it. "I come from a traveling troupe of entertainers, sadly..." Pausing to think, "..I lost them and came here." He added with a hint of embarrassing truth. "But, it is a pleasure to meet you Amber! A beautiful name for a beautiful Damsel."
