They'd told the hospital staff that it was to jog her memories.
Which wasn't a total lie, Aggie reasoned to herself as she sat on the veritable mountain of mattresses they'd gotten the security guys to drag to Imo's room. It was just.. not the main reason. But you could have fun and job someone's memories at the same time, right?
The nurses certainly seemed to think so, because they'd agreed to get the girls some pizzas and smuggle them into the ward with a wink and a smile - apparently the two girls' newfound happiness had touched a note in the hardened staff.
And happiness was the word, because Aggie couldn't honestly remember a time in her life where she'd been happier. Spending her days with Imogen was a treat, a secret dream come true; she had a best friend and it really was the best thing ever!
Which was why she'd agreed to the sleepover when Imo mentioned that they had had a lot of them at the school, and a day of organization and pleading later, here they were!
"Eww, mine's got pepperoni on it. Yours was ham, right?" She tried to peer at the other girl's half-open box. "I should've g-gone with that too." Too late, she sighed regretfully, too late.

Nurse Sourpuss, who'd not even let Sue and Imo have a quick glance at or names of the other survivors and who had been keeping Imo on a Soup Only diet...well she would have been so angry if she'd been on duty roster to be honest. A patient sharing anothers room? Sleeping on mattresses? Ordered PIZZA?! Oh yes. Bricks would have been shat and she'd have stopped this whole fiasco right now. Psychologists and therapists helped you jog memories. Not sleepovers!
The girls however were thrilled.
"If you don't mind pineapple, which you don't usually - " Imogen shoved in there with a grin, for it had become something of a joke that she knew Aggie so well. " - you can have the ham one. I like pepperoni just fine."

"Really?" Puppy dog eyes at full capacity, she held out the distasteful pizza in question. Sure there might still be time for Imo to change her mind, which was why they had to switch as fast as possible! (Because ugh, pepperoni! Nasty stuff.)
"Did you get a-an answer for your application yet? Um, the one for the fancy girl's school or w-whatever?" Aggie had sent an application to Meadowview herself and already gotten accepted, something that she was starting to regret. If she'd known beforehand that Imo existed and was trying for Crystal's (as per her mother's behest), she'd have tried out too!

"You should have checked what was on it." Imo teased as they traded boxes. This showed how much she loved Aggie. She had just given away her most favourite food in the whole wide world. Inwardly she promised herself a good Hawaiian the night she got out of Destiny Memorial. Unless she really really couldn't get her hands on one, she'd accept nothing else.
"Not yet." She pulled a slice out the box, holding it high until the strings of cheese snapped. Imo munched on a tentative bite - food was hot - before elaborating. "I don't know if I'll be able to get in anyway. Mum really wants it to go through though. I'd be happy enough at Meadowview with you, y'know?"

"I should have. We can always split it?" Mm, pineapple goodness and good company - life didn't get any better than this, really. "Half for you a-and half for me, and I can j-just take off the pepperoni!"
"Yeah, but you're really awesome and smart and stuff, so you'll probably get through!" How someone could managed to look both depressed and encouraging at once was a bit of a mystery, but Aggie was a girl of many mysteries (though most had to do with how her drawing skills stayed so awful after all the fake-mags she made on a regular basis). "A-and your mom only wants the best for you, and they say that Crystal girls are the best."
She sounded a little awed at the thought of her best friend joining those ranks.

"Better not sweetie, the pepperoni flavour's all soaked in. Yum!" She made a show of taking a bite while holding the box near her - my pizza now Aggie, no tradebacks! Her best friend wouldn't enjoy this one anyway. It was quite spicy. Along with the pepperoni there seemed to be slivers of green chili and some sort of pepper.
"I don't see why Crystal girls are any better than Meadowview girls. You're just as awesome as I am if not more so and we might end up in different schools. Besides we were both Barren Pine girls and we were all supposed to be uber special talented ...suckers who got our memories wiped." Huh. Imo failed at motivational speaking.

Aggie silently breathed a sigh of relief and took another bite of the heavenly ham pizza, assuring herself that she would have shared if Imo had wanted to, really. Right? Mmm, ham..
"Y-yeah, so much for being 'special'! We a-all ended up like this anyway, right? But I guess they were scary adults and there weren't much we could've done anyway." Man, how depressing. "Um, I think it's because they've got better teachers. Maybe? And I heard some of the nurses say that t-they're all supposed to be rich or something."

"I like to think we tried but really, it's not our fault, it was all so organised. I mean they set up a whole school. But enough about Barren Hell!" Imogen glossed over the fact she'd been the one to bring it up.
"If I get in, we'll stay friend's right? I still expect movie nights. You can't escape now Aggie - lost you once now never again." She'd lowered her voice in an 'or else' fashion and shook her slice of pizza at her. The redhead was trying to lighten the mood, really. She hated seeing Aggie down and a frown threatened to take over her smile.
"Really though..."

Aggie giggled and brushed the stray piece of cheese from Imogen's antics off her face, "You couldn't escape if you wanted to! Memory loss or not, I'll always find you, muahaha!" She mirrored a teasing grin and stuck out her tongue. Best friends forever, and she wasn't ever planning on letting go.
"We'll just have to disguise you so no-one knows you go to a rich people's school and sneak you into the poor side of town so you can come visit me, d-duh."

"Anyway we don't even know if I'll get in." She replied after likewise sticking out her tongue. Then it was back to pizza. So good! The nurses had only got them small ones because it was a lot to eat after the Soup Only rule. Nurse Sourpuss had taken grapes away from Imogen the other day. But even if it made her feel worse later Imo was going to enjoy every bite.
"For all we know, you'll have me tagging along with you at Meadowview and even if I don't get in you'll still have me tag along with you whenever I can. You can't win!"

"Then y-you'll be going to two schools instead of j-just one!" She snickered, imagining the loads of homework. "You can never win with school, really." She nodded sagely, trying to keep a straight face and keep the smiles inside.
"A-are you going back to live with your mom if y-you don't get in?" Aggie had yet to actually meet Imo's mom, but the woman sounded awesome in her opinion. Being of a less than stout character, she'd always harboured a certain respect for those who actually managed to battle their way through life - and win.

"I'll be staying with mum and nanna every weekend. Or maybe it'll be every other weekend once things have calmed down a bit." She couldn't wait to get back to that house, to get out of hospital. The house itself wasn't really home. She just remembered a cold kitchen floor and boxes in her room before Barren Pines. But it'd be lovely to see her family and be able to spend some non-timetabled time with them.
"You're getting an apartment right?"

"Y-yeah, mom and dad have some friend of a friend or s-something.. they say it'll be cheap." She shrugged, a bit disillusioned with her parents at the moment. At the least they'd offered to pay for the thing and was coming around for visits more often now. "I dunno, it d-didn't sound all that awesome. Dad used a lot of words like 'architectural value' and 'historic views', s-so it's probably some rathole."

"Even if it is a rathole, we'll make that rathole yours. Have a painting party, a few movie nights..." Imo's soft frown behind a weak smile was back and she moved to throw an arm around the older girl in a quick half hug. She wasn't impressed with Aggie's parents so much right now either. Sad since she'd never met them but even being sympathetic to the weirdness that was getting a dead relative back - just seemed wrong. Poor Aggie. Imo felt like she seemed more excited having Aggie back and that wasn't right.
"Which reminds me. We must have missed so much this year! I know I can't really remember anything that happened outside of school anyway. So many films, songs and news to catch up on. I wonder if there are still those weird little rival gangs running about?"

"I'd like that." A painting party sounded fun, and now she'd be sure to get a DVD player and a television for sure! She smiled at Imo, once again caught up in how happy she was to have a best friend.
"R-right! They probably are. Some people never learn, seriously." She wrinkled her nose, not the least bit understanding of how people could ever join a gang. Sure, more friends, but all that violence... Well, it certainly wasn't for her, that was sure! "At the least, this way w-we'll have a lot of movies to watch together on movie nights! And, um, new music to share and stuff. Silver linings, right?"
